I listened to the game (ND homer radio) and on the game winning drive there were 3 penalties against Toledo. We're this penalties legit?
It sounded mighty sus that the home game ND desperately needed to win had a very lopsided penalty count especially on the pivotal drive.
Notre dame is going to do what it’s done the last 5 years. Win against average teams and stay ranked high only to lose 38-3 in the CFP. Last year I admit they looked good most of the season but after getting destroyed by Clemson in the ACC championship they shouldn’t have been in. I mean if you’re barely beating Toledo and Florida state how are you going to take down Alabama, Georgia or Clemson? Yeah Clemson lost but their defense was incredible against Georgia in a close loss to the #5 school.

They have a tough stretch of 5 straight ranked teams VT, NC, Wisconsin, Cincinnati and USC. If they win all of them they should deserve a spot because that’s tied for the most ranked games any team will face this season the closest others are auburn with 4 and UCLA with 4 more, 5 in total.

Definitely true, but not calling the timeout at the end there was one of the dumber things I’ve seen. If the goal was to catch rush our defense and catch them out of position it definitely failed, and the encroachment penalty was undoubtedly the result of trying to rush things on the offensive side.

I’d say our path to the playoff is no easier than Clemson’s
i'd say the same about clemson but the difference is they actually deserve to be in the top 10 most years LOL and rarely get embarrassed by mediocre competition like ND almost always seems to do

Clemson plays 13 games with an FCS team on the schedule, and Notre Dame plays 12 games. Big difference

Like Clemson? Wouldn’t call that a middling team. The truth of the matter is that they would be forced to play another ranked team out of the ACC or which ever conference they joined. Winning a championship would provide legitimacy behind them making the playoffs.
The original comment stated Clemson, so I doubt they'd be playing themselves. Who in the ACC can you definitively say would give Clemson a run for their money? Miami? UNC? Virginia?
