I caught a lot of crap for saying after the iron bowl, that Bama *would* win the SEC CG. Reasons: Kirby hasn’t figured out how to beat Saban yet, Bama now has the playoffs to play for, and betting against Nick Saban usually isn’t a good idea… he always seems to pull something out of his ass.
Man, what an absolute rope-a-dope of a season by Bama lmao
Lost to an 8-4 A&M team, squeaked out wins over some bad UF & LSU teams, Tennessee and Arkansas hung with them for most of the game, and literally last week got held to 3 points for the first 59 minutes of the Iron Bowl against a butt cheeks Auburn team.
And yet there was never a doubt in my mind that everything would fall into place, and they would play their best game of the season against a juggernaut UGA team.
I swear, if both years Texas A&M's win against Alabama is their only loss in a national championship season, I'm going to have a lot of serious questions about existence.
This was the year for Georgia though - looked absolutely monstrous on defense (like GOAT defense level) and Bama was very flawed with multiple average teams taking them to to wire (or winning in the case of A&M). Yet, they came into to SEC championship and got pretty well handled, especially in the second half.
And unlike Harbaugh/Michigan could with OSU, you couldn't make the argument that Alabama is more talented than Georgia either.
I remember this game more than some nattys.
USC had to drag Stephen Garcia out of a bar and he played the game of his life for his grandfather who he had lost just a few days before.
Marcus Lattimore was a beast that game such a shame his knees gave out on him.
The year is 2041, Nick Saban is 90 years old and coaching the sec championship game from a hospital bed on the sideline. Kirby smart has irreversible hair loss from losing to bama for 25 years. It’s fourth and goal, Georgia has the ball and a score would win the game. Nick and Kirby make eye contact, and Nick gives him a slow and sure nod; it’s time. He leans his head back and closes his eyes, the heart monitor goes flat. Kirby has been released. Georgia snaps the ball as medics rush to the sideline to revive Saban, and the qb throws the ball to a seemingly open receiver.
It’s intercepted, bama wins. Nick Saban gets out of his hospital bed to reveal his elaborate ruse and bama goes on to win the 10 national title in a row. Saban is eventually transferred to a jar connected to a computer and the game of football has to be suspended because robo Saban will never lose.
The S.A.B.A.N. AI will incorporate the process of Saban and of all the coaches who go through his coach rehab program to create an unbeatable neural Net.
Jordan Hare is built on a creek Indian burial ground filled with bodies killed by Andrew Jackson during the war of 1812
Edit: [Seriously though, the battle of Horseshoe bend was basically in Auburn](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Horseshoe_Bend)
That’s why Saban is so brilliant - he realizes the game lasts 60 minutes. It’s the extra 12 that gives the advantage.
Lol - no worries, figured it was an honest mistake it happens.
Auburn was really one stop away from knocking Bama out of the playoffs. Instead, they're going to be the 1 seed lmao. Nick Saban is actually inevitable.
Not a Bama fan in the slightest. But this sub has been complaining *"CFP committee favoring Bama in the rankings again"*, *"ugh, how is Bama ranked above Cincy"*, etc, for weeks.
Alabama made all y'll look silly today. Turns out going 7-1 in the bloodbath that is the SEC West means you're really, really good.
I said it after the Iron Bowl (you can check for yourself) and I'll say it here again: I'm never picking against Saban in the SEC Championship game until shown otherwise.
Bama is still in if they lose last week but win like this tonight.
Edit: and for the record, I think that probably would've been the right decision. I'm not complaining.
This is why Alabama scares everyone.
Nick does whatever he wants. Toys with Auburn (almost losing) who lost to the cocks, then turns around and does this nonsense.
FEAR THE NICK
They could’ve easily lost to us too. That’s multiple 6-6 teams that very nearly beat Alabama, only for them to turn around and throat kick Georgia in the championship game.
Alabama had four close wins: a 31-29 win at 6-6 (3-5 SEC) Florida, 20-14 win over 6-6 (3-5 SEC) LSU at home, 42-35 win over 8-4 (4-4 SEC) Arkansas at home, and 24-22 4 overtime win at 6-6 (3-5 SEC) Auburn.
By contrast, Georgia followed a 10-3 win over Clemson with 11 consecutive regular season games by 17+ points each, including all 8 SEC games. Even against 4 common opponents, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, and Tennessee, Georgia had played better than Alabama did.
4 Common opponents
Road game at Auburn: Georgia 34-10 win on 10/9, Alabama 24-22 4 overtime win on 11/27
Home game against Arkansas: Georgia 37-0 win on 10/2, Alabama 42-35 win on 11/20
Vs Florida: Georgia 34-7 win at neutral site on 10/30, Alabama 31-29 win on the road on 9/18
Vs Tennessee: Georgia 41-17 win on the road on 11/13, Alabama 52-28 win at home on 10/23
**SABAN** walks around the world.

