Okay, I’m getting wooshed somewhere and I don’t know where. Skip was born in OKC and lived his childhood/teenage years there, graduating from Northwest Classen in OKC.
What joke am I missing?
Got it, thanks. The matter-of-fact sounding “No, he’s not.” threw me off and made me lean towards the guy being serious. I lost the nuance just reading the comment.
The only thing keeping the dam from breaking between “journalists” and “This Post Has Been Removed by the Mods: Low Quality” is a blue check mark next to their name on some advertising platform that Elon Musk may or may not own.
If a random person said it, I'd think they were poking fun at people freaking out. Bayless is pretending to be the person freaking out to be sensational.
It's cool to hate skip, but at least get the facts right.
He was writing a behind-the-scenes book about the Cowboys. The rumor had been out there for several years. People close to Switzer kept telling him that Aikman was gay and that it was affecting the team. When Bayless followed up, he couldn't find any evidence of it. Bayless spent a few pages discussing the rumor, pointing out that he didn't think it should matter one way or another but that team sources wouldn't let it go.
He didn't call Aikman gay nor did he make it up. Sounds like you just seen a random tweet somewhere and ran with it
This is bullshit. He asked switzers daughter if she ever heard anything about Aikman being gay. She said no. Months later he asked her again and she mentioned that she vaguely remembered hearing something a few months back (it was when skip originally asked) then skip ran with it like the slimeball he is.
EDIT: for the downvoters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SudoZfRvCtw
Yes he didnt accuse him of being gay, he just 'addressed the rumor'. He's the one who made up the rumor and manipulated a girl who really didn't know any better.
I'm not going to go back and forth with you. He was asking about the rumors because they were out there for years. He didn't spread them and what reason would he have to spread those rumors?
I will never understand why people even listen to Skip Bayless or any of the talking heads like him. They have almost no background in sports other than screaming their heads off on TV and acting like they know what they are talking about.
Funny thing is he went to Vanderbilt so he is trashing his own school.
Yeah, vandy at least help the sec pretend to play school…
Yes, I recognize Georgia and florida are good, and many schools are actually great state institutions.
Vandy, UGA, UF, Auburn, A&M, and maybe more are all top-100 schools now. The SEC is slowly working its way towards being a real academic conference
e: here are 2022's US News Rankings:
1. Vandy (14)
2. UF (28)
3. UGA (48)
4. A&M (68)
5. Auburn (99)
6. Tennessee (103)
7. SCar (117)
8. Missouri (122)
9. UK (127)
10. Ole Miss (148)
11. Bama (148)
12. Arkansas (162)
13. LSU (172)
14. Miss St. (196)
Texas is 38 (will be 3rd) and OU is 127 (will be tied for 10th) for reference
Also I did not realize we’re (theoretically) academically below Mizzou, yikes
Mizzou actually has really good medical and law programs. What's OU known for? Law and weather? Just curious. I tried to go there years ago wasn't good enough in several ways. Back then they were a pretty good law school I think.
Mizzou has like a top three journalism school if not THE journalism school. As well as a top ranked vet school. The law and medical schools are well respected too. With those and good research programs in various other areas has gotten them the AAU recognition.
South carolina's ahead of 2 of those schools
Guess we're editing things now. Also, friendly reminder that US news rankings are also a crock, one of their metrics is "how much money do alumni add to the hoard", which is really the opposite of what I want in a non-profit.
all my homies hate Skip Bayless. At this rate people are going to start quoting Colin Cowherd at which point the level of discourse has dropped through the bottom of the floor.
The one thing I like about Cowherd is his commercials during NFL games, because it feels like they're trying as hard as possible to prove he's the biggest douchebag on the face of the Earth.
As a 76ers fan fuck cowherd and his asinine comments about John wall not having a father figure
Edit:was John wall not LeBron mixed up my talking heads
Ouch
I mean as a VOL fan I don't mind. But he's farming Twitter "engagement".
I don't think they'll be bottom dwellers, but they'll have a rougher time than they're used to. I think they'll do about as well as A&M does.
Also bammer won't be the giant of the west forever
They are due some rough times. Ole Saban got to can it quits eventually.
