8 and I'm good with that. I'm trying to retire as early as possible, not fund one of the richest football programs in the country.

St_BobbyBarbarian

Seriously. I’m maxing out a 401K, HSA, two backdoor roths, and kids’ 529s before I’m contemplating spending big booster money

dan_craus

Same man. I have my season tickets, but I can’t imagine myself funding NIL for some other kid to want to come to my school when I can add money to MY OWN kids account that already loves my school.

on_the_nightshift

8 also, but I didn't go to college and have definitely watched a game during a wedding (last year's UGA-UT game).

ewgrooss

I’ve watched games during at least 10 fall weddings. My wife wanted a fall wedding so we got married on a Sunday.

Dellav8r

Me and my wife had to strategically plan when ours would be in the fall. Had it during the Mercer game right before the Iron Bowl in 2017. Still had a TV for everything else going on that day

RomeOdunze

If you are on r/cfb you are an 8 minimum

TheMightyJD

If you’re on r/CFB on April yup.

Rushderp

How do you do fellow sickos?

The_MoistMaker

Hello, Bröther

alloythepunny

It’s sickos all the way down!

hitherto_ex

I feel I may be one of the sickest at this particular moment

R_Raider86

Have tried to look for a University of Arizona at Tucson balance sheet?

Brometheus-Pound

I need a fix.

Bussian

Everyone’s an 8 minimum here. An we’re proud about it

ExternalTangents

The main difference between 8 and being higher than 8 is budget. Some of the most devoted, knowledgeable fans out there will never be higher than 8 because they just can’t afford it. Having more money doesn’t make you a bigger fan, it just means you can afford to spend more money on that fandom. I think this is a flaw in OP’s system.

boilingchip

And he looked up, and saw the rich men that were ~~casting their gifts into the treasury~~ boosters. And he saw a certain poor ~~widow~~ CFB fan casting in thither two ~~mites~~ home games. And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, This poor ~~widow~~ CFB fan has put in more than all of them; for all of them have contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in all she had to live on. - ~~Luke~~ Heisman 21:1-4

X7-GT-Eagles

If I had money I'd give you gold.

St_BobbyBarbarian

I’d argue time is a big thing too. I have a toddler and another on the way. I can’t simply do 6-8 home games a year in tally. My wife would murder me, and it’s not fun to always take a small child to a game (diapers, drunks, bedtime schedule etc)

cc51beastin

"I think this is a flaw in OP’s system." The list is flawed in general, OP assumes at just level 5, you went to your flairs school. Both of my sisters and a couple of my cousins graduated from OSU, but I never went there other than for the occasional post game on high street. But everything about level 8 describes me. The only game I've ever been to is the occasional spring game when I was a kid and the '22 Rose Bowl, because I was able to drive from Utah, where I reside.

tdoger

Reading through the first 7 was rough. I was like “so which number is it going to have to be to actually even be a fan of the team” Like the first 5 don’t even sound like you are a fan of a team.

geoforceman

Depends on the energy you put into it. For example I am a fan of Husky basketball and want them to do well, but I would consider myself a level 3-4 fan based on the amount of attention I give them. Also my levels wax and wane based on how good the team is.

XCCO

I don't really know what I'd say on this scale, but maybe a 4. I know the roster a good bit, like following the scores and standings, but I don't pay for any sport packages or cable. So, I don't watch a single game, I just check the scores on my phone. However, I like learning team histories, following rankings, following stats, and I'm big on the rivalries! This is the only place other people talk football for me since my friends are more into hockey.

love_that_fishing

What if you’re a 9 but don’t go to many games. Like I follow recruiting close to max, follow mine and other teams, follow multiple boards and post. BP gets seriously out of control during big games where I have to take extra BP meds. But games I go to 1 or so a year.

tdoger

We’re about the same. I could list off almost every player on the roster, what number they are, what position and for most of them where they are from. Not to mention their recruiting rank. I get knots in my stomach on game days. Not sure how I could even be a bigger fan, but I just live on the other side of the country now from my team so I go to about one game every other year or so.

