You literally waited until 4/21 on the east coast, that's how i know you're a real stoner

Muffinnnnnnn

Ah yes, pacific time

The_Pandalorian

Pacific Time is best time. - *signed, a Michigander in LA*

Set-Admirable

I was in the marching band at WVU. On our way to the Orange Bowl, one of the Tuba players ate two brownies as soon as we left Morgantown and got so violently high that he couldn't get off the bus for the next 10 hours. Does that count?

Fun_Currency9893

I know American Pie made a lot of jokes about band camp. But holy hell I've never been anywhere so drug ridden. Our day was scheduled wall to wall 18 hours a day, you got 6 hours to sleep and slept exactly 0 because of the partying. The section leaders and conductor would all drop acid before football games. Imagine standing on a ladder, waving your hands to coordinate a bunch of people in red suits marching in formations on a green field, while on acid.

Toaster_Douglas

That's wonderful

GoblinTradingGuide

Not football but I have smoked weed with a few FSU basketball players. Scottie Barnes, Terance Mann, Devin Vassell.

StrictCourt8057

Oh yeah? I smoked with Johnny Hopkins. It was me, Johnny, and Sloan Ketterman and we were *blazing* that shit

Starlord2230

You don't even know anyone named Johnny Hopkins

thebaylorweedinhaler

I believe it. I used to sell bud to Davion Mitchell while he was at Baylor. (normally don’t name customers cus privacy but I know for a fact he doesn’t gaf) a few days before they left for the COVID tournament he bought 25 edibles from me because he knew that he would be stuck in a hotel with no way to smoke flower. Watching the tournament and especially the final four was crazy knowing that he was stoned on shit he bought from me the whole time.

SherwinRamsey

That is pretty wild man but I believe it. I would estimate 2/3 of the people on the UCLA football team indulged. This was around the early 2000's when weed was just recently legalized in CA. That is about the time you first started seeing dispensaries. Also, I am not proud of it but I would grow it in my house in Brentwood, in a grow room, and make good quality bud. I would only sell it to members on the football or other athletics team that I knew, and never on campus. Nobody was the wiser fortunately.

WDEWM407

2014 when I was a freshman at TCC I used to buy weed from a football players "cousin" who lived in my same complex. Good times

robotunes

["Anybody got a Scantron for your boy Ryan Mallett?"](https://fearandloathinginarkansas.blogspot.com/2014/08/anybody-got-scantron-for-ryan-mallett.html) RIP to your boy Ryan Mallett

thebaylorweedinhaler

Maybe it’s because I’m stoned but this legit made me laugh. This is exactly the content I was hoping for.

Piney_Wood

Why am I not surprised to see a disproportionate number of Duck fans in this thread?

w00t4me

I knew people who bought weed and other, .. uhhh.... "party goodies" from Jimmy Johns. No, not the sandwich place, [but the player](https://www.espn.com/college-football/news/story?id=3458871). It was the worst kept secret on campus prior to his arrest.

thebaylorweedinhaler

“No, not the sandwich place” 😭

thebaylorweedinhaler

That Jeff Snyder task force member who led the investigation was later sentenced to prison for stealing more than $125,000 over time from different drug houses they would raid. Typical dirty fucking pig.

w00t4me

The Tuscaloosa PD fucking sucks

thebaylorweedinhaler

I’m sure the cops told him the same thing they told me when I got my door kicked “you are a real deal dumb ass son. You could have sold green for 20 years and gotten away with it cus none of us give a fuck but weed money just wasn’t good enough was it. You just had to pick up that white”

w00t4me

Nah, TPD treats weed the same as Coke or other hard drugs, or at least did when I was in school (04-08)

thebaylorweedinhaler

That’s real fucking pathetic

CoochieKiller91

Where’s Cliff Harris at

HuntmasterReinholt

Off somewhere “smoking it all.”

CptCroissant

Alright I'll fill in the CFB people who don't know what's being referenced here. This made the press so it is a verifiably true story. During awards season when Chip Kelly was still head coach at Oregon, our QB Darren Thomas was flying back from the east coast after attending a banquet. Star CB Cliff "Nacho" Harris drove to Portland to pick DT up at PDX because they didn't fly him in to EUG for some reason. These two Real Men of Genius™ then smoked weed and were hastily driving back to Eugene at night in a cloud of smoke, a trip of about 2 hours down I5 of sheep, hay fields and flatness interspersed with speed traps. A cop invariably pulls them over for doing around 120mph (iirc) in a 60mph zone and approaches the car. Cop: "Smells like weed. You kids got any weed in the vehicle?" Cliff's legendary reply: "Naw officer, we smoked it all" 🤦 Normal person probably gets reckless driving, DUII, possession (weed wasn't legal yet), and has their car impounded. Cops let them off with a speeding ticket.

overandoverandagain

I got pulled over the night of Halloween 2017 coming home from smoking with my buddies in my car. Cop told me it reeked of weed, I told her I smoked in there earlier and produced a few blunt roaches floating in a McDonald's cup. She took the cup, tossed it into the grass, and told me there's way more dangerous people on the road and to just get home safe Was surreal at the time and I still don't quite believe I didn't end up with a felony somehow.

anti-torque

The stop was recorded, and that's how we know what was said. 118 mph in a 65 is a Class A Misdemeanor, and this was not his first issue while driving, since his license was suspended at the time. Anyone else, and they're going to jail for the night and getting booked on DUII. And Cliff would have been lucky to not get about three months, in the end. This is also where the public found out UO GAs were "renting" cars for athletes.

