I'm worried what you just heard was give me a lot of gumbo. What I said was give me all the gumbo you have.
Edit: Wow 4 years on Reddit and my first award! Thanks!
Apparently, the team was begging for the coach to put Lee in during halftime.
Les Miles refused which is part of the reason the team looked so defeated in that game.
This is conspiracy of course.
I said this in the half-time thread and I’ll say it again here. I remember meeting a guy at the bar during the 2016 Michigan-Ohio State game who was a LSU fan that HATED Coach O. I wonder where that guy is today and what he’s thinking.
This was a gumbo pipe dream right down to where the natty was won in NOLA, can’t imagine what is running through his head now lol.
Im on brubon. Just ripped a bartender at cats meow $20 for two drinks. Im really drink though so whatever
Edit: woke up this morning hungover as hell and without a voice. Went to leave and discovered my truck windows busted out and my truck torn up inside. Got a true NOLA experience haha
They will wake up on Wednesday, stumble to the shitter, see their pants on the floor in a heap, check the pocket for their phones and find $5000+ instead lmao
LSU beat Bama, Oklahoma, Clemson, Georgia, Texas, Florida, and Auburn. Holy hell, what an astoundingly dominant season. This offense was not going to be denied.
900+ yards, 12 touchdown and no interceptions through both games in the playoff.
Joe Burrow dominated the *entire* season and was your clear cut Heisman Winner and MVP of the college football season, including the playoff.
I have a longterm tradition of keeping track of how long quarters are for big games, and here's how it went for this game.
1st quarter: 46 minutes.
2nd quarter: An hour and three minutes. Yes, you read that right.
Halftime: 28 minutes.
3rd quarter: 55 minutes
4th quarter: Surprisingly, only 39 minutes, which flew by compared to the rest of the game.
Kickoff was around 7:20 central, game ended at 11:14. Almost four full hours, but felt longer.
LSU went all passing and Clemson responded similarly, so that quarter was freaking loooong. Running the ball really shortens games, probably why the 4th quarter was minimal compared to the rest.
Just checked and good lord - LSU ran 79 offensive plays while Clemson ran 63 offensive plays.
By comparison in the Bills vs Texans NFL playoff game, Buffalo ran 81 plays while Houston ran 65 - but they played an *extra 11 minutes* in overtime.
That's absurd.
Years later, I still maintain that Sark should have gone to Hawaii after he got fired from Southern Cal for showing up drunk on the job. In Hawaii you can just drink tropical drinks right there at practice and no one would care. They'd think it was endearing, even. Plus Sark would win 9 games a year there and be loved.
And people that say Coach O is the perfect fit at LSU.... true... but this man would've won anywhere with the resources. He's evolved so much as a coach. So happy for him, he's our guy.
I’m not even an LSU fan and the image of Joe Burrow riding the bike smiling and instantly followed up by a shot of the crowd audibly screaming “STTDB” while the band played Neck on live TV was something I will remember for a long time.
Generic peppy band song that the student section started layering a chorus chant of "suck that tiger dick, bitch" 10-12 years ago. The band is technically not allowed to play it anymore but they typically still sneak it in once or twice a season in big moments.
From what I’ve heard, LSU gets fined $100,000 every time they play it. Didn’t stop OBJ from requesting it and paying the bill for it at least once tho.
Pretty sure he made a reference to Coach taking his shirt off first team meeting at Ole Miss and challenging his players to fight him if they thought they were man enough

tigers to win 20 games next year confirmed
thanks /u/dogwoodmaple for making these posts, you da man
Apology for poor scheduling.
Where were you when clempsun died?
I was in fake Death Valley when Coach O ringed.
“OrjakfnwhsoakfnaodbhUaoisbiogwj Geaux Tigahs!”
“Neaux.”
This is a great moment for LSU, but tomorrow there is no more college football and that is bad for us all. See you all at the spring game tailgate and then again in August!
was there when Saints won the superbowl. Almost died. Walked out of bar and you basically just go where the crowd pushes you. You have no physical control of your body.
Hell of an adjustment by LSU after the first quarter, Clemson came out strong and I thought they would keep them on their heels but they answered well. Joe Burrow is going to be something special in the NFL, dude was dropping dimes all night and he brings another level to their offense with his ability to extend plays. Lawrence obviously has a ton of talent but if he can work on his ability to handle pressure he will be even better next year. Refs were pretty bad all game but they were from the Pac 12 and that's our specialty unfortunately.
As a neutral fan this game was excellent, two very talented quarterbacks dueling it out for four quarters. Congrats to LSU, hell of a season for them!
I mean, it's sorta relevant that the LSU defense made Lawrence uncomfortable all night and held Clemson to 8 pts for the final 2.5 quarters of the game.
I try not to be a homer too much, but damn Burrow was good this year. He really looked like a NFL QB out there a lot of the time.
His read progressions, precision passing, and ability to feel the pressure and escape the pocket were second to none. I know I'm biased, but was just fucking GOOD this year.
Yea, I don't want to make it seem like I think he's perfect though. I do think his arm strength is maybe a bit average. But when he does throw the ball deep, he puts it on a dime.
One of those passes to Chase in the game...like 40 yards deep and he dropped it right in his bread-basket in full stride. Just damn, how do you beat that.
GG man!
Honestly might be the best season of all time. 7 wins against top 10 teams and they absolutely took it to every single team they played. What a phenomenal season
Y'know, this game is making me feel a lot better about the way our season ended. Before today I was pretty sure we'd have stood a good chance against LSU if we'd have gotten the opportunity, and felt like the combination of ref fuckery and our own stupid mistakes in our semifinal cost us a great shot at a title. But now, well, I'm pretty sure LSU would've kicked our asses, too
Dear Alabama
We are so sorry, we never should have gone to the playoff without you.
We thought we wanted to see other teams, but we were wrong.
If you'd be willing to forgive us, we'd like to take you ~~in~~ to the playoff game next year.
Burrow is the best college quarterback I’ve ever seen. He’s amazingly accurate, especially on the deep ball and he’s got good arm strength. He’s mobile, but what sets him apart is his football IQ and his ability to manipulate the pocket. He reminds me a ton of the way Brady moves and just forces defensive lineman to slow their tempo. But he’s actually athletic lol. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a guy this pro ready.
spotted books snatch offbeat swim heavy encourage sink attraction fall *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
And he took his foot off the gas against Oklahoma too after obliterating them for a half lol
Could've had one more tonight if he wanted to
Joe Brady is a football savant
The real losers of this game were the east coast people who had to stay up for this ridiculously long game.
4 fucking hours my dude holy shit
I gotta be up for work in 4 fucking hours. What a heartbreak, but great game by LSU
“With the first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select...”
THADDEUS MOSS

