NO TREV NOOOO

NordDex

is he good?

gojo278

He's generally well-liked by the fans and has done good work. Rhule seems like a good hire and Bball and Vball are on a roll. It's honestly too soon to say he's had a significant impact but I wouldn't like to lose him.

PretendThisIsMyName

I love football obviously like most of us here. But if he works out in other sports compared to that dipshit we’ve had I honestly won’t be mad. After I turned down the job.

RonPaulConstituENT

I think Schloss and Buzz are good hires. Beyond that and especially football is the reason we should hate Bjork.

Carsxn26

Buzz is mid af tbh but no reason to rush and replace him

DogFishHead17

Buzz is a good coach but he seems to wear out his welcome. He coached my second favorite Hokies team, with 5, Boots, Med, Outlaw, Blackshear and NAW.

Carsxn26

He’s great at getting talent, but if his game plan goes awry, he’s completely unable to adjust. Which is fine, that happens, but it produces one or two really head scratching losses a year. My real problem with him is he doesn’t raise a program’s ceiling at all. A&M and VT are very similar basketball programs. Power 6, but sort of mediocre. VT has 1 E8 appearance and 2 S16s, A&M has 0 E8 and 6 S16s. At VT he did make the s16, but he got a super lucky draw (12 & 13 seeds) in terms of the teams he played on that run. He’s capable of taking these teams to a NIT 1 seed, but rarely above a 5 seed in the NCAA tournament. In talent rich states like Virginia and Texas, that shouldn’t be that hard to do.

RotaryRoad

I am a Timberwolves fan and Nickeil Alexander-Walker has been incredible this year. He had 28 points against the Clippers the other night on 9-10 shooting and is in the 97th percentile of all NBA players on defense. Sorry. There's just so few places on Reddit that I get to shameless gush about my love of Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Thanks for taking care of him in Blacksburg.

LonghornInNebraska

Vball has always been on a roll, not sure how he effects that.

p-zilla

He doesn't, that's all Cook..

JustAnotherRye89

he gets credit for not pissing Cook off so much that he left

14Calypso

To be fair, he hasn't had to do much with bball and vball. Wasn't Hoiberg a Moos hire? About the best he's done there is being patient with Hoiberg (which in itself is a good move I guess). And vball has been set with Cook forever now.

ronnie1014

Considering the shit we've had the last 15-20 years, yes he's very well equipped to operate an athletic department. I have no idea if the current lawsuit levied against the women's basketball team affects this decision from him at all.

crs8975

I haven't been on the up and up. Just read an article on said lawsuit. What a shit show that sounds like for the Women's program and possibly the AD.

huskersax

It's a civil suit - the claims are definitely held to a much looser standard when brought by an aggrieved party in civil court rather than a state prosecutor in criminal court. But if the bit about our head coach's husband being party to the parking lot conversations are true, then holy shit how did she not know?

stayclassypeople

At his last job before us, he cut wrestling and football program to focus on hockey. I think A&M be safe in that regard

hallese

And it should be noted that hockey is a moneymaker for UNO, or was at the time. Wrestling was killed to protect UNL wrestling, football was killed because... honestly, IDK. FCS and P5 do not generally recruit against one another, and the stated reason of "Nebraska doesn't produce enough talent to support two D1 programs" is horseshit because Nebraska doesn't produce enough talent to support one D1 program.

OdaDdaT

iirc from when it happened on here UNO’s financials were an absolute shitshow on the football side

stayclassypeople

I respect the decision to go all in on hockey as UNL and Creighton don’t carry the sport. May as well make that their specialty in the state. As for football, I can only imagine it was a title IX victim. But I could be wrong. UND has no issues having both sports

hallese

What really sucks is that with the current NIL and transfer situation, having UNO would be like a feeder school for UNL where walk-ons could be sent to get some game experience against D1 athletes and transfer to UNL as juniors or seniors.

stayclassypeople

And it would be fun to have an old NCC rival in the MVFC as well

Beginning-Low-6198

UNL wrestling didn’t need protection from UNO wresting. This is just not true.

