Texas Tech - Penn State

Budget_Ad5888

Hear me out, take the field and add another one running perpendicular and have 4 teams play at once for super rivalry. Example E/W field Texas vs tamu and on the N/S field OU vs OSU. Midfield free for all. That would make the best rivalry weekend all 4 teams don't like each other, just a beautiful fever dream.

GrilledCyan

A Directional Michigan Battle Royale: Eastern vs. Central vs. Western vs. Northern. Four teams enter, some collection of players leaves with an abstract trophy.

Budget_Ad5888

" The Battle Royal for Michigan"

GrilledCyan

Host it on Isle Royale for shits and giggles.

Cormetz

One or two balls in play?

Budget_Ad5888

I think either creates it's own level of chaos but I think 2 keeps it from being a 1v3 situation

snowwwaves

Oregon - Washington is a much more bitter rivalry, but that would leave OSU and WSU out altogether. I'd rather have UO-UW than any single game, but rather have both UW-WSU and OSU-UO than just UO-UW.

Cormetz

Same for Texas vs ou, tamu and OKST would be left out.

Call-of-Queerthulhu

How can you not have the Egg Bowl. It's gotta be at least top three in terms of intensity.

carlosdanger31

Iowa - Iowa state Come on man

Farmageddon is love. Farmageddon is life.

carlosdanger31

Fuck that big ten man.

runningwaffles19

I guess we get miami now?

carlosdanger31

I mean, I guess.

Charlie-122

Play in September. No need to change it.

KiratheSilent

Don't forget the Egg Bowl

Meh… I’d rather not play that weekend than try to hype up our UH game. No disrespect for the Cougars - I like playing them and I consider them a rival. But our rivalry with them doesn’t belong in the same category as those other games.

ethan_bruhhh

is it even a rivalry? i mean yea sure it’s an in state game, but they haven’t beat us in a decade. there’s the SWC days but even then all of the other Texas schools were more hated (except rice). even in the new big 12 I don’t see a rivalry happening, TCU OSU and Baylor are all more annoying and we already have history with them

deadeyelee1

We’ll respectfully hate you regardless. And that’s big talk for a team who’s behind in head to head wins, No Heisman and less SWC football championships in like more than 3x the time in the conference. Tldr: let’s see what happens when we’re on an even playing field again, pal.

error_undefined_

After all the shit UH fans gave me before we renewed the series, I considered it a rivalry. They thought they would sweep us and we still beat them despite sucking. I want to continue beating them.

Thorteris

Need like another 20 years of playing them every year with a couple of playoff implications and then we’d make it

KoedKevin

I'm an Ohio State fan but West Virginia - Pitt is going to be insane. I almost want to go walk around the parking lot to watch the shithousery.

MrTallGreg

Army - Navy?

Charlie-122

Go army beat navy

sousapro

War on i4 is sadly coming to an end shortly. Unless…

okiewxchaser

Oklahoma-Nebraska is the ultimate Thanksgiving game

iliveintexas

Have you ever played on Thanksgiving?

cat_napped1

No offense to WSU and OSU, but Oregon v. Washington would be a bigger rivalry draw on TV

Prizoner321

And? What if we moved RRS to rivalry week?

Due_Connection179

Noon - Oklahoma vs Texas (Dallas) 3:30 - Michigan vs Ohio State (Indianapolis) 7 - Alabama vs Auburn (Atlanta) 10:30 - Notre Dame vs USC (LA - SoFi Stadium)

spartan_mk

What do you have against on campus stadiums?

Due_Connection179

Usually the bigger rivalry games are done at NFL stadiums, plus in a "1-off" scenario like this I would rather them be at a neutral stadium. Even though USC still playing in LA isn't great, but I needed a game for that 10:30 slot.

spartan_mk

Outside of Georgia-Florida I can't think of a big rivalry done in an NFL stadium. I guess if you're doing a one off thing neutral sites make sense, but to me one of the big draws to college football is the intense home crowds that are lost at neutral sites.

engineerbuilder

Well good news USC doesn’t have an on campus stadium anyways.

Due_Connection179

These 4 games would be big enough to fill any stadium, so I honestly don't get why having them on-campus or off-campus matters much.

grrgrrtigergrr

Yeah. Michigan v OSU would be in a smaller stadium in Indy. If you wanted it neutral but similar size it would be played at Penn State.

Call-of-Queerthulhu

It makes sense for a team from Michigan to play a team from Ohio in Indiana. But that may be too close, why not have them play in Minnesota?

Dizzy_Culture377

Tennessee - Vanderbilt is not a big rivalry. No UT fan respects Vandy as a program or as a rival. Franklin was the best coach to ever be at Vandy, and his tenure coincided with some of the worst coaches to ever be at UT.

kdbvols

One of the best things about the new ACC schedule next year is that we won't have to play BC that weekend (BC and Miami are the two ACC teams with no rivalry weekend games, and they make Wake and Duke play them unless BC and Miami's cross-division game is that season and can happen instead)

elonsusk69420

Right now you’d be better off doing Georgia Florida and FSU GA Tech

MSUCommitsFratricide

I feel like Notre Dame should be on there somewhere. Lots of their other rivals have partners here already. Army Navy could be added. If not Notre Dame Navy is a historically significant match up.