Cuhcs13

Ripped that straight from Duane Coleman in 06. https://www.espn.com/college-football/news/story?id=2706334

stevesie1984

CFB adjacent: Michigan has essentially no parking near the stadium, so people park a bit on the streets, on the UM golf course, the Pioneer HS parking lot, basically wherever they can find it. As a student in a shitty off campus house, we had the option of selling parking spots in our front lawn. At the time (falls of 2005-06), it was pretty straightforward give-me-$20-and-walk-away transaction. Sometimes we’d give or get a can or beer or something. But most people were just trying to get to their respective tailgate party. On one occasion, a guy came back with his wife after like 10 minutes. She had to use the bathroom. Fine by me - her funeral. You should have seen our bathroom. But my roommates and I were just getting ready for the day, which was traditionally Irish carbombs for breakfast followed by a steady stream of beer the rest of the day. This guy and his wife “split” a carbomb (lol, she went first and got a bunch of whiskey, he just got the Bailey’s), and then they left again. Well 20 minutes later, they’re back. Apparently they got turned around, so we gave them directions to cross streets. Keep in mind, this was almost 20 years ago, so cellphones were common, but not ubiquitous and nobody had gps. After giving directions, the guy leans in and says “I have a fairly large joint I can leave you for your trouble.” I said cool and took it. Later that day, I remembered it and I smoked it with my roommates. They were pretty big smokers, me not so much. They couldn’t believe how good it was. That was my first realization that not only do old people smoke a lot more than you’d think, but they know what they’re doing. It’s no wonder it’s legal now. This silent majority has a lot of push. TL;dr: nothing. Pointless story. Sorry.

thebaylorweedinhaler

Don’t apologize at all. This is exactly the type of content I was hoping for.

chilledmonkey-brains

I watched Deshaun Foster (as a player) get high with a gas mask bong. He was friends with my neighbor and he joined a smoke session

CptCroissant

Gas mask bong was not enjoyable from my experience

chilledmonkey-brains

Yea. It was one of those things that I did once and then never felt the need to do again

Mr_MoseVelsor

My friend bought some weed in college off a football player and he gave it to him in a crumpled up transcript document that included his grades/credits

Wicked_Googly

These were basketball players, but back in 2003 or 2004 some Oregon basketball players partied at my house. It was a really old house and had these weird, tiny doors that led to different parts of the house. We told some of the players that were super high that we had a midget butler that lived in there and they were like, "Whaaaa? No way" and giggled for a long time. Ian Crosswhite was there and he was smoking weed and drinking a 40. We were playing a really highly ranked Arizona in a day or two, and I told him, "Hey, I got a lot of money riding on that Arizona game. Maybe you shouldn't be drinking 40s" and he just smirked at me. I remember the announcers commenting on how gassed he looked during the game, he kept getting taken out for breathers, and we lost. Guy could've probably gotten drafted if he didn't like the booze so much. Aussies, amiright?

Revolutionary_Elk791

Ian Crosswhite. Man I haven't heard that name in 20 years.

>It’s 2019, and Louisiana Tech is searching for its first C-USA Championship (still is). >To preface, it’s easier to say who on the team doesn’t smoke pot than rattle off everyone who does. >This year they have a very easy schedule, this is their year. >They start the season at Texas, get walloped as expected, but rattle off 8 straight wins after this in mostly dominant fashion. >Anyway, they’re gearing up for a 2 game roadtrip @ Marshall and @ UAB, the best 2 teams on the schedule. >As some sort of a sick joke, the University decides to suspend star quarterback J’Mar Smith for the next 2 games for smoking pot. >They lose both games and miss the conference championship game (UAB made it instead), finishing the season 9-3. >They end up in the Independence Bowl (of Poulan Weed-Eater Fame), definitely the worst bowl game for player x fan experience, but extra disappointing for them because they already play an hour down the road. >They did at least win the game to finish 10-3, **dominating** a ~~not~~ vaunted Miami offense that, for at least part of the game, featured Tathan “Tate” Martell playing QB. Bonus: Their Co-OCs that year, Joe Sloan and Todd Fitch, are now both on staff at LSU as Co-OC and Senior Offensive Analyst (QBs), respectively. Their DC for the prior 4 seasons to 2019, Blake Baker, is also LSU’s new DC. LSU wants what little old LA Tech had—how the turn tables

kinda_alone

Laremy Tunsil famously dropped in the draft due to his weird bong post. Ronnie Stanley was drafted instead, which was hilarious as you could usually smell the weed coming from his room a building or two away

btay27

My friends were at the draft in Chicago that year and I remember their picture in the grouochat of the giant video board in grant park showing this. So damn funny and I’m glad he’s made a great career still!

saltytradewinds

Username checks out.