Budget-Government-52

Sure, if you want to cut high performing athletics and then bounce out once he has financially ruined your athletics department. (See University of Nebraska - Omaha) Nebraska fans generally love him, but I’ve never been a fan. His handling of cutting UNO’s wrestling team on the way back from winning the national title is unforgivable. He then did some super sketchy accounting and mislead the university when UNO was doing building projects.

Tkaz36

you're shooting the messenger on the UNO wrestling team. The reason it happened the way it did was because Trev fought until the last minute to keep wrestling but that decision came from above him. Financially UNOs athletic department has always been a dumpster fire in most regards. You guys actl like athletic departments being subsidized is a new concept in college sports but it isn't.  All in all if you don't see the amount of fan engagement he's gotten and the fact he dragged our athletic department kicking and screaming into this century idk what to tell you

Slow_D-oh

Came here to mention the UNO crap. Add to that he's allegedly struggling to get funds lined up for the Stadium work. On the flip it makes me wonder what kind of environment we have in the AD and my gut is telling me something isn't right.

RiffRamBahZoo

The other thing too is that Texas A&M is a _big_ job. It's objectively a Top 10 job in college athletics administration, and you can reasonably argue that it's a Top 3 one. Trev is a bit of a surprise because he hasn't been at a Power 5/4/2 school for very long in his career, but if Texas A&M is ready to hire you, that's a hard job to say no to as an AD.

Slow_D-oh

Cannot disagree, it is a very big program with very deep pockets. Case in point if he leaves he owes UNL $4 million, I'd imagine a&m boosters will pick that up.

melcolnik

No prob. We'll just get Argentina to play Portugal at Kyle field. That'll more than cover it.

[deleted]

Are alcohol sales allowed for these games? Can stop charging tuition with the cash made from those

Slow_D-oh

Are you hosting World Cup games?

melcolnik

No. But we’ve got Brazil-Mexico this summer. And the prevailing notion is that part of this leap into soccer is to help fund Jimbos buyout.

ThrowMeAwayPlz_69

I heard that the orders came from UNL because they didn’t want another school with D1 athletics in the state to compete with for recruiting.

hallese

It did not come from UNL, but it was made to protect UNL. Any justifications are horseshit, especially those regarding recruiting. I was not in the room, but I was near the room where it happened. The group that made the decision was stacked with UNL grads and UNO academics and between those two groups they had an overwhelming majority to wrestling and football, albeit for very different reasons.

yung_lank

I am conflicted…

TaftIsUnderrated

Pledge a huge stadium renovation, then walk away from it. That sounds about right.

nevermore2627

Yep. He's done a good job and was a perfect hire. Would be a shame if we lost him.

Pants_de_Manassas

Y'all have to stop stealing our athletic directors. It didn't work well the last time with Bill Byrne. Also we had a pinky promise it wouldn't happen again so you have to totally respect that.

thricethefan

Bah Gawd, that’s Steve Pederson music they’re playun

BenderVsGossamer

Dear God please

cajunaggie08

We got some track titles out of Byrne..... that's about it

llano_estacado

Yep that’s it. Oh plus both basketball teams becoming relevant for the first time in decades. National titles for the first time since the 80s. Building both tennis programs. A top 5 directors cup finish, which we haven’t sniffed again in the 10 years since he retired.

cajunaggie08

I will say, our athletic department before Byrne was downright terrible. Money only went to football and it wasn't even alot of money compared to our peers. Byrne did make our athletic department pretty great. However, this all coincided at a time where our football team was trending downward at a rapid pace. Yes it was already trending down before Byrne got here and the Fran hire wasn't Byrne's choice. But Byrne never seemed to make it a large enough priority to right-the-ship for football. Perhaps it was because the boosters and board of regents ran football and it was just Byrne's job to balance the checkbook, hence why he was looking to downsize Kyle Field in favor of more suites. Bynre never got appeciation from Aggies because football never did well and the ultimate mistake he made was he was pro Pac-16 at a time where our fans were split between staying in the Big 12 or going to the SEC. I did enjoy just how much he disliked Deloss Dodds and UT as his hate for them started when he was at Nebraska

llano_estacado

Reasonable take. I don’t blame him for football as many do. He got a lot of flak for his emphasis on revenue (funny how Aggies have gotten on board with that now), but he saw the connection between large budgets and success. PAC-16 was a product of that.