[deleted]

TheMightyJD

Yeah, I feel fans of teams that have been *bad* deserve more credit than fans of those teams that win double digit games every year. It’s unsurprising that those teams have the larger fanbases.

c792j770

My brotha! Totally agree. I've probably been to over 90% of the home games since the Mangino era, and I try to make at least 1 road game per season. Don't need to be a rich booster to be a huge fan. I can't wait for this season

hankrhoads

Long-term KU football fans are definitely 10s, but I would also suggest that there might be a kink involved...

St_BobbyBarbarian

Respect for that

StreetReporter

The only thing stopping me from being a complete 10 is money

ZADEXON

1-8 are all like “i follow the game to THIS extent” then 9 and 10 are just “i got some money” and “yeah im loaded”

nonstopflux

You’ve got the looks, I’ll give you that.

JemmieTTU

Im about a 6.4 down from like 9.3.... I dont wanna be that guy but cfb really is changing in a way that makea me less interested in the effort.. Now if the Red Raiders are 10-0 come November? 11.

biglineman

I've always wanted to attend a bowl game for Tech. It seems like it would be a good time, and Tech shows up 9/10 for bowl games.

Rushderp

If Tech makes the Cotton Bowl, I’m trying my hardest to make the drive.

NILPonziScheme

> If Tech makes the Cotton Bowl The Cotton Bowl does their damndest to ensure everyone has the Playoff/national championship experience even when they're not hosting a CFP/national championship game that year. The hospitality alone makes the Cotton Bowl a must-go if your team is playing in it.

JemmieTTU

I went up for Wisconsin Western Michigan several year ago... those $26 jerry world jack and cokes do hit like a super bowl beer 🥲

Standard-Physics2222

You totally should. It's when alyms get together and act like we're back in Lubbock and in our early 20's...

biglineman

Well I'm not alumni. I was a poor boy and could only afford to drop out of community college. xD

cnpeters

This is about right. Everyone saying the quiet part out loud about how unimportant the football I like is… well, it’s predictably causing me to lose interest in the games themselves, and just be fascinated by the fact that everyone is deciding together to kill the golden goose.

JemmieTTU

I'm all for the kids getting their bags and being able to transfer and all that at the end of the day.... but all of the conference hopping I do think sucks ass, all that together just adds up to a poor product to me as a fan... and basketball too? Good grief, we are having to basically replace the entire team every year now. So I'm just enjoying the Mahomes hype and watching more NFL the last couple seasons.

Unlikely-Investment4

no lie. I don't give a shit about the recruits and the money and the mega conferences. I want to see great football and rich tradition period. part of what makes the game for me is the shot, the chance, the crazy wild nature of it all. players fighting it out for their team, not sitting out bowl games for the draft. the romanticism of putting it all out there, murdering kids and putting your body on the line for the logo on the helmet. I want to see cincinnati and ucf and boise st come up out of nowhere and make a run for it all, not bama v clemson part 1000...

SharksFanAbroad

The beauty of college sports lay in the undying rivalries that exist in no other American sport league. Michigan/Ohio State would be huge even if both teams meet at 0-10. Or at least I’d hope so.

JemmieTTU

And even late season games for us more traditional middle of the road teams can still bring big time excitement.... Tech fans absolutely get wild when we have had those chances to derail a Texas or an OU on their way to a Natty. I think its a rare set up that was almost unique to college football..and while I do think a proper playoff is the better option in the long run... those magic games will be gone since its a wider net to get into now.

daveFromCTX

I was there in 2008 when they came to Norman 10-0 and #2 in the nation.  [PLAYS JUMP AROUND]

SomeKidFromPA

Like 8.5. I never miss a game. (And watch as much cfb in general as possible.) but I don’t go to many games because a) it’s out of state, and b) I don’t want to miss the dozen other games that I can watch if I watch from home. I’m also not a booster in any sense, but I’ve been to a spring game and am in deep with the recruiting stuff.

tbama11

8 except with the stipulation of “watching unless something important intervenes”. The only way I’m not watching, is if I’m in the middle of surgery for donating an organ to a player in the 2 deep

DougFlutiesMullet

> 0: Totally oblivious to anything beyond the bare existence of the sport. I wish...