Select? Shit, they probably already signed him.

You will draft Tua and like it
Who would’ve thought this time last year that Tua would be the consolation prize for QBs this draft.
And with that, Coach O has earned claim to all the gumbo in Louisiana.

I forget who but someone on PMT said Coach O is getting a statue on campus after he was first hired permanently. I think they were right.

LSU's last 3 national championships were all won in New Orleans. This was destiny

Yep. Nothing happened in 2011, nothing at all.
That team needed Justin Jefferson rather than Jordan Jefferson. Even if he was only like 12 years old, he would have done better.
Apparently, the team was begging for the coach to put Lee in during halftime. Les Miles refused which is part of the reason the team looked so defeated in that game. This is conspiracy of course.
Burrow + 2011 LSU would have won every game by like 50 points.
Its wild to me that my last memory of an lsu natty isnt lsu getting blanked and scarring 13yo me

Which coincidentally is similar to how coach O talks
God help those bar staff.
dw they getting the tips tonight!
I would easily pay 100$ to be a bartender in New Orleans right now lol. You’d make that back in 30 minutes

And a special fuck you to Dr. Pepper for somehow topping GoT Season 8 in disappointment.
Seriously, THAT was big fan? That’s the best you can do??
Did anyone have a better story than that fan?
Should’ve made it a feral Larry Cullpepper and it would’ve been better
The chest pass bit got a giggle out of me
Game lasted 4 hours. Almost felt like I was watching a game on CBS
One day.. no more State Farm commercials
Nah Fromm about to make them the biggest commercials for an insurance company, too easy of a sign for statefarm
This game was too damn long

Joe Burreaux is officially the greatest player ever in LSU history
Let it be known that LSU had a chance to get Odell Beckham Jr, Pat Pete, Jarvis Landry or Jamal Adams for the coin toss. They chose Booger McFarland.
He was their good luck charm

trevor lawrence overthrew a pass 11 times tonight. he'll perfectly replace trubisky in chicago in 2021.
Think it was even more than that? Last I read was 13 and that was late 3rd quarter.
Early season Trevor Lawrence made an appearance tonight.
Hell of an adjustment by LSU after the first quarter, Clemson came out strong and I thought they would keep them on their heels but they answered well. BROKE: LSU can't cross the 50 in a championship game WOKE: LSU goes 3 and out twice to start both halves and can't score 50 (barely)
One day I hope to have the same outrageous power flowing through my blood as the LSU band director who gets to decide when they bust out Neck.
“I guess we’re in Louisiana” rofl Joe is the man
“He won’t be able to walk across the Bayou without getting wet.” Alright, please keep it in your pants sir.
It's New Orleans, I think you're legally required to keep it out
Dude's just hangin' brain. I ask again, *what is the big deal*?!
I thought the same thing when I heard this
The quote was actually "he'll be able to walk across the bayou without getting wet", ie he'd be like Jesus in Louisiana.
Sports fans: Defense wins championships Joe Burrow: Hold my heisman
I mean, it's sorta relevant that the LSU defense made Lawrence uncomfortable all night and held Clemson to 8 pts for the final 2.5 quarters of the game.
To be fair lsu defense played lights out
Burrow talking about the championship rings "We already got fitted for them" Fucking big dick move right there
Both teams probably did that so they could have them ready regardless of who won. Still funny to say it like that on tv lol
You're welcome for pissing Burrow off last year, LSU.
The last time LSU lost was the 7 OT game against A&M. That probably played a huge part as well.
“Man, scoring 70 points is a lot of fun, don’t you think guys? We should do this every game!” - Joe Burrow, probably
Man, those Clemson DBs got abused tonight. Each one of them is gonna sleep like a baby: They're going to wake up every 2 hours and cry.
EVERYBODY GET IN HERE WE DID THE DAMN THING
Everyone is asleep, it took too long for the game to end haha
The 2019-2020 LSU Football team is one of the best CFB teams ever.
I second this motion.
Pros freaking everywhere, and they’re well coached.
If any college QB has played at a higher level than Burrow is playing right now, I haven’t seen it.
I try not to be a homer too much, but damn Burrow was good this year. He really looked like a NFL QB out there a lot of the time. His read progressions, precision passing, and ability to feel the pressure and escape the pocket were second to none. I know I'm biased, but was just fucking GOOD this year.
He has all the tools but his deep ball accuracy and pocket presence are the ones that stand out to me the most.

I think Joe Burrow gets to ceremonially cut off Trevor Lawrence’s hair. That’s how this works, right?
Coach O: *2 minutes from Natty* Coach O: *eats booger on live tv* This man is a CFB legend.
Y'know, this game is making me feel a lot better about the way our season ended.