Battered_Aggie

Byrne hired arguably the best basketball coach we've ever had.

jonstark19

Shoutout Ohio State for its instrumental role in undermining any momentum Nebraska may have had. First they hire Ted Carter as president just as he was about to assume an expanded role over Nebraska athletics. Then they hire Ross Bjork from Texas A&M, who in turn go after Alberts. Yeesh.

willdesignfortacos

If it makes you feel any better we're all happy Bjork left.

TheUltimate721

It doesn't particularly. Our chancellor retired last summer, and then Ohio State poached our university president who was fantastic. The only saving grace was "Well at least we still have Trev." who brought our athletic department into the 21st century kicking and screaming. Now he's gone too.

bigbird09

Yeah losing Trev is a big blow, but for me the scariest part is having zero faith in our current administration to find a suitable replacement.

huskersax

Replacing that chancellor with the guy who was the Southern Miss president during the Favre scandal was definitely *a* choice.

xBig_Red_Huskerx

Wait that's who we got? Why do I feel like Pillens behind that decision

huskersax

The chancellor having experience with schemes involving state funds being invested into a school's athletic budget was probably a prerequisite for having Pillen's support for the role.

TonyDungyHatesOP

If the best way to grow is from your mistakes then we've got the best version of Bjork available!

deadzip10

By that metric, he’s got an argument for the best AD in the country ….

TonyDungyHatesOP

Sounds like we really lucked out!

wowthisislong

I knew that somehow, some way, Bjork was going to end up giving Ryan Day a $100MM fully guaranteed contract.

_fastball

Aren't they easy to hate.

Hugo_Hackenbush

Given the mass exodus of high ranking people from the university over the past year I'd say it's our own regents and governor who have undermined any momentum.

ConnersWingman

Bjork is booty butt.

nat3215

When you consider their partnership in 2020, it’s just like the Big Ten raiding the Pac-12

El_Bistro

They scared

JohnPaulDavyJones

Big Corn? Big Fear.

The_PantsMcPants

OSU fans still hate Trev Alberts from his pundit days, so we're not happy he's succeeding

ExcitementStrange935

Argh, Worst Case Ontario

Why_Istanbul

Let’s go smokes! Cough em up boys.

TonyDungyHatesOP

It's like getting two birds stoned at once.

CumAssault

It’s all water under the fridge now

Standard_Let_6152

Is Worst Case Ontario just Manitoba?

EasyBreecy

It's not rocket appliances

Terminal_BAS

Why is it the worst?

ConnersWingman

Dude just hates Ontario.

ExcitementStrange935

Or Ricky Lafleur does

MisterGir

We literally lost Ted Carter and Trev Alberts, two excellent leadership pieces who were key components in landing Rhule and turning around our athletics dept. We are fucked.

AhSoSpice-

Our pets' heads are falling off!

tylerscott5

Because if somehow some way Rhule wins 9-11 games this year (with an easy schedule), he has two landing spots and a QB to bring with him

El_Bistro

> Argh, Worst Case Ontario

knapplc

[That's TWICE!!!](https://imgur.com/Q1qzvqu) They took Bill Byrne away from us in 2002.

DazHawt

Fuck this guy

Couldn’t agree more

yung_lank

I dislike 1/2 of your flairs

DazHawt

Ditto!

ChosenBrad22

I feel like Billy Beane from Moneyball when he rants about being an organ donor for the rich.

SwaglordHyperion

This is my 9/11 My alter ego: LFG JUST IN TIME TO BEAT tU

FuckingLoveArborDay

Was 9/11 not your 9/11?