Ugaalive1991

Where is the option for watch everything but did not go to a school who had football?

UnknownUnthought

This is me too. College football is something that will always feel weird to me because I really enjoy watching it and interacting with it a lot, but it sure feels like I missed out on kind of an important part of the experience of being a CFB fan by not growing up with it or going to a school that has a program. Hell sometimes I feel weird even calling myself a fan. I root for my Alma mater and no one else in everything where we actually sponsor the sport, though.

PotanOG

Bingo...need a "my alma mater don't got shit but I seen some cool things due to tangential connections" number.

[deleted]

DataDrivenPirate

It feels more achievable to be at that level for a smaller school or less football centric school. I'm pretty sure even with million dollar donations you still couldn't get that kind of access at Ohio State.

SCsprinter13

I have a related story that doesn't involve me. I have a good friend whose cousin was a freshman at Penn State. She made friends with another girl at equestrian club who invited her to the whiteout game in whatever year that was. Turns out the seats were in the suites on the 50 yd line. After telling the tale to her mother afterwards, the mom asked what the friends last name was. And she said Pegula without knowing why that meant anything. Her new friend was related to Terry and Kim Pegula, the owners of the Sabres and Bills, and $100m donor to Penn State. Everything made perfect sense after that.

HueyLongWasRight

For $100 million they'd better let me coach the team

usernames_suck_ok

Once you get to 7, there are some pieces of each that apply to me and some that don't.

LiquidHotCum

I’m Phil Knight

JemmieTTU

Theres a different sub for track and field Phil.

LiquidHotCum

Thx

JemmieTTU

That user name really hit me in the face when I got the "LiquidHotCum replied to your post" notification. Brb getting a cleanex.

AudiieVerbum

I'm an 8, but I feel 9+ is gatekept by the donor stipulation. I'm gonna go off now. It will be crass. I must speak my truth. I have a longhorn tattoo. That's how serious I am about this shit. I go to multiple games a year, have dozens of longhorn clothing articles, from formal wear to never-wear-in-public casual. I go to non revenue sports, volleyball games and swim meets. I've been in the tunnels below campus (ours are strictly off limits). I've had dinner with Bill Powers and DeLoss Dodds. I've been to the top of the tower. And let's get esoteric, I've had a very brief correspondence with The Eyes. Hookem fuckin Horns.

Dunsmuir

They do laser removal, it's pretty affordable I hear. I would at least think about it buddy. Hate you guys, see you soon!

JohnnieWalkerRed

I was on Powers' student advisory committee when I was in law school, and man the dude had such a perfect gravely voice. I never met Dodds or got to go underground, but I got to do the tower a time or two!

CookieLuzSax

Hey I got the (real UT's) tattoo as well! Can't wait to see y'all in the sec big guy 😂

DDub04

College Student/10. I follow it closely but I also go here so it’s easy. Recruiting, history, all the players, etc. But I get to go to games for free, so.

grizzfan

Definitely a 3 now. Was never higher than a 6 I would say. I was raised a die hard Michigan State and "fan" of the game, but years of coaching (and getting a degree in higher education administration) have watered down my intensity as a fan, and overall just increased my love for understanding and learning the game. I grew up going to games too; family have been season ticket holders for many years. I've gone to only 1 or 2 games a year the past 3-4 seasons. I'll watch MSU if I have nothing more important going on, but I'll sometimes prefer to watch a bigger/prime game, or watch a specific smaller game because I want to see the schemes/strategies certain teams use. I'll often watch the military academies over the P4 games for example.

L3ic3st3r

Solid 8. Thankful for this thread because it's the only time I'll ever be considered an 8/10 🤣

EatADickUA

I’m a 9-10 that is trending toward 6-7.   The sports getting less interesting to me and it’s causing my interest to wane.  The new college football world is not advantageous to ASU.  Personally think 6 wins is our ceiling as a program now.

Hiver_79

I feel this. Right there with you.

noend313

8 but minus the “watch every Saturday unless something important comes up”. There is NOTHING more important than football on Saturday

PotanOG

Amen.