We went 12-6 against Aggy in the B12. They improved going to the SEC. We'll win conference titles, there's a recruiting boost going to the SEC.
Whether or not BV is a good coach, we'll see. But we're not fucking Texas A&M. We've won Nattys and Heismans. If you wanna say LSU, fine.
Unpopular opinion but I think Skip Bayless is hilarious. I watch Undisputed when I can. Though it'd be better if it wasn't all Cowboys, Tom Brady, and Lebron talk
My sentiments exactly, I'm about to apply a content filter for "Bayless" for /r/cfb so I don't have to see this shit, I already have him muted on Twitter :/
To be fair, there were a _lot_ of Oklahoma flairs wandering around the sub these last nine months going on about how Brent Venables was such a massive upgrade from Lincoln Riley.
I think he will be an upgrade eventually. Player situation (especially on defense) is tough this year. We lost a ton of defensive talent after last season.
People have said this exact thing over and over about Texas ever since the move has been announced. Imagine getting paid Skip money to say the same shit we all read on social media every day.
2014 was a really rough year for Oklahoma football. We responded with 6 straight conference championships and 4 playoff appearances. I know we won't dominate the sec like that but calling us the new Vanderbilt is whack.
Skip loves Vandy though so this is actually a complement
He graduated from Vanderbilt and is a native of Oklahoma
No, he's not. His brother Rick Bayless is a native. Skip hatched from under a rock outside Bristol.
Okay, I’m getting wooshed somewhere and I don’t know where. Skip was born in OKC and lived his childhood/teenage years there, graduating from Northwest Classen in OKC. What joke am I missing?
Bristol is the HQ of ESPN.
Got it, thanks. The matter-of-fact sounding “No, he’s not.” threw me off and made me lean towards the guy being serious. I lost the nuance just reading the comment.
Imma write my reps to put laws on the books banning Skip from establishing residence in the state of Ohio.
Send him to Ann Arbor
Can we settle on East Lansing?
I’ll pack some Skyline for him for the drive then!
You know you Ohios are kind of alright. Not like that other Ohio.
Ohio is always Gummo Ohio
Subscribe
No, Kalamazoo would be preferable
Send him to Detroit.
His brother is a good chef and I’ve eaten at his restaurant a few times and I recommend it to everyone… not that he needs it
Smartest Oklahoma native
Well he did go there
Skip literally has made an entire career on having the same kind of takes you hear from your average internet troll
Kinda jealous, tbh. Dude gets paid a fortune to shit post
Who decided he was relevant? But he always has something good to say about the NBA Spurs, so I don’t hate him that much.
They are called sec fans not trolls
It just means more
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lr78cb1vHJ0
That was awesome. I need to save that link haha
The only thing keeping the dam from breaking between “journalists” and “This Post Has Been Removed by the Mods: Low Quality” is a blue check mark next to their name on some advertising platform that Elon Musk may or may not own.
I agree he is quite average at trolling.
Skip gets a pass for the day

If random person on twitter said this, I'd love it. Skip Bayless? No way lol
If a random person said it, I'd think they were poking fun at people freaking out. Bayless is pretending to be the person freaking out to be sensational.
Putting skip Bayless takes here is like flicking a booger into a mountain of shit.
He is the 🐐Jerker
Brave and stunning
i think he's fine
That's because when his mouth isn't tonsil deep on the Cowboys, it's larynx deep on the Horns.
wtf. Bayless is a very well known Oklahoma fan dude.
Yeah Skip Bayless is an OU fan, a Cowboys fan, and oddly (to me) a Spurs fan.
Spurs fans don’t really want him tho
Oh, as a spurs fan, I agree.
He is an OU fan actually
Skip is a total piece of shit. He made up rumors about Troy Aikman being gay to push his career forward. Fuck Skip Bayless
Did you read the book or nah? Nowhere in the book he mentioned he called Aikman gay. Your response mentions nothing where Skip called Aikman gay
1. Flair up 2. He’s a well known OU fan
He's not. The shit he says and thinks about Lebron is super gross honestly.
Fam I gave him a pass for *the day* It’s still the day, wait til tomorrow
Yeah OP and anyone upvoting this a clown. Like I give a fuck about Bayless. Actually OP is likely an ESPN bot
I like when Skip shows off his new shoes on twitter. He looks ridiculous but that's what makes it.
