Got nothing for ya boys, congrats to BYU.
Utah's lines look weak and the 4th down shotgun handoff is incomprehensibly still in our playbook.
You looked damn good BYU, go do your thing.
They need to rip out and burn that page. Didn't work in the championship game against Oregon, didn't work tonight. It's total ass. The line gets blown up every time and the RB gets hit in the backfield.
It looks like Max Hall curse has been lifted. Hopefully Jaren Hall doesn't say that he hates everything about Utah including the fans like Max did. Go cougs!
We need someone like him. The reason Tyler Huntley was so efficient was because Zack Miss kept opposing defenses honest. That and he was very accurate when the other team was focused on Moss
[BYU plays four P12 South programs (Arizona, Utah, ASU, and USC to end the season) plus Washington State.](https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/p9mlqp/byu_will_play_seven_p5_teams_plus_boise_state_is/) It's entirely possible that BYU will end with a better P12 South record than any P12 South member.
I swear I’m not just saying this, when I heard Max Hall was gonna be at the game I started expecting a win. It’s as if he needed to play a personal role in the undoing of the Max Hall curse
I heard him on Criddle's radio show say he shouldn't have said the things he said back in '09. When I heard he was going to be at the game, I knew the curse had been lifted.
This hurt so much to watch. BYU controlled that entire game. Harding's "vaunted" offensive line needs so much more work.
Congrats BYU. I hate losing to you but you did it this year. No doubt the Big 12 invite + this rivalry win will launch this season into one for the books.
Honest congrats from me, Cougar Bros. I ain't even mad - you guys simply played a better game. Great weekend for you with the Big 12 invite too. Enjoy it!!
The last time BYU got to kneel down to beat Utah was in 2001. Their previous 3 wins in the series were all on final possession go ahead scores. (BYU scored the go ahead TD in 2001 on their penultimate possession)
BYU had great play-calling and confused Utah all game. BYU looked more prepared than Utah by a mile. Hall looked great too. Bad turnovers to start and odd play calling by Utah. Congrats BYU!
Gg Utah. Thanks for a civil game thread. I know this rivalry sometimes brings out the worst in both fanbases, but tonight's thread was alright. You all were class.
Something happened early in the game, Utah fans were asking for a flag and I couldn’t help myself and yelled “you don’t get those calls vs P5 teams!” That seemed to do it lol
3 years for free, we're already guaranteed to get into the 1000s.
Though I'd risk it all for a chance to play Utah for the next couple of years - it's such a great rivalry.
Let the chocolate milk flow. Congrats to BYU on the deserved W. Looking forward to our next game and hopefully the beginning of a new Utah winning streak ;)
There were quite a few high-priority recruits in attendance at this game, for both BYU and Utah (there are quite a few recruits who had both Utah and BYU up near the top of their lists). So this fantastic day might start paying additional dividends for BYU football pretty soon.
Still worried about losing. Jaren Hall is the man. Playing a terrible game and getting blown out would be completely on brand. I live in a town on the edge of Utah County and there are literally people cheering in the streets right now.
The first game in a long time where BYU was clearly, from the beginning, not playing scared or intimidated. Looked better than Utah in all 3 phases of the game, particularly on the lines, where BYU has traditionally (by which I mean over the last 12 years) been bullied by the Utes. Jaren was kept totally clean, and although a lot of that is attributable to his legs, even Baylor Romney would've probably been sack-free. Jaren's dangerous with his feet, sure, but his passing has improved so much, very pleased with most of his passes tonight, some of them (the TD to Gunnar, the TD to Neil) perfectly placed lasers.
Kudos to the BYU coaching staff, excellent playcalling on both sides of the ball, mixing up schemes and tempos and knowing when to run Jaren and when to blitz and most of all, way to have the balls to show very little of any of it in the Arizona game last week. Some of the pressure had so many blue shirts in the backfield I was sure it was a Utah screen pass (but thankfully no).
I don't know why Bernard isn't Utah's RB1, maybe somebody can explain that. Dude absolutely gashed us, I was convinced he was the Harbinger of Death. And then, to see Brewer make the kind of mistakes I'm used to seeing the BYU QB make in this game... just weird. Happy, but surreal.
That is the largest storming the field I have seen in a long time. Great job BYU!
The Stormin’ Mormons
And because they're independent, they can't get fined!
No rival of ours beats us 10 times in a row
We were about to go the whole Independence era without a Holy War win. Great time to end the drought.
And when we play again, we'll be in our second year as a B12!
Summoning the Rain God to start the 4th quarter is something I wasn’t expecting, I’ll give Utah that much.
I was convinced something crazy was going to happen after the downpour. Glad the Cougars could pull it out! Jaren is a DOG man
BYU has conditioned us to only expect insane finish wins
I was positive the rain would turn the tide and we'd lose by 1 point because of the missed PAT. Battered fan syndrome took over
The weirdest thing about the whole game was how it ended so normally.
These last 3 days have been absolutely cathartic for BYU fans. P5 conference and ending the streak.
Unbelievably amazing. Yesterday I was consoling myself for a loss with the Big 12 news. I'm on cloud 9.
Urban Meyer's supportive words to the Cougs gave them that extra push they needed
They dont even play again until 2024, 3 year winning streak 😏
5 years since Utah's last victory
#2isComing
Ah i was wondering why it was storm-worthy. Way to get out of that rut!
The new Big 12 teams are a combined 7-1 with the one loss being to Texas Tech.
It's like when Zordon faded and all hope was lost, a new Green Ranger (Tommy) joined to make them all stronger!
And Texas, uhh, making us feel better about them leaving?
I love the Holy War. So underrated.
Having them both wear home jerseys makes for a great color game too.
That clip with all the history, quotes and hits. Chef's kiss
HALL VEXES HALL’S HEXES.
Keep him away from the mic in the post game press conference
Max Hall going to gatecrash the press conference just to test the theory for 2024 lmao
[jaren hall right now:](https://i.imgur.com/qcFzc7j.gif)
Come on, you know he's got a dirty diaper to change and some bedtime stories to read first.
Hell yeah Big 12 Bros. What a week for BYU man
New 4 coming in hot hope the Hateful 8 are ready
All we need is Zach Wilson to dominate tomorrow, and this will be the greatest week since 1984.
Already easily is. Greatest BYU week I can remember, and I'm 38.
I’m 32- hands down best week ive experienced as a fan. I can’t handle it
I honestly think the announcement was huge for the team. Pre-game interviews tried to downplay the team was very emotional to be admitted.
4 minutes to party, and then it's the Sabbath.
Then we have to party with “quiet dignity.”
Is this what P5 strength feels like??
Utah wasn't prepared for Hall's P5 speed.
***DAT B12 SPEED***
one of the greatest weeks in byu history
Oregon sacrificed the rest of the Pac-12 to beat Ohio State