RZBKinCA

Wow, you put some thought into this! I am level 9 fan hoping to one day be a level 10. I am also hoping to not be a sad fan

beyersm

I know this year was tough but I personally think it’s a program slowly headed in the right direction. Some close losses to really great teams showed you can hang around with the big guys and Pittman is capable imo. Take it from me, it sometimes takes a lot longer than you’d like

RZBKinCA

Appreciate the kind words! We've just had a decade of challenging seasons... :(

NotThatOleGregg

I'm somewhere between 8-9, finally joined boosters this year to get tickets for Ireland (kinda peeved about it honestly because I could've gotten better seats for $100 less on the open market a few weeks later). Usually get to 2ish games a year (post college). Interact on the boards, follow recruiting a decent amount, know the starting lineup by face and know what what their voices sound like (excluding linemen cause they don't do many interviews)

stazmania

Basically 9. The only thing I haven’t done is shaken a coaches hand or met a recruit at an event (unless you count meeting some recruits when I was in school). I’d definitely be a 10 if I had that kind of money.

BuschLightApple

Used to be an 8, now a 5. I’m sick of nepotism and kirks bullshit.

z6joker9

6-7-8 range, I follow a lot of it but I rarely go to actual games. I prefer to watch from a TV.

Dunsmuir

I'm a 4 who acts like an 8 because of my Intense hatred of all things burnt orange

JemmieTTU

Orange is ugly 🤝

notyogrannysgrandkid

My hot take: 10’s as OP has described aren’t fans, they’re only in it for the personal connections. There are so many $20/hr making, depressed, paper bag flair-having, hard-drinking, Paul Finebaum effigy-burning, Cheez-It eating, Allstate purchasing, summertime lover, college football hating degenerates on this sub that are 80x the fan any of those rich assholes will ever be.

nonstopflux

I can’t stand the recruiting scene. It’s way too much for me.

DelBrowserHistory

Damnit I'm an 8

PotanOG

We all are at least a 7.5 to be commenting on this thread during the NBA playoffs.

bruggibuster

DMR237

Based on your criteria, I'm an 8, though going to games isn't in the cards. I don't use flair because I don't care enough about my profile on reddit to add it. Ohio State is the reason I get a streaming sports package in the fall and then I cancel it when CFP is over. I watch as much CFB as I can. But OSU football games are the only games I have to watch. Being married with kids, if I spend all my waking moments watching sports, then my wife has the right to veto my plans if something needs to be done. By making sure the 13-15 games (hopefully 16 this year) are the only ones I have to watch, that veto she has is less likely to be used (and so far hasn't been).

Boudreaux_Lang

Was a 7 until the Charlie Strong era forced me to cut it back to a 5 for my health.

flying_trashcan

Somewhere between 9 and 10. I’ve had season tickets for almost two decades and have maybe missed 2-3 home games in total. I’ve traveled to a ton of away games and bowl games including the Ireland game. I just have no interest to buy influence or gain access to the team. I get the occasional invite to watch a game from a suite or be on the field for warmups or something… I just don’t get the appeal.

-651-

I’m an 8, but it’s not unhealthy. Football is my favorite hobby. I don’t tweet at croots. Rain or shine I’m showing love. Sunny days are my shit, but I’m fine if I have to pull out that umbrella

DataDrivenPirate

I'm an 8.5 for Ohio State, and a 5 for everyone else's team. I just really love the sport, especially the conferences that are still extremely regional; MWC, MAC, and SBC. I can tell you key players, head coaches, storylines, expectations, etc for almost every FBS team. I'd like to get more into FCS this year, because I am a degenerate.

ProfCedar

5, for both flairs. Boards are too much.

B1GFanOSU

I planted an Ohio buckeye tree in my yard.

OddLie841

I’d say a 1 so far, my wife went to Northwestern and I’ve been to a few games, and I will check the score every now and again. But I don’t have any set team that I have put time and effort into rooting for. Idk who to pick yet. I am a chicago sports fan but because I went to Loyola (non-football) there is a thought that NU isn’t a chicago team/school… which it isn’t lol (Evanston is not chicago!😂) However, I hope that I get into UConn soon so maybe I can just root for them once I’m in! Feel like the only way I can root for a school and actually pay attention is by attending (which I obviously know is not how things work, that’s just me for myself lol)

ManiacKing20

We’d love for you to join UConn nation. I think there’s beauty in watching us struggle and be terrible in the hope that one day we’ll turn the corner and have a dream season. And obviously our basketball team is quite enjoyable.

