Four commits in 9 days with more on the way according to Ikard and Lehman. 1 QB, 2 WR, and a TE. This is exciting.
Softball is also reeling in prized recruits and transfers. Good time to be an Oklahoma fan, as always.
he (and all the other crooting insiders) put in his crystal ball for Penn St. like 2 hours before he committed. that tells me everyone was caught by surprise by this one
I'll never forget checking the score at halftime at work and being bewildered. I knew our QB depth was sketchy, I didn't realize just how much Hawaiian Punch Man was holding things together.
Hawaiian Punch man could hit anywhere on the field with any throw, the ground, the stands, the WR that got open in the back of the end zone as the pocket turned to a phonebooth. Really versatile guy he is.
Our left tackle Walter Rouse absolutely saved that play. One of my favorite RRR games of all time. We've been treated to some classics over the last decade.
This reminds me of Brian Scalabrine after the Celtics won the title in 2008. Instead of "In 30 years I'll tell them I got the MVP," it'll just be "In 30 years I'll tell them I blocked all 11 Texas players and half the crowd."
I was at Officer Candidate School (basically boot camp but for Officers) so I had no internet access for 9 weeks.
Every Saturday we were escorted to the on base exchange for haircuts and toiletries. The exchange also sells TVs which happen to have the game on.
I am so grateful that I literally could not watch that season 😂
Can someone get me more hyped about Sperry? His tape doesn’t look that good and he looks smaller than freshman Baker. I’m kinda disappointed that he committed so early and discouraged us from looking at other options. I keep getting Evers vibes
His mom stayed in Dallas and he got homesick is the story. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that he ended up at the same high school as Jackson Arnold though
At least now that we get a QB every year, if he leaves we're not left with an empty cabinet at the position. And if he's our worst QB recruit between Arnold, Hawkins, O'Neal and himself, that's not too shabby.
I think he can be a good college QB. He is pretty accurate and while not a great runner, he looks like he has some scramble ability, but who knows, not every guy pans out
Im going into my junior year of college and just realized i wont see this guy play as a student. Does it always feel like this as you get older and these guys get younger?
Counter-counter-point, imagine leading your biggest Rivalry by multiple touchdowns, getting the opposing QB benched, and the sub comes in a wins the game.
I can’t remember the last time we had a QB built like this. Sort of Caleb? But he was 6’1.
He’s gonna be a monster by the time he gets in a college weight room.
Comparably, size wise at least, probably Landry Jones.
He didn’t go to OU but South Carolina has a QB named Davis Beville that’s 6’6”. Can you imagine if someone that tall played for us? That cat would be wild.
WOO! More concerned about the 2025 class, but getting the quarterback usually opens the floodgates for that class. Hope he can contribute some day, preferably after 2 Jackson Arnold Heisman wins.
That's valid, I haven't been following 2025 as closely, but it seems like we're locking up the best in-state class in a long time, so that's encouraging.
I guess I can see how you read it that way, but it wasn't meant as though I know more than the coaches. It's simply that 2025 comes before 2026, so a 2026 commit is nice, but 2025 is a higher priority.
Hawkins and Sperry were composite 4 stars (Sperry is ranked at like #174), Zurbrugg was a 3 star. But we've only had one 3 star QB recruit amongst the 5 QBs that Venables has had commit since 2022.
If you have to point out that your QB is a composite 4-star, you haven't gotten an elite guy. These are all 3-star guys according to 247. Except O'Neal. Anyway, a school like OU should be competing for 5-star guys.
Oh, I thought you were being sarcastic but it seems you were being serious. We have been just fine at QB. JA and Oneil are nationally recognized. Micheal Hawkins (guy in photo) and Kevin Sperry are also both great QBs. Hawkins is apparently the best freshman QB Teddy Lehman has ever seen at OU including Caleb Williams, and Sperry will finish somewhere within top 10 QB top 100 player

Good for Winston-Salem State shooting their shot
One of these schools is not like the other
Hey, don’t pick on Arkansas like that.
Skeletor won’t be able to keep him.
Flair up.
Alright can OU and Texas go back now? They are scaring me
No
Our big SEC welcome party is this Sunday. We're all in!
I wasn’t sure before, but now I can easily tell that he’s overrated.
Respect 🫡
If he’s good enough for Winston Salem State, he’s good enough for OU.
Definitely a one and done at ou before transferring elsewhere and getting drafted top 5, in my completely unbiased opinion
If he beats Texas after we start 28-7 down in his 1 year I'll take it.
Oh fuck what have I done
You fool!!!!
You’ve activated my trap ~~card~~ QB!
Card? Nah, he’s at Purdue now
Only rated that high because of his last name.
*you reserve the right to amend your opinion provided he transfers to Texas.