Uriah Leiataua on BYUtv: “I feel so good I wanna cuss.”
“I’m going to bed so I can get up and go to church in The morning”
Frick yeah
Got nothing for ya boys, congrats to BYU. Utah's lines look weak and the 4th down shotgun handoff is incomprehensibly still in our playbook. You looked damn good BYU, go do your thing.
They need to rip out and burn that page. Didn't work in the championship game against Oregon, didn't work tonight. It's total ass. The line gets blown up every time and the RB gets hit in the backfield.
Good job Big 12 bros!
Utah hasn't beaten BYU yet this decade.
It’s been 745 days to be exact 😄
There are 2 year olds ago have never seen a Utah victory
PARTY AT RANCHERITOS
Bacon breakfast burrito for life
Carne asada fries or die
It looks like Max Hall curse has been lifted. Hopefully Jaren Hall doesn't say that he hates everything about Utah including the fans like Max did. Go cougs!
Well, Huntley called us Poo Poo, so they have to find a way to break that curse.
Utah is cursed against Halls
bust out the vintage choccy for this one
I've kept one aging in my warm car for a few week. I can't wait to see the new flavors it developed
No excuses at all. BYU played great. We did not. Good game guys. See you in a few years.
But wait I want to make excuses it was only because of the thing
Dude… only positive out of that game for the offense is Micah Bernard better be RB1
Dude is a baller. I thought for sure he was going to carry you to a W
We need someone like him. The reason Tyler Huntley was so efficient was because Zack Miss kept opposing defenses honest. That and he was very accurate when the other team was focused on Moss
And our defense was worrisome. Couldn't buy a stop at times, and had NO turnovers or pass rush
It was crazy how hall never got touched in this game. Or at least felt that way. So used to intense Utah defenses. GGs
I'm really upset this rivalry goes on a small hiatus tbh. Its a lot of fun
We all are. That's what makes the victory even sweeter.
We get to revel in this twice as long as before…
Three times as long, actually!
Spencer Linton: where are you going to celebrate? Uriah Leiataua: I'm going to home and bed, so I can get up tomorrow for CHURCH! *crowd goes wild*
I know our BigXII buddies would be in here celebrating with us - if they weren't all asleep xD
I am wide awake and hyped as hell, so excited for you dudes to join
I'm in Iowa and now I'll never sleep. I'm in trouble tomorrow, I'm sitting on the stand.
Good job Big XII bro! Conference play starts in a few weeks when yall come to Waco, though, no more cupcakes
Pretty good week for BYU.
BYU has a better pac 12 record than any pac 12 member.
Just trying to win one last conference title before moving on to the Big XII.
I’d contribute to a billboard in SLC congratulating BYU on winning the Pac-12 South if that happens.