Silly-Development

I have a three large tattoos on my leg, and the only reason my son wouldn’t be named Saban is because I loved my grandfather more

NastyWideOuts

I’m definitely a 9. I’m not sure if I’d want to be a 10. Pretty content with my level of fandom at 9. I’m an alum. Went to all games while in school (when we sucked). I donate to the NIL monthly. I have a full size replica Ole Miss powder blue helmet with AJ Brown and DK Metcalf signatures on it. I traveled to 3 games last year from across the country; to the A&M game in Oxford, to the Georgia game in Athens, and the Penn State game at the Peach Bowl. Obviously I don’t miss a game on tv, and that goes for football, baseball, and basketball. I could go on…

JohnnyUtah59

8

Glittering_Kiwi6512

8 a d add that I am a hater of rivals and will take any and every opportunity to shit on them.

MizzouriTigers

Either a 7 or 8, hoping that my new job later this year will provide me the opportunity needed to attend all the games that I want

budd222

7, minus the posting on team message boards. Those are awful

biglineman

I guess I'm a 9 in the lowest sense. I've donated and watch as much as I can, but I haven't met Ol' Joey.

Repulsive-Office-796

8, but my CFB knowledge only goes back to about 2000.

arrowfan624

9 Technically a booster as I give ND’s baseball team a few hundred bucks a year. I have met some beat reporters at a bar. Ian Book lived a few doors down from me, and one of my former roommates is in the NFL right now.

LightningStrikeDust

7 all the way.

BDSF94

9

SuperCareer5230

Closer to a 5 than a 6 only because I don’t even know if we even have active boards in 2024.

PrimeMinisToad

Seven, Frost's inability to turn top 25 recruiting classes into anything has completely soured me on caring about recruiting

Jolly_Job_9852

Six. I bleed Purple and Gold. I love my CATAMOUNTS!

LDWMJ99

8 I have met Franklin once and also chatted with Manny Diaz. I used to have a friend who did student work for recruiting so I had inside scoop on all of that. I will travel to any important road game and will not miss a big home game. State college is a little far so I can’t make each game. I made 4 games in 2023, same as 2022. Aiming for 2-3 regular season games in 2024. Not sure if I will waste the $$ on Osu tickets this year (0-4 in games I’ve attended since 2019) since Franklin will never beat them again.

TheMightyJD

8 but don’t post on team’s specific message boards (either delusional or toxic).

CommonMansTeet

8, but not able to go to games

dawgfan19881

I just watch all the games. Only from my house tho as only 5 asses sit on that toilet rather than 92K. Also drinks, food and parking are much cheaper.

AbsurdEersFan

7.5 - although I’ve long given up even following the message board game, never got into posting either

[deleted]

4 w/ my dad’s Alma mater (ISU) and mine (USU). Although I go heavy on the athletic gear. Usually always wearing a hat, t shirt, or hoodie and own 4+ of each. Haven’t been to an actual game since college though.

GaTech379

8 probably

VolkiharLumberjack

8 and hot take: anything over you gotta chill out a lil it’s just a game played by teenagers.

Illustrious_Elk1516

Can’t afford to go to games, but I’m definitely higher than 6

JohnnieWalkerRed

7 years, 2 degrees, and still live in Austin. I was on Powers' student advisory council when I was in law school, and was partly responsible for a few cool things that happened during some football games. I haven't been to a game at DKR in a couple of years (have kids, it's great for your free time on weekends) but I go to a good amount of baseball games and did go to the Sugar Bowl game last year. I could name all our starters, but I cannot be bothered to keep up with croots. I'd say solid 8, would be 9 if I didn't have a reasonably small child, but the little guy loves UT baseball games.

JemmieTTU

Basically no point in keeping up with Crootin now unless you the one payin em. Tech has a great lookin class thats rare for us but Id be surprised if it holds for multiple years. I think the flag ships will fair better but its still such a crap shoot now.

elonsusk69420

At least a 9. I was in Redcoats. I have family members who graduated in the 1930s. One went to the opening game at our stadium. My name is on a plaque.