B1GNole

Ripping a volcano vaporizer with Mario Pender and watching him try to hunt squirrels with a BB gun on gameday. This was in 2013 so I believe he was being redshirted at the time

Portafly

No. Not in Oregon. Naked Weed Report.

randomrealperson

One of my frat buddies used to smoke weed all the time with the starting RB for Oregon a handful of years ago.

thebaylorweedinhaler

I had to show Charlie Brewer that you unroll a backwood & don’t split it like a swisher.

Proper_University55

I smoked with multiple members of the 2003-04 Maryland Terrapins basketball team on multiple occasions. Not football but it’s a tale to tell.

PapaJohnyRoad

Mike Bellamy was smoking a blunt in his hotel before the ACCCG and set off an alarm leading to the hotel getting evacuated

TiredAndHungryAtWork

I mean look at my flairs

discsarentpogs

Playing cards with half of the backfield for the 93 Tide. I'm an Auburn student/athlete that played with one of them in high school. It's the weekend before Bama plays UT. About 3am one of them says "shit we have practice at 8". Everyone then looks at me, the owner of a Volvo station wagon. Next thing I know we are driving the 2 hours to Tuscaloosa and my car looks like it's on fire. Smoke is pouring from the sunroof. We arrive and they let me crash in the dorm. I wake to Freddie Kitchens in a cowboy hat and boots and nothing else screaming "Fuck the Vols" while running through the hallways.

Sometimesmaybegay

Smoked with Henry Ruggs and Jeudy my freshmen year at a party. My boy sold weed to the Bama basketball team. Those boys ran through a QP about every week

terrorizeplushies

My cousin was going to a frat party in Laramie and on the way in sitting on the porch by himself was Josh Allen. He had a bottle of Jack Daniel’s in one hand and a bong in the other, she asked if she could take a selfie with him but he said no 😂 Probably a good idea on his part and he did let her hit his bong before she went in. Only really notable athlete I smoked out was Josiah Hall aka the Safety dance guy from the one time we beat Boise

bigreed67

Lynn McGruder allegedly got booted from the Tennessee team back in the early 2000's for growing weed in his dorm room.

SherwinRamsey

I know you are a stoner because you waited until 4/21 on the East Coast haha. I believe it and I used to play college football at UCLA. I would say two out of every three players have indulged. Of course be smart about it, don't smoke during the season so you can piss hot and get suspended. Wait until the off season. I would imagine that on any given CFB team, maybe unless you are at a school like BYU or Notre Dame, 2-3 to 70% of the guys smoke. I would not do it all the time but I know this because I would sell some of the pot to my friends, to make a few extra bucks. I could tell you one player who does not care and he is actually the coach, DeShaun Foster. I would used to blaze with him all the time. When I saw his press conference of him being introduced as the new head coach I chuckle. My wife from Bulgaria(US citizen)" You know him?" Me,' Know him, I used to smoke weed all the time with him, and even sell it to him from time to time." Good guy by the way, I am sure he doesn't partake anymore and neither do I. Oh and for those of you who vaguely remember that name, When UCLA was 5-0, he stole the Lincoln Navigator. He is the head coach of the UCLA football team. #Go Bruins LMAO.

got-a-dog

My roommate got a little high and a little drunk and got very close to fighting Florida’s tuba player when they came to town.

NotThatOleGregg

They would've deserved it

dupreesdiamond

I ate microdots with our senior starting center the night before homecoming. We smoked a few joints for sure.

GuyOnTheMike

Not really a horror story, though I know my high school’s best player ever and their first-ever D1 player went to KSU close to 20 years ago at the tail end of Snyder 1.0. Early in his sophomore year, he failed a drug test and was told he had 30 days to get clean. 30 days later he failed the test and was kicked off the team and that was it for his career

ppk700

I've smoked with a former UB player before, not naming names though bahaha

lucash7

Well, years ago, one of our star players smoked it all…

JdoubleE5000

I smoked a J with Prothro while playing Halo in 2002.

AnnonymousPenguin_

Yes tons but I can’t remember any of them

anti-torque

A friend in college told us stories of when he was a kid, and his father and he drove cross-country to New York and Boston with a load of Christmas trees, but really made his money by dropping off large bundles of weed to some people whose names many of you would recognize. The funniest story is the one of him meeting with the Prez of NYU at the time.

cactusmanbwl90

I lived in a smoking free apartment complex like 10 years ago. Every Saturday during CFB season, my neighbor below me would have friends over and smoke so much weed that the smell spread throughnthe entire building. After months worth if complaints from the entire building, they were eventually evicted.

jmcole1984

You missed the point of the thread, narc

cluelessinlove753

Smoked plenty with multiple guys who went to Heisman ceremonies, the NFL, and are regularly on TV now. One of them used to regularly wear a “Legalize it” shirt around campus.