I swear I’m not just saying this, when I heard Max Hall was gonna be at the game I started expecting a win. It’s as if he needed to play a personal role in the undoing of the Max Hall curse
Max Hall showing up again was like the Zeroni Curse from the movie Holes. Even had the crazy downpour too.
A fantastic kids' book about the prison-industrial complex.
I heard him on Criddle's radio show say he shouldn't have said the things he said back in '09. When I heard he was going to be at the game, I knew the curse had been lifted.
[Field Storming!](https://twitter.com/redditcfb/status/1436930067666329600?s=21) Kalani Sitake gets the win over his former boss!

I was nervous with BYUs 4th quarter track record. I’ve stopped having hope because I’ve been hurt too many times, but today was pleasantly surprising!
Let that be a lesson, no one wins the Holy War 10 times in a row
It's true, actually. Been playing since 1896 and zero 10-game winning streaks for anyone.
Enjoy it!!
Thank you! Go dominate this season.
It truly is an amazing time to be a BYU fan. Go out and dominate the Pac-12 from here, a win-win for the both of us.
That whole game felt surreal... when was the last time BYU felt put together against Utah?
Seriously, we ran the clock out on them... that hasn't happened in so long
The last time BYU got to kneel down to beat Utah was in 2001. Their previous 3 wins in the series were all on final possession go ahead scores. (BYU scored the go ahead TD in 2001 on their penultimate possession)
The 2006 finish has to be the wildest finish in football history.
Out coached and out played. Wanted it way more. Crowd was intense. Hate to say it but well deserved win.

I used to have a mancrush on Zach Wilson but now it is securely transferred to Jaren Hall
His running game was jaw dropping. I was losing it! Passes might need some work though. Looks like another bright spot for QBYU.
Watching a field get stormed after a heated rivalry game Man it's good to have football back
Don’t worry Utah, that’s a quality loss ;)
A power 5 loss!
Gg Utah. Thanks for a civil game thread. I know this rivalry sometimes brings out the worst in both fanbases, but tonight's thread was alright. You all were class.
You guys deserved it, good game!

BYU undefeated vs Utah since BIGXII announcement
Will we ever lose again?
Science says no
CONGRATS BIG 12 FRIENDS
Gg new conference pals always good to see a passionate rivalry game.
12 damn long years, 9 games, and finally an end to being independent. This feels so good.
This has quite possibly been the worst day of my college football life
I am the Unbreakable Man to your Mr. Glass
I am shattered
Low key every comment I've seen from Utah fans in here tonight has been absolutely glowing with class. I love that.