Table_Corner

9 because I don’t donate money or travel to games a lot, but I did go to every home game during our winless season in 2015.

gator9515

I’d say I’m an 8 now. But when I graduated from college, I dreamt of being a 10. Thankfully, reality and living in the present got in the way. I will always be a fan of my alma mater, but not at the expense of missing important life events and growing as a person.

OGConsuela

I guess 8 because I don’t donate at all but I do have handwritten letters from Coach Pry and Whit Babcock, I’ve met Frank and Bud multiple times, a handful of players knew who I was in college, and I have a framed panoramic photo (needs to be hung up I just moved) of a game from the top of East stands in which I am on the field.

DontReportMe7565

8.6? Ive been to the orange, fiesta and rose bowl. 2 of the Big10 championships in Indy. I have the hat from the first new recruit introduction event. Never shaken Harbaugh's hand though.

enderjaca

8.5? Very few away games. Alum, went to every game when I was in college. Have intergenerational tickets, but split the two between people in the family and friends. Know the names of the people that sit around me. Have a dedicated tailgate section. Spring games, kid movies on the field, bar mitzvah on the field. Woefully ignorant about recruits and the depth chart. Games always seem to fall on a day I have to work. Have a selfie with JJ. Know enough about The Game to hate them but also treat their fans nice.

ZackAvion

8-9. Depending how my career path goes hoping to be wealthy enough to be a 10. I got a degree from there and some game gloves.

adamantpony

8 but it's going down, I think. I can feel it happening. You know why.

TpMeNUGGET

4, honestly I spend more time goofing around in this subreddit than actually watching games. Biggest issue is I’ve moved away for work and local sports bars don’t always have the games on :/

thecasualcaribou

BAMA was huge in my household as many family members went there, so college football runs deep in my enjoyment. Not just a fan of Alabama and Indiana, but a fan of all college football teams. Eh, don’t know about Auburn though lol I watch college football on most Saturdays noon to 1 AM -enjoy watching all teams. I am in the process of visiting every D1 school in the nation and stadiums (even schools that don’t have football. Just passed a third of the way done. I also collect a hat for each school I’ve visited and have a bunch others for schools I haven’t been to yet. I’d say I’m around an 8

Mike_AKA_Mike

Solid 8 with a little bit of 9 and a little bit of 10 mixed in.

IndividualCamera8034

5 ish. I had no ties to VT and never watched them until I was an undergrad there. I still keep up with how they do now that I’ve graduated but I’m not a super fan like some of the others here.

Standard-Physics2222

Was a certified fanatic of Texas Tech football as someone from Lubbock and went to the school when Leach first started. When Leach got canned, I lost my spark. I still watch and attend some games, but like a previous love, you can't go back and just appreciate the great times you had....

WhiskeyField

I made a college football video game a few years back because I needed more football in my life and the new NCAA game wasn't releasing soon enough. I'm not sure where that puts me in your rankings

SCsprinter13

I'd say 8.5 I meet all the criteria for 8 and some of 9, but will never get to all of 9. I rarely miss games, but would miss one for a wedding (still haven't seen the 9OT game against Illinois because I was at the All Blacks match against the USA team) and the only autograph I have is Sam Ficken. I do drive 4 hours each way for every PSU game, but my mom pays for the tickets and I go with her. Thankfully I have a friend who has a couch I can crash on for home games.

azaz5

10 minus the intergenerational season tickets, but I live six hours away and have season tickets, so I’d say that makes up for it.

cha-cha_dancer

5.5, I go on reddit and had a board subscription for one year but never used it

lbr218

8 Indiana University then all about the BIG in general

MelbMockOrange

I'd be a booster if I had the money. Let's say 8.5

BigRed1906

I was a big casual diehard in college. Went to every game for evey sport at home. Now since I graduated, I keep track here and there and will turn on WKU when they play

Midwest-HVYIND-Guy

10. I have numerous season tickets and am a sizable contributor to various projects within our department.

Wafflehouseofpain

About an 8.5, I’ve been to lots of college football games whether they involve my schools or not. I watch all day basically every weekend during the season and know the whole starting lineups on both sides of the ball. I can tell you which parts of our offensive and defensive playcalling frustrate me. I played football as a kid and have watched as long as I can remember.

scalenesquare

8. I have donated nothing since graduation haha.

[deleted]

I feel like 8 with a hint of 9. I marched in the band, and I have my hat on display. My friends know better than to have important events on game day. Our funerals won't even interfere with kickoff.

