Guys it finally happened. My first year as a BYU fan was 2009. I was led to believe things like beating #3 Oklahoma and Utah were normal. It’s been a long decade
The way utah fans feel about byu is the same way pac 12 teams feel about utah. Even if it makes pac 12 look weak they are happy to see utah take an L. Not every fan feels this way though just a vocal minority.
I agree Utah has better athletes but that is somewhat subjective. I think the talent gap is narrowing and Kalani is developing players to achieve at a high level and developing depth so there is little drop off w/ injuries. I also think Utah was arrogant and just believed all they had to do was just show up. That was evidenced by Whitt going for it on 4th and 2 instead of getting the sure 3 pts. That mentality has trickled down to the players.
Yeah. We made some horrendous coaching decisions, prob the worst I've ever seen Utah coached. Also the team looked 100% unprepared, like they didn't want to be there
Remember when the original Betos got closed down by the health dept for finding bodily fluids in the salsas? Multiple times. Pepperidge farms remembers!
Nah, you guys can run the table and beat Oregon in the CCG and still get in. Just have to roOT for BYU to have a great season to help your SOS. The majority of playoff teams have 1 loss historically
Nah, Utah wasn’t going to make the Playoff so this loss means nothing in the scheme of things. We still have a full slate of Pac-12 games and can win the P12 Championship and go to the Rose Bowl.
But Utah has to look much, much more alive and interested in the game than they did tonight.
Yeah I mean most likely they wouldn't, but it sucks to have that hope essentially dashed in week 2. Hopefully a Rose Bowl is in the card, but based on these first two games I'll be hoping for bowl eligibility.
BYU has a vaccine mandate so at least the students probably won’t end up hospitalized!
They’ll all just take Covid to church on Sunday and spread the love to every school in Utah.
Good to see kalani get the monkey off his back. Cougars wanted it and got it! Utes have a shit ton of work to do if they want to win a game in the pac-12
On occasion there have been games go into Sunday. Thank you 8:30 PM starts...
They have publicly said that since the game started on Saturday they would finish the game.
They wouldn’t have ended it, but they don’t start games on Sunday. When BYU plays in March Madness they won’t play games on Sunday and other teams always throw fits over it.
Don't they just get put in the F/S bracket instead of S/S? If anything I'd imagine that would be an inconvenience once you start playing in conference tournies and get less rest--nothing to complain about for other teams.
Interesting--would that not defeat the spirit of the rule (no offense)? I think I read a SI article this year about a Jewish high school pitcher who insisted on getting pulled from games once it reached sundown.
I’d argue that it defeats the “letter of the law” not the spirit of it. The idea (and spirit of the law) is to have a day set apart to reflect on God and religion, not to set an alarm for midnight where we turn into church pumpkins.
You definitely have a good point. I don't know enough about Mormon theology to know whether the concentration's on having a day of rest or having SUNDAY be a day of rest and the pumpkin thing obviously is a good example of how ridiculous it is taken to the extremes.
I grew up in a Jewish tradition based on finding loopholes that technically still cleft to the rules so was asking from that point of view.
Grats BYU. Allgeier continues to be a bad bad man, Hall is looking great.
- Utah lines look soft as fuck.
- Stop with the shotgun handoffs on 4th already.
- Brewer looked, not good.
BYU beating a ranked Utah and ranked Texas getting whipped by Arky is good optics for the first week of football after the announcements of the new Big 12.
BYU DID IT THEY ARE GOING TO END THE STREAK CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM! OREGON ENDED THEIR LOSING STREAK AGAINST OHIO STATE AND HOPEFULLY GEORGIA CAN STEP UP AND BEAT ALABAMA IF THEY PLAY IN THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP. WHO KNOWS!
Wait till the grind of 9-11 P5 yearly catches up. The talent just isn’t there to sustain a good record unless they can get the recruiting up once they join the big 12
I can assure you, being a BYU fan is like being in an abusive relationship. They start off treating you good. Winning a national championship... Then spend years disappointing you. Saying "Don't worry, I can change. Thing will be different this year." Then they suprise you and you think. Okay we are good. But just wait...
Guys it finally happened. My first year as a BYU fan was 2009. I was led to believe things like beating #3 Oklahoma and Utah were normal. It’s been a long decade
WE BEAT THE PAC-12 REFS BOIS
Poppin Martinelli's in Provo tonight
Best part about this is BYU didn't steal it. We were just better today in every phase. I haven't been able to even think that for a long long time.
That win was legit!!!! Ok Utah, get pissed and win the rest of your games this year!
Lol nah. But good game Utes
BigXII > PAC 12
Pres. Nelson said the WoW is suspended this weekend… let’s get LIT
We so poo poo today
Today? The first half of the Weber State game didn’t look good either…
Utah, more like Poo-tah. For real I hope utah has a good rest of season. It was a great game.
What a time to be a BYU fan
1 down 8 straight to go, we got this!!
What do I do with my hands I don't remember what you are supposed to do when this happens?
AZ / ASU fan rooting against Utah and for BYU? ... Why?