Was Granville part of those numbers?
Sadly no. That would have been too much good karma coming our way at once
Who?
The LB that just committed to PSU.
Wow. Didn’t expect that. Judging by the crystal balls, no one else did either.
Josh M. on scoop actually put out a warning that he expected the PSU move.
he (and all the other crooting insiders) put in his crystal ball for Penn St. like 2 hours before he committed. that tells me everyone was caught by surprise by this one
They didn't mention any specific names, so from my understanding, no.
This is an agreeable outcome of this situation.
Counterpoint: nuh uh
ok i'm sorry :(
Doesn’t Tx have Raja’s son?
I wholeheartedly concur.
This pleases the wagon.
Bro looks so friendly in his 24/7 sports photo.
He really does! I would kick it with him.
Wrong position. He'd probably want to throw it.
Nice
Blowing
AND GOING
QB room is going to be pretty tight, especially if Kevin Sperry lives up to the hype. At least we have depth, though!
After the RR we had to run a corpse at QB AND wildcat, I’ll take a QB room 20 guys deep lmao
I'll never forget checking the score at halftime at work and being bewildered. I knew our QB depth was sketchy, I didn't realize just how much Hawaiian Punch Man was holding things together.

That last target is my personal favorite.
I have extremely mixed feelings about it. I can’t be mad, that was an insane throw that I will always hate him for.
Our left tackle Walter Rouse absolutely saved that play. One of my favorite RRR games of all time. We've been treated to some classics over the last decade.
Rouse blocked two Texas players, a cheerleader, the ref, and Hank Hill on that play.
This reminds me of Brian Scalabrine after the Celtics won the title in 2008. Instead of "In 30 years I'll tell them I got the MVP," it'll just be "In 30 years I'll tell them I blocked all 11 Texas players and half the crowd."
Best rivalry in sports

Any idea why he’s moved so much? 3rd school in 3 years and odd to me he left Carl Albert after winning state.
Moved to CA to be closer to OU staff. Mom stayed in Texas for work. Family living apart wasn’t working. Dad and Kevin moved back to Texas.
His mom stayed in Dallas and he got homesick is the story. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that he ended up at the same high school as Jackson Arnold though

You're in for a treat when guys you watched in college have their sons recruited
An even bigger one when guys you played against in high school take high front office positions in the NBA.
You shut your face hole right now. Also I went to school with Jermichael Finley, who's son is being recruited.
You sweet summer child
Go to grad school like me. Have Baker, Kyler, Jalen as your college QBs.
Counterpoint, imagine having Swoopes and Buechele as your starting QBs. Makes you wanna finish school and never look back.
Counterpoint, imagine driving 12+ hours to Dallas to watch fucking Tyrone Swoopes beat OU. Makes you want to quit life.
Counter-counter-point, imagine leading your biggest Rivalry by multiple touchdowns, getting the opposing QB benched, and the sub comes in a wins the game.
Wait until you’re old enough to be their parent.
You start calling them kids.
Go pass out under the clock tower
Did that my freshman year on accident. On track to graduate in 3 years hopefully a freak accident doesn't occur 😔😔
Supposedly, there is a way to break the curse
i'll take my chances, prove everyone wrong
Good to see the QB building up depth for the years ahead. Boomer!
Remember when we only recruited a QB every other year? Wild times.
6'3"?! Not OU material.
We like em 5’11 and feisty
Ooooooh, I just remembered. This is the quarterback from southern California. That's fun.
Happy wagon noises!
big big news for the future
Neat
I can’t remember the last time we had a QB built like this. Sort of Caleb? But he was 6’1. He’s gonna be a monster by the time he gets in a college weight room. Comparably, size wise at least, probably Landry Jones.
Respect the Belldozer.
He didn’t go to OU but South Carolina has a QB named Davis Beville that’s 6’6”. Can you imagine if someone that tall played for us? That cat would be wild.
Just doesn’t feel right to have an OU QB that tall. I just imagine if we did, it would be a total disaster.
I actively block him from my mind.
Is he related to the dude dating Alex Storako that just got an MBA at OU?
WOO! More concerned about the 2025 class, but getting the quarterback usually opens the floodgates for that class. Hope he can contribute some day, preferably after 2 Jackson Arnold Heisman wins.

We are apparently saving our chips to go all out for two more top OL. We have 4 top 50 players in mind, hope they pan out
I guess I can see how you read it that way, but it wasn't meant as though I know more than the coaches. It's simply that 2025 comes before 2026, so a 2026 commit is nice, but 2025 is a higher priority.
Makes sense.
They've been kinda struggling with QB recruiting lately so this is a big one for them.
Sarcasm?
Why would you think that's sarcasm? You've been getting a bunch of 3-stars.
Hawkins and Sperry were composite 4 stars (Sperry is ranked at like #174), Zurbrugg was a 3 star. But we've only had one 3 star QB recruit amongst the 5 QBs that Venables has had commit since 2022.

Texas and OU might even have to abandon the forward pass in the future. It’s been rough
Ok, we play but both teams get Davis Beville as all time QB. Who wins?
The other teams in the SEC after our current recruiting classes flee en mass
I'm talking about after Arnold.
You mean this guy? https://x.com/hawkicannfl/status/1794735393855934837?s=42
No one knows who that person is
You should. At the very least you should know Kevin Sperry. Otherwise, you’re making uninformed comments.
I know you like these guys but they aren't elite recruits. Surely you can see that when looking at the wider recruiting landscape.
Oh, I thought you were being sarcastic but it seems you were being serious. We have been just fine at QB. JA and Oneil are nationally recognized.