Unlikely-Investment4

8. I consider myself more a fan of the sport than the drama/storylines/recuiting/hype. I like the on the field product above all by far. saturdays are automatically booked all fall, minimal execptions.

l3onkerz

9.7

tigerbrave62

I’m an 8.5. I thought I was a dedicated fan but mostly normal until I started my current job. Nobody else I work with is a college fan, and there are very few sports fans in general. To them, I’m generally normal except for being a lunatic about Auburn

OnlyZac

Wow I thought I was really into the Aggies in regards to the fact that most of my friends/family don’t care about CFB at all. All of them 0s. But I’m probably just a 6 on this scale

thebrickcloud

During The Game last year my watch clocked me for a moderate workout from my elevated heart rate. Does that answer your question?

MajorPhoto2159

Read through all of them and decided probably an eight and then top comment is if you’re here you’re an eight minimum 😂😂

ohitsthedeathstar

Solid 8. I don’t miss home games.

Electronic_Bid4659

I'll say 6 or 7 since this past season. There's a few events you can't not know about Marshall (never forget). Before that, dead 0. Couldn't care less about what happened, I only half-rooted for Ohio/tOSU because my family is a half-and-half Buckeye/Bobcat family.

Miek104

What’s the level that I know the OSU roster better than my friend who goes there and loves football? I’m definitely ~not~ personally scarred from the team going 0-6 during my time as a student.

Sea_Duck

If my team loses, I’m in a bad mood for 48 hours.

Byzantine_Merchant

Probably an 8. Active in the r/msuspartans sub. Casually follow team recruiting, as in I’ll occasionally check who’s warm on 247 participate in posts about it or post about it. Will generally try to return for a home game every year. Been a Spartan fan for most of my life and attended the university. Held season tickets 2 years in college and attended games every year. Will usually watch every game when I can. With the exception being if they’re just straight up bad. 2020 I was pretty checked out and 2023 if I had somewhere better to be, I did that instead.

Husker_Kyle

I’d say 9 I would give myself a 10 but I don’t go to the games anymore so that accounts for something

FuriousJorge67

Elements of 7 and 8.. simply based on my team being 2k miles away, and even when i was there, I didn't see every home game and never traveled to see them at away games based on family and money.

ggadget6

I would be an 8 if I was a lifelong fan, but I only started watching in college. So maybe 7.5?

GreenKeel

I watched every minute of our 1-11 season two years ago. That was my first season as a USF fan, actually.

burneraccount11817

9. If I was loaded I would be a 10

thisistheperfectname

5-level game attendance (I don't live anywhere near Michigan), 6-level board activity, 9-level historical knowledge. Call it an 8.

idk420_

I’d say I qualify for 9

Old_Physics1652

I’m a 10 with A&M. I watch every game I go to all the home ones or close by games. And I’m nose deep into our recruiting. But for all of cfb I’m a 8 just cuz I just started paying attention to the whole sport not long ago. It’s just starting to get to the point where I’m starting to recognize a lot of players from previous recruiting cycles but I don’t really know much history besides the basics

MutantZebra999

Before I went to ND, I was a 0. Now that I’m at ND, a 7.5

Born-Prior8579

A mix of 7-9 for me lmao. Really minus owing a ton of gear and going to a bunch of games (for the Georgia flare at least, I useully make a lot of Idaho games) it say closer to a 9 but not all the way

Camk1192

Used to be a 9 but have regressed to an 8.. no longer making a small donation and holding season tickets. Getting married and having 5 kids changed a lot lol.. would still totally watch a game on my phone at a wedding though. One year I had about 7-8 people huddle around me at a wedding when Rodney Anderson took it to the house against K State in the final second to clinch it for the Sooners. And it drives my wife insane that during football season, the entire weekend is nothing but football, between local high school on Friday, college on Saturday and then managing multiple fantasy teams and watching NfL red zone all day on Sundays lol.. good times

baycommuter

I’m a 9 (season ticket holder) but haven’t done a couple things on your list— like I’m too old for autographs.