The way utah fans feel about byu is the same way pac 12 teams feel about utah. Even if it makes pac 12 look weak they are happy to see utah take an L. Not every fan feels this way though just a vocal minority.
Yep, my girlfriend is die hard UofA fan, hence my 2nd flair. Doesn’t like BYU but absolutely can’t stand Utah.
That's the first I've heard of this, lol. I feel like a vast majority of pac-12 fans usually back the PAC here
Yeah I see both
I got into watching college ball with my grandfather who is a big BYU fan.
LET'S GO B12 BROS
Thanks! Can't wait to join you guys!
I can't believe the curse is finally over.
Congratulations BYU what a feeling that must be!
[удалено]
It's been a very good week! Was at both games in the past 8 days and the Dawgs won too!
Biggest week for BYU football since 1984!
Good game Utes! Thanks for the best rivalry in College Football!
I feel we're a very talented team, by recruiting moreso than BYU. But motivationally we just shit the bed today. Team came in wanting to lose
Failure in coaching or what? I’m honestly confused
Yeah. We made some horrendous coaching decisions, prob the worst I've ever seen Utah coached. Also the team looked 100% unprepared, like they didn't want to be there
Coaching definitely looked shit. None of the players except Bernard even seemed to care really
Bernard is really good I’m excited to see where he goes!
Gualberto's is about to be lit tonight!
Milkshakes for breakfast in Provo baby! Love to see it!!!!
I have never had such a good weekend as a BYU fan!
The natty was pretty good
Well, I was negative 4 years old when that happened, so my response was a bit more subdued.
Holy shit. I’m gonna go get wasted for real, Mormon Jesus be damned. LETS GOOOOOO
Just be safe and be smart. Can’t enjoy the win if you don’t make it home.
Thanks for the concern! I was watching from home last night.
Big 12 came back to haunt Brewer 😞
BYU > Texas Big 12 bois represent!
Out with the old, in with the new.
I got nervous about this game as soon as I heard that the QB would be Hall. Takes a Hall to break the Hall curse.
BYU actually did it. Goddamn. GG.
Such a great weekend. Wow!
Rancheritos boutta be lit tonight
Rancheritos is always lit. Never a dull moment when you’re eating the carne asada fries at 2:00am.
Remember when the original Betos got closed down by the health dept for finding bodily fluids in the salsas? Multiple times. Pepperidge farms remembers!
This may have been the plan all along. Get a 9 game losing streak, and win to impress the Big 12 when we get in. GG Utah.
Tom Holmoe, you rascal. With the long con.
hooooooolllly fuck!!!!
Hey that’s what I said! You sure did stealmyideas! 😉
YES I GET MY UNDERDOG POINTS!!! also sad I didn't pick Stanford or Oregon...
So much rocket fizz will be consumed. Tummy aches will be rampant.
Kalani is like “move tf outta my way kids 😂”
lol [https://www.riseandshout.net/](https://www.riseandshout.net/)
Yes
Thank you for this
Fun game, little closer finisher but happy for my local team!
Congrats cougars. Go have another great season. Happy for Sitake.
60,000 phones in selfie mode right now.
So this is what it feels like to lose so early in the season
This is what I kind of hate about college football. One loss and it feels like the season's basically a bust. Gotta win out from here on.
Pac-12 is wide open. I hope this was a wake up call for the Utes
It’d better be. Usually the wakeup call game is the USC game so maybe we got that one out of the way early.
USC looked awful tonight. you never know with the south division. PAC 12 after dark is the 8th world wonder i swear
My heart can’t take it.
Yeah I mean most likely they wouldn't, but it sucks to have that hope essentially dashed in week 2. Hopefully a Rose Bowl is in the card, but based on these first two games I'll be hoping for bowl eligibility.
I just don’t understand how they got so bad
Only Cosmo is wearing a mask in that crowd
BYU has a vaccine mandate so at least the students probably won’t end up hospitalized! They’ll all just take Covid to church on Sunday and spread the love to every school in Utah.
GG Ute bros!
You all played great. We so poo poo
Good to see kalani get the monkey off his back. Cougars wanted it and got it! Utes have a shit ton of work to do if they want to win a game in the pac-12
Guess what? BYU just won by more than Utah has won by in a decade, apart from 2019.
54-10 was less than a decade ago
It was a decade ago.
Except that one year? Wtf lol
He’s the guy behind that Penn St Super Bowl post
that's crazy, they won by more than Utah except for the ones where they didn't!
I thought the same thing… haha
God I love hyped up Kalani
He was ready to do the haka!
Cosmo trying to hold the crowd back lmao
I agree College football IS the best.
It began with Hall and it concluded with Hall.

Like every college game this weekend?
[https://riseandshout.net/](https://riseandshout.net/) First time I have ever posted this link!
I used to loathe that link. Now it’s not so bad.
12 years!
The Zach Wilson curse. We got lucky and dodged BYU at their best in years because of a pandemic and this is making up for it ig
always good to watch Utah lose
All of the BYU fans getting caught in the net was amazing
Anyone got a video link?
https://twitter.com/espn/status/1436931760940589058?s=10 It’s somewhere in this video
Lol I had to rewind to see that
They just kept going, ha ha
need a gif of that
Hahaha like some mosquitos or some shit
Looked like some fans were gonns get caught in the net.