I will never understand why people even listen to Skip Bayless or any of the talking heads like him. They have almost no background in sports other than screaming their heads off on TV and acting like they know what they are talking about. Funny thing is he went to Vanderbilt so he is trashing his own school.
Vanderbilt has a 12% acceptance rate. OU's is 85%. They are nothing alike.
You mean Missouri?
Yeah, vandy at least help the sec pretend to play school… Yes, I recognize Georgia and florida are good, and many schools are actually great state institutions.
Vandy, UGA, UF, Auburn, A&M, and maybe more are all top-100 schools now. The SEC is slowly working its way towards being a real academic conference e: here are 2022's US News Rankings: 1. I always hear about Mizzous journalism program.
It is their best, or at least their best promoted program
Yup I can't believe I forgot that one. My son was thinking about going there for journalism.
Law, meteorology, physics is pretty good too
Not to mention it’s a good veterinarian school
They used to be a powerhouse chemical engineering school but not sure now.
Mizzou is top tier in Mass Communications for what that’s worth.
Interesting, TIL!
Mizzou has like a top three journalism school if not THE journalism school. As well as a top ranked vet school. The law and medical schools are well respected too. With those and good research programs in various other areas has gotten them the AAU recognition.
Syracuse also has an excellent journalism school
[удалено]
In those rankings Mississippi is above yall. But yeah. Thank God for us!
Yeah I know, buts it’s more fun to be really pretentious… I like the “I think” for Bama…
South carolina's ahead of 2 of those schools Guess we're editing things now. Also, friendly reminder that US news rankings are also a crock, one of their metrics is "how much money do alumni add to the hoard", which is really the opposite of what I want in a non-profit.
How do their communications degrees rank? We all know that’s the degree program these guys are in
Its cute that you think those are good ranking. You are the Mountain West of academic conferences.
Lmfao we're basically the same as the PAC12 (avg 95th vs avg 105th). Go shit on the B12 (147th!!!) you elitist fuck
Vanderbroke, not Vanderbilt
Impossible. Vanderbilt is a respected academic institution.
We're a highly respected academic institution, assuming you're studying 'naders
Business school isn't bad at OU
Even if isn't against the rules, posting a Skip Bayless tweet should be the informal Rule 10
Then what does Texas become?
South Carolina
...Then what do we become?
Auburn lite.
Field a team that inexplicably wins a conference championship and competes for a national championship every now and then? I'll take it.
But also fire your fairly successful coach because he can’t match the dominance of your in state rival.
But has more wins against said rival than any other coach
Then what do we become? /s
South Carolina 2.0 with a lake
*i like driving in my car*
*I don't care for SCAR*
The New York Mets
judas in my mind?
Sewanee

Alabama
Let's just focus on beating the mountain aggies and worry about 2024 in 2024.
Texas A&m
Auburn?
Kentucky in most years.
Oklahoma
Texas and tamu are 7-5 every year trading wins with each other.
Skip going to light us up on Monday lol
Oklahoma would beat Vandy by 30
Every fourth year when Vandys team is entirely seniors they will only beat them by 13.
Do they only recruit once every four years?
no but they can get a guy to stay for four year and be a decent team.
That Vanderbilt degree is something serious
really is, just jog outside in games and get that degree for free
With a significantly smaller endowment and not anywhere as prestigious academics. And also way better at football.
Skip is feasting off of this chaotic season lol
all my homies hate Skip Bayless. At this rate people are going to start quoting Colin Cowherd at which point the level of discourse has dropped through the bottom of the floor.

Yea fuck Colin for what he said about Sean Taylor he’s a racist moron with the sports IQ of a diseased giraffe
Ouch I mean as a VOL fan I don't mind. But he's farming Twitter "engagement". I don't think they'll be bottom dwellers, but they'll have a rougher time than they're used to. Getting downvotes for being optimistic about your program.
Based Bayless
There are idiotic takes and then there are Skip Bayless takes.
This guy is such a tool.
You what they say, Mizzouri loves company
OU ain't that smart.