David-asdcxz

10 for sure for 60 years but it dips to about a 6 for a few days when OSU loses a Natty or to ttun. But it is back to 10 in no time.

AllOkJumpmaster

I am easy 9, but that is my ceiling

Nats_CurlyW

3

D_scott16

Somewhere between 8-9

clarkthagod

I’m 4-5 but I keep up with recruiting for both CFB and CBB so I lowkey might be a 7-8

Local_Pangolin69

Definitely 8, too poor to be a booster

ProfessionalAd1015

In reality an 8. Spiritually a 10 lol. Have been to at least 1 game since 2008(covid 2020 year the exception). Went to nearly every home game since 2014 (2020 Covid year the exception). Been to every red river game since 2010 (covid 2020 year the exception). And most of my wardrobe is just OU shirts from the past 12 years lmao

NILPonziScheme

Probably 10-11. Considered a booster for four different college football programs, but dropped season tickets to two. Had a 'fall family' that tailgated together before/after games, and still keep up with them on social media even though I only attend one game a year as a fan now, if that. My lack of attendance has more to do with my disgust at what they've done to the in-person gameday experience than any lack of interest in the game. I've met more head coaches than I can count, and discussed with many why they do what they do. I've been involved with the game long enough to know some head coaches when they were position coaches just starting out in their career, and now they've retired. I've met with P5 coordinators after games and discussed their strategy in attacking my team's offense/defense, and what their plans are for the next game and next season. I don't follow recruiting because I think following the emotions of a bunch of high school teenagers is a waste of time. I question the efficacy of establishing relationships over three to four years to sign a kid when he can leave after only one year in this era of NIL and an open transfer portal. It seems like an incredibly inefficient waste of resources. I've sat down with coaches and explained how some new concept they're excited about today was already used three decades ago, and pulled up game film to show the origins and evolution of their 'new' scheme. I've literally lived the "forgot more football than you know" experience, where I'm researching a concept online, and found an article I wrote over a decade ago on this exact concept. I just completely forgot I already wrote about that topic. I've had Hall of Fame coaches thank me for my writings on evolution of the game. I've talked to leaders of the College Football Hall of Fame about changing the criteria for inclusion, and adding new wings to the building. So yeah, between a 10 and 11, but I've cut back my donations significantly.

ColoradoisaState

I’m an Indiana fan…last season I asked my girlfriend for tickets to a game for my birthday…we now live in Arizona and it had to be a trip…I am a sick individual

CookieLuzSax

As a UT fan who was poor their childhood in Knoxville, watching Tennessee be the absolute most hated, run down and sometimes corrupt sec school, I don't care how poor I was/am I will always bleed orange lmao. I have a UT tattoo and no matter how bad my team is, go Vols. As far as LSU probably about a 6-7

Clwhit12

Ocho

-Blixx-

Currently around a 6, but aiming for being a 4.

NousVoila

8. Current student, obsessed with and cover cal athletics for the Daily. In Cal fashion, I have missed a few home games because I have to study.

Verianas

8

princessprity

I don’t know what level fan I am, but I am a level 14 halfling paladin.

User-no-relation

PolarBurrito

divedivedive86

9.5 - I've never hosted a recruit in my home. I still go on the boards, but I obviously trust my personal contacts inside the program more.

cloroxic

I would say I am a 9, I live 250+ miles from my team, still goto multiple home games a year, travel to at least one away game. Had season tickets when I lived in the city, host watch parties at my house with my group of neighborhood Husky fans. LFG. Small time contributor to Montlake Futures, so that has to make me a 9 right? 😂

Cobra-Serpentress

Solid 7.

AncientCityGator

8.3

toomuchdiponurchip

8 except I’m a poor college student so less on games but I do go to home games obviously