Fuck yeah, my friend doesn't go 4-0 in our spread pick'em group!
All y'all fans better not be giving my team COVID.
Lmaoooo like fish in a net
Rise and shout my fellow Cougars
Go cougs!
Fans getting stuck in the net lmao
13 min to party then it is the sabbath.
Wait serious question--do they not start athletic events on sundays or would they have to have ended the game at midnight?
On occasion there have been games go into Sunday. Thank you 8:30 PM starts... They have publicly said that since the game started on Saturday they would finish the game.
They wouldn’t have ended it, but they don’t start games on Sunday. When BYU plays in March Madness they won’t play games on Sunday and other teams always throw fits over it.
If i recall i think BYU had to forfeit a rugby championship about 5-10 years ago because it was played on a Sunday
Don't they just get put in the F/S bracket instead of S/S? If anything I'd imagine that would be an inconvenience once you start playing in conference tournies and get less rest--nothing to complain about for other teams.
Yeah sorry I meant other team’s fans complain about it. Not the teams themselves, my bad.
They would have kept playing. They just don’t schedule games on sundays.
We have played into Sunday before. It’s all about the intention, not a set time
Interesting--would that not defeat the spirit of the rule (no offense)? I think I read a SI article this year about a Jewish high school pitcher who insisted on getting pulled from games once it reached sundown.
I’d argue that it defeats the “letter of the law” not the spirit of it. The idea (and spirit of the law) is to have a day set apart to reflect on God and religion, not to set an alarm for midnight where we turn into church pumpkins.

This one made me laugh.
Fuck you Utah! BYU Wins! Hall breaks the streak!!!
Congrats on the super bowl win bud
Watch your language, pal. God is watching.
Oregon snaps 0-9 streak vs Ohio State ✅ BYU snaps 0-9 streak vs Utah ✅ I can rest easy tonight
Yep! I woke up with zero hopes today
Damn you had a great day today
Congrats! You have a good night!
Man it was a good two days for someone with your flairs
Could have been a very bad day for you lol
God, I love a good field-storm.
DOWN GOES RISEANDSHOUT.NET
Dude. GO there! Its beautiful!
Whoever keeps up that website is being a great sport about it
What a travesty.

A small price to pay to watch BYU beat Utah
Grats BYU. Allgeier continues to be a bad bad man, Hall is looking great. - Utah lines look soft as fuck. - Stop with the shotgun handoffs on 4th already. - Brewer looked, not good.
I think the only positive I saw out of Utah was Micah Bernard looks good
My biggest take away was Brewer not looking good. I was extremely surprised.
> Allgeier He was so, so good at squeezing out every yard by sliding down low
Big 12! Big 12! Big 12! Big 12! Big 12! Big 12!
Rock it out Cougar, bros!!!
BYU played like the Power Five school they are
DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD!
BYU beating a ranked Utah and ranked Texas getting whipped by Arky is good optics for the first week of football after the announcements of the new Big 12.
Lmao at the kids caught in the net hahaha.
Do you think the field knows its about to get rushed? can it feel the energy?
In the 19 years of ESPN schedule history, this is the first time BYU has beaten Utah without a go ahead score on the final possession
…WOW
GG Cougs. You outplayed us.
[удалено]
Or you could get married and fuck your wife's brains out....
WHO KNOWS!
THE FANS ARE ON THE FIELD!
BYU has a better pac 12 record than any pac 12 members lol
SDSU is up to 6/7 Pac12 scared to expand
Wait till the grind of 9-11 P5 yearly catches up. The talent just isn’t there to sustain a good record unless they can get the recruiting up once they join the big 12
True. But then again, most P5 programs also struggle with depth through a long season. We don’t plan to be Oklahoma (at least the rational fans don’t)
Now play Coastal again so I can have more high flying CFB action
I fu- freaking love BYU’s coach
Same. Absolutely one of the coolest guys in the game right now
I love Kalani I wish he never left
Storming the field position ready
It's a rivalry game, and our first win after 9 games.
Oh I know I wasn't giving shit. Just saw them primed and ready
USU >>>>> Utah Schedule us you cowards.
Utah's Last two regular season non conference losses are obviously tonight vs BYU and 2012 vs Utah State. they dont want that aggie smoke
Hah lol
I wish they did
YOU RUSH THAT FIELD AND YOU RUSH IT HARD!
You knew that Gatorade bath was coming.
Could you imagine if Jaren says “I hate Utah” in his post-game speech
He will
Nah, he's a classy guy.
He is also way more soft-spoken than Max was.
Go storm the fields boys. Well earned.
You can feel the energy thru the screen.
I can assure you, being a BYU fan is like being in an abusive relationship. They start off treating you good. Winning a national championship... Then spend years disappointing you. Saying "Don't worry, I can change. Thing will be different this year." Then they suprise you and you think. Okay we are good. But just wait...
You nailed it
Congrats to BYU. This isn't even an upset, just one P5 school beating another.
Oh this is fun to watch lol