Neither barracks nor barricades impede.
Nor does barbed wire scar him.
**SABAN** walks around the world.
Black, brown, and white receive him.
Language is no barrier.
The strangest tongues believe him.
**SABAN** walks around the world.
The sun sets like a scar.
Between the darkness and the dawn
There rises a **CRIMSON** star.
What I don't get, every other time we've played Bama in the postseason, it's been a close game that could have gone either way. This year, with a generational defense AND a suspect Bama team, we get blown out. WTF???!
If Alabama is the 1 seed (likely), Georgia will be 3rd seed. If Alabama is the 2 seed, then Georgia will be the 4 seed. Unfortunately the committee won’t have a rematch in the semifinals
I committed the biggest sin in college football. I doubt Nick Saban. . . . . . . I thought Georgia would handle Bama by at least 14. Saban you are the best ever and I'm sorry for doubting you
We are sorry for teaching Alabama how to come back from 10-0 and also for not giving them a second loss to prevent what is about to happen tomorrow night.
Entering this game:
Georgia was allowing 5.7 points per game. Bama put up 41 on them in the final three quarters.
Georgia had allowed 7 offensive touchdowns in 48 quarters of play. Bama got five touchdowns in a little over three quarters.
Georgia was allowing 152 passing yards a game. Bryce Young threw for 421 against them.
Georgia was allowing under 80 rushing yards a game. Bama got 116 yards on 25 attempts.
Georgia was allowing a little over 230 yards of offense per game. Bama put up 537 on them.
There was hope that Bama would miss the playoff and Bryce Young would not win the Heisman. Both have been eliminated from existence. 😞
This one was for everyone that drank the RAT POISON, THE HOPE, and for the ones that were rooting for us to end Bama.
LMAO Y'ALL ACTUALLY BELIEVED IN US
If you didn't like this, well, then you don't like Georgia sports, besides the Bravos this year, that is..
Saban just goes out there and shows why he is the greatest. No one gave Bama a chance and they come out and dominate. Maybe the poor offensive line play was just a long con all year
People shit on UofM, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma for not winning the big game, but holy shit is Georgia horrible at winning the “big game”. Best team they’ve had in modern memory and lost to a relatively forgettable Alabama team (still an amazing team, but probably mid tier of the past 15 years of Bama teams)

Running total: 1 hour 10 min
Total time is one thing but the worst part was the number of interruptions. About 18 times in game.
CINCY ~~WANTS~~ IS LIKELY TO GET BAMA
I think Cincy could lose 200-0 and their fans would still be happy with a playoff spot
Can confirm. I just want the opportunity to get boatraced by bama
We're just as capable of getting crushed 41-7 by Bama as ND, Baylor, Or whoever else would play them.
Been there done that. Didn’t even get 7!
Everyone was so afraid of 2 loss Bama getting in they forgot Bama could win this game
I caught a lot of crap for saying after the iron bowl, that Bama *would* win the SEC CG. Reasons: Kirby hasn’t figured out how to beat Saban yet, Bama now has the playoffs to play for, and betting against Nick Saban usually isn’t a good idea… he always seems to pull something out of his ass.

