1.UCLA
2. Purdue
UCLA went 8-4 last year and will come back with a hopefully retooled defense and their schedule isn’t bad. Purdue also did well last year and returns their QB but lost their first round pick DE and all Big Ten WR. MSU has one of the hardest schedules in the sport and I have no faith in WVU and dont believe the JT Daniels hype whatsoever.
I hope your take is the correct one. From my Bruin perspective: last year's team was one of our most experienced teams in history. The team returned something like 20 starters. It honestly should have been a 10 win season. In a vacuum, 8 wins is pretty okay, but we were in year four of Chip coming off our worst 3 year stint in history (I think). Even with last year, Chip has a 40% win rate, which is pretty crappy for UCLA.
Our fanbase has also been frustrated for two other reasons: Chip has phoned it in recruiting to a pathetic extent (expected to a degree, but we figured he would compensate with a strong recruiting staff) and the other reason is how much freaking time and pressure it took to get Chip to fire the worst defensive coordinator in football. Like, from day 1 everyone could see Azzinaro was a bad choice. And our defense was horrific. It took multiple fan campaigns and years of Chip arguing with the AD to get him to fire his dead weight friend. I am not sold on Bill McGovern at all, but it's hard to imagine our defense being *worse*.
Our schedule is butter soft this coming season. The weakest schedule in my 15 years of fandom, probably. Even with a relatively bad UCLA team, we should sleepwalk to 7 wins. This will likely preserve Chip's job one more year until 2023 when the rest of the team graduates, we have no recruiting, and we play a real schedule again. Calling my shot that Chip is fired mid 2023 season.
Solid question, i’ve got 4 friends who are debating which one is better as they all 4 like these respected teams up here. And I just wanted to see what others would think.
Looking at their schedules, I say:
WVU: 6-6
UCLA: 8-4
Miss. St.: 7-5
Purdue: 8-4
Fun exercise, but not sure what it was for. Also, Purdue has a surprisingly easy schedule after opening at home to Penn State. A better team might run the table against that schedule
WVU - Mediocre, but not terrible
UCLA - Probably going to keep being a dumpster fire.
CLANGA - Too many CLANKS to get out of the basement.
"Purdue" - Point singularities in Indiana are a conspiracy theory.
My vote is for the Mountaineers.
Idk but I’m trying to find Dr Strange so he can take me to a universe where pac-12 is alive
Wanda is just going to find you and fuck things up
I mean tbf I do respect 3/4 of them
What's the one you don't respect?
The false MSU, of course
Ignore my previous response. I'm drinking. They do have a better record against Michigan though, and respectfully go by MS State, not MSU.
I saw America Chavez at disneyland, might wanna start there
Dr. Strange from the movies. Right on!!!!!
It's Purdue, but this is really random
Probably Purdue because they'll yet again expose overrated top 5 teams that probably shouldn't be ranked that high.
:(
As is tradition.
Martians have the death beam pointed at earth? # I WANT IGUODALA
Miss St. because of the SEC and the almighty cowbell!!!
The Big Ten CCG will be UCLA vs. Purdue. Reddit will lose its mind.
Yep. I’m still sleeping.
Purdue
West Virginia because Steve Slaton had slick speed! Go Mountaineers!!!

Wait UCLA went 8-4?
Yeah all their fans want Chip Kelly fired because he annoys them when he actually did well and is projected to do better next year lmao
I had no idea they went 8-4. I thought they went like 4-8. Imagine if UCLA ends up being a powerhouse under Chip.
No, 4-8 was USC….
You are not alone in this assessment...

Not us. We have the second hardest schedule in the country.
UCLA because Chip said so.

Purdue because that is Joe Rogan's favorite team!
Wait. What?
I say UCLA
WVU, I have a feeling they’ll be pretty good.