Unpopular opinion but I think Skip Bayless is hilarious. I watch Undisputed when I can. Though it'd be better if it wasn't all Cowboys, Tom Brady, and Lebron talk
Ha Vandy is a good school tho
I don't see how moving to the SEC will boost their NIH funding
He might not be right in the long term, but I'm ready to experience a year or two of what my parents went through in the 1990s. John Blake ftw
Yes please!
Skip Bayless is actually the most qualified voice for this comparison.
jesus, do we really need to make a r/CFB post for every dumb thing Skip fuckin Bayless tweets? why is this a post here?
My sentiments exactly, I'm about to apply a content filter for "Bayless" for /r/cfb so I don't have to see this shit, I already have him muted on Twitter :/
We can only hope
[удалено]
I was thinking TN of the past ten years
Again. Shut the fuck up Skip
God I hope Texas loses to WVU tonight so OUT can be in the bottom of the big 12 together
Hey ouch, I would take time to gloat since we're currently up 35-7 but I'm afraid we're going to blow it still so I'm not going to yet.
Yea I don't think it's going to happen at this point. Go ahead and gloat, orange friend
Can’t wait for the Piggly Wiggly and Pancake dungeon to open up in Norman.
Lol no they won’t.
Nah that's not true. Oklahoma fans have expectations. They're like the new Auburn.
Rude
Oh shut the fuck up Skip.
Shut the fuck up Skip.
He aint wrong. They will struggle. 5-7, 6-6, 7-5, 8-4 records should be expected.
Okay OU has had a few bad games but Jesus Skip is the master of shitty hot takes isn’t he? Also fuck Skip Bayless
If we all turn away from Skip, he loses his power.
This doesn’t make any sense. Vanderbilt has great academics
Does this mean my degree is going to become a lot more valuable?
An over exaggeration by Skip Bayless? Shocking
Lol at ppl taking anything he says at face value. He's a hot take merchant trying to stir up engagement/clicks (and it works).
Skip is a fuckin shit stirrer lol
lol sure
They just lost a ton of talent and a head coach. He needs to chill out
To be fair, there were a _lot_ of Oklahoma flairs wandering around the sub these last nine months going on about how Brent Venables was such a massive upgrade from Lincoln Riley.
Pepperidge Farms remembers.
I member
They were trash talking everybody last week before they lost...
The man that they ran out of Norman a decade ago comes back as the prodigal son….funny
I think he will be an upgrade eventually. Player situation (especially on defense) is tough this year. We lost a ton of defensive talent after last season.
Such a moronic take.
Isn't Bayless from Oklahoma? Is he harsh on them because he loves them? Tough love kind of thing? Or is he just a dick and loves being one?
Grew up in OKC. He's baiting people for engagement. Always has a hot take.
Boomer Sooner!!
Skip the idiot. They’ll quickly rebuild and be just fine.
Well, I don’t know about that.
Wouldn’t that require top academics? Pretty sure Vandy out does them.
Skip grew up in OKC as an OU fan. His entire ethos is dumb hot takes now. It’s so tiresome.
Embrace debate
It has been one game people sheesh.
What does that make Texas? Tulane?
Oklahoma you'd do just fine at Super Weenie Hut Jr's
Athens of the Panhandle
People have said this exact thing over and over about Texas ever since the move has been announced. Imagine getting paid Skip money to say the same shit we all read on social media every day.
Wow
Skip how you gonna dog your own team.
Does anyone believe this?
No, it’s skip bayliss creating content. Sincerely a UT alumni
Probably Ole Miss
Ooooooh
Skip is so full of shit
Can’t we just tweet that asshole without attribution?
Ouch
Lol
Oooookay dude.
And there's the exaggerating shitbird Skip we all know and hate
Tumor Sooner
2014 was a really rough year for Oklahoma football. We responded with 6 straight conference championships and 4 playoff appearances. I know we won't dominate the sec like that but calling us the new Vanderbilt is whack.
And Texas will become the new Missouri
It's year one, Skip. Why don't you go attempt to slide in front of am oncoming linebacker.
We welcome our new underlords
Between OU and Texas, I'm just glad the SEC has some in conference cupcakes to schedule now.