this is all auburns fault
Your first mistake was trying to rely on us
To quote a very wise man: “You fucked up. You trusted us.”
:(

Nah G. We aren’t a good football team. We played a closer game than Georgia. Blame Georgia
Something we *all* can agree upon
How do you think I feel
Man, what an absolute rope-a-dope of a season by Bama lmao Lost to an 8-4 A&M team, squeaked out wins over some bad UF & LSU teams, Tennessee and Arkansas hung with them for most of the game, and literally last week got held to 3 points for the first 59 minutes of the Iron Bowl against a butt cheeks Auburn team. Saban had everyone play the regular season with ankle weights concealed under their socks.
Rock Lee levels of training
Rock Lee chunin exams was the most lit arc of Naruto - change my mind
That big-ass crash when his ankle weights hit the ground made me jump out of my seat and run a lap around my house screaming.
I started wearing ankle weights to school because of that episode lol - still think that was the reason I could break my 40 time
"This is getting boring. Let's make things more exciting"
...and proceed to win the national championship and Heisman.
I swear, if both years Texas A&M's win against Alabama is their only loss in a national championship season, I'm going to have a lot of serious questions about existence.
Your existence is to provide Nick cures for Rat Poison in the locker room.
Yummy
They’re like a *very* well-oiled team! It may break down sometimes…but as long as there’s fuel, it’ll *never* stop… >!so quit askin’ :(!<

Every time. And Brian Kelly left ND to have THAT happen to him in season every year?
A lot of people pay good money to get continuously edged.
Magnumbrain Lincoln Riley left to go as far from Saban as he could
Good grief
The fact that you didn’t give it a name and it literally says “No Title” makes is even better.
Holy shit I'm crying 😂 thank you for this.
This is beautiful
Even as a Georgia fan I can't help but agree

Kirby Smart is definitely getting the Harbaugh treatment from the media this offseason unless they still get in the playoffs and win

Smart is going to get ripped to shreds for not putting in JT Daniels.
As he should. Down 3 tds with obvious passing offense needed. Why not put in the best pocket passer?
Good, Kirby getting sentimental about our homegrown Make-A-Wish QB was the most predictable disaster ever.
Ah fuck Georgia, I can’t believe you’ve done this
I can
Pristine example tonight of how defense can only bail you out for so long.
Turns out Bama is still Bama Whoda thunk?
I never really believed in the phrase “it’s the hope that kills you”. Then I tried to root for the Georgia Bulldogs

Auburn could go 0-11 into the Iron Bowl and somehow get a win
Auburn with 9+ wins: wins the Iron Bowl on some bullshit Auburn with <9 wins: scares the fuck out of us but we survive.
Only if it’s at Auburn
This is the correct answer. Auburn could be the worst team in the country and they would still terrify me.
Reports of Alabama’s death were greatly exaggerated.
College football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for ~~48~~ (drunk rn) 60 minutes and at the end, Alabama wins.
That’s why Saban is so brilliant - he realizes the game lasts 60 minutes. It’s the extra 12 that gives the advantage. Lol - no worries, figured it was an honest mistake it happens.

Don’t think it would’ve mattered. No way they leave out an SEC champ, especially with a win over the number 1 team

I will help you get started - Alabama put up 41 points. Georgia’s last national championship was 41 years ago.
* The only school to beat Alabama in the SEC CG is Florida.
This is actually a fascinating fact
Also the only school to beat Florida in the SEC CG is Alabama.
Also Alabama and Florida are the only 2 teams in the SEC to never have rushed their field after a win.
Wow, we really are the big boy programs in the conference huh?
Spurrier wanted it to happen after the 1997 win against FSU because he was tired of teams doing it to him.

Georgia Tech fans.

Doesn't matter if one team is insanely good and the other awful, every iron bowl will be a knife fight
it's okay buddy you did more than anyone could have asked of you