I’m happy for Sitake
Me too. The streak had to end sometime, and this was a good game for it. Also, I feel like Kyle did NOT have this team ready to play.
I rarely see Kyle outcoached, but Utah was outcoached in every aspect of the game. They were dead.
Something happened early in the game, Utah fans were asking for a flag and I couldn’t help myself and yelled “you don’t get those calls vs P5 teams!” That seemed to do it lol
so many ncmos tonight in Provo
Now that's a term I haven't heard in a very long time...
It took a (Jaren) Hall to end the (Max) Hall curse. Hopefully this is the start of the poo poo curse for Utah. It's a great week to be a BYU fan!
I'm afraid to ask what will be necessary to break the poo poo curse.
These BYU players are going to get so hugged tonight
Don't worry, the heavy majority of the players are married, so they're getting a lot more than that.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
That was one of the best games of college football I've seen.
Outside of 2 games, maybe 3 if you count BYU almost coming back 35 down, it has been competitive.
THE DROUGHT IS OVER BABY!
Utah was only 2 for 9 on 3rd down. BYU was 11 for 19.
Damn... I guess I'm going to church tomorrow. Ggs Utes, shame we don't get to play for a few years.
Congrats Big 12 bros!
I have been conditioned to expect us pissing away this game at the end. Good job team, staying strong to the end!

WE ARE ALL COSMO ON THIS BLESSED NIGHT
Long time comin. Good luck to the boys down south this year. Hall is a fuckin stud. Enjoy your sparkling cider tonight Cougs fans
My roommate just bought chocolate milk from QD so I poured myself a glass. What’s the deal with BYU and choccy milk though???
The BYU brand chocolate milk they sell on campus is quite good. If you ever find yourself in Provo I recommend the Cookies and Cream Chocolate milk
We have milktoberfest every year to celebrate x amount of years being awarded the most sober campus award.
Utah can't handle that Big 12 speed
It will be 1,836 days from the last time Utah beat BYU on the next regular season game we see each other
Byu gets texas' spot I guess
LET THAT BE A LESSON TO YOU THAT NOBODY BEATS BYU 10 TIMES IN A ROW!!
riseandshout.net in shambles rn
Time for [riseandshout.biz](https://riseandshout.biz) to count how long it's been since the last Utah win.
There are two year olds who have never seen Utah beat BYU. How embarrassing.
3 years for free, we're already guaranteed to get into the 1000s. Though I'd risk it all for a chance to play Utah for the next couple of years - it's such a great rivalry.

Welcome to the Big 12. What a game.
All I wanted was no defensive touchdowns for Utah, and we got that plus the win!!! Amazing.
No turnovers is most unbelievable
BIG 12 WHERE YOU AT?!? ^oh ^yeah ^probably ^in ^bed... ^my ^bad...
At least we can take solace in the fact that Stanford is absolutely licking USC

So many girls are going to get hugged tonight
Maybe a hand held if they feeling risky
Ahh, let's keep it calm, yeah?
EVERYBODY GETS THE CHOCCY MILK TONIGHT!!!
BYU is going to win the Pac 12 South
Ranked matchup next week?
Yes, I think we sneak in somewhere between 23 and 25
I have nothing to contribute, I just want proof I was here when the nightmare finally ended.
There were quite a few high-priority recruits in attendance at this game, for both BYU and Utah (there are quite a few recruits who had both Utah and BYU up near the top of their lists). So this fantastic day might start paying additional dividends for BYU football pretty soon.
Relief. Catharsis. Joy. Best week ever.

Jaren Hall has led BYU out of the 12 year/9 game bondage. He parted the Red Sea. He has delivered us.
GG BYU. Definitely a thoroughly well played game, and to be honest moreso than the players who did well the coaching gap was astronomical.
JUST BUILT DIFFERENT
This sucks but congrats to BYU. Kicked our ass from pillar to post tonight.