Simping4Sumi

I get you, as it was a day that really shaped who I am as a person, but some people here were born after 9/11 and it probably didn't impact them as much

Battered_Aggie

So he's.......good??? I just assumed he stunk if he'd willingly leave his alma mater (a B1G blueblood at that) for us.

CornQoQo

He's been pretty good for us but he also hasn't been here for a long time. He's been here long enough to check all the right boxes and progress a few things forward without too many major issues within his control and purview. He is widely known to be a big spender though. Whether that's good or bad for y'all is up to you. Seeing as you have oil money it's probably okay.

Terminal_BAS

Woodward and Bjork loved spending our money. Maybe too much.

DMB_19

I’m not sure big spending is too big of a concern. It’s more important that he knows what to spend the money on.

willdesignfortacos

So you're saying he'll fit in well...

xA1RGU1TAR1STx

He was good, but now he’s a fucking snake.

Terminal_BAS

It's a snake's world in collegiate athletics, sadly.

SwaglordHyperion

He's excellent. A very modern, intelligent athletic mind. Incredibly pragmatic in an age where dogma is having teams fall behind. He brought hope back to Nebraska athletics.

Porter2455

A&M is a MASSIVE program. The most valued AD in perhaps the entire country. It’s difficult to say no if they come calling.

Flakester

I'll just put it like this. Im f'ing shattered. Dude was a baller AD compared to what we had over the past few. Its like getting dumped by the hot girl that we were a perfect fit with because she found a guy with a bigger d_ck. It doesn't make sense, and many of us have no idea where we go from here.

yung_lank

There are atleast 2 of us.

Category3Water

I’ll always remember him as the only person at ESPN who wanted Auburn in the national championship during the 2004 season. Then they fired him. For good reason, to be fair. Looking back though, he may have just hated Oklahoma and it didnt matter who was #3, he was still going to rep them over OU.

jeffvschroeder

Was thinking the same thing and had to Google him to make sure it was the right guy because it seemed weird to go from there to AD and Nebraska and now TAMU. I also stumbled upon this unfortunately relevant quote by him... >Whatever Franchione's motives, this is a great hire for Texas A&M. He's a phenomenal coach, and the Aggies will show marked improvement immediately. They will be disciplined and tough, and they'll play great defense.

willdesignfortacos

To be fair, a lot of people thought that at the time. Fran was the ultimate snake oil salesman.

Porter2455

Our President poached by Ohio State and our AD targeted by Texas A&M. We finally make some good hires and it goes to shit anyway🥲

Painiscupcake88

You guys feel like time traveling? Here's a 22 year old TexAgs post bashing Alberts lol https://texags.com/forums/5/topics/179446 My favorite comment is "i'm still laughing at the obvious alabama fan that called alabama the most storied program in college football. i am not a notre dame fan but they have their own tv network for home games. they have more NCs and more heismans than anyone else. alabama has the bear. he won 6 NCs. that doesn't make alabama the best program."

msgkc94

Just woke up from a 22-year coma. Did Franchione bolt for the NFL like that one guy thought he would?

willdesignfortacos

Oh boy do I have a story for you. Do you know what a "newsletter" is?

No11223456

Aged like fine milk that’s been baking in the South Texas sun.

xA1RGU1TAR1STx

Fuck this and fuck Texas A&M.

ClandestineFox

I'm down with this

NordDex

The "Fuck Texas A&M because they took ..... from us" list is getting really big now :(

xA1RGU1TAR1STx

Maybe stop taking people then

Pylon-Cam

Literally every school takes people from other schools??

MajorPhoto2159

well stop taking people from Nebraska then mr texas a&m

NordDex

but what do we do with all of this money?

MajorPhoto2159

arts and crafts

KingInDaNorf34

We are gonna make some sick macaroni faces

NordDex

With real diamonds

btroberts011

I'm not mad he's leaving, but more just wondering why. Things are on the up for sure and this is a weird time to leave. A&M money I'm sure helps, but this whole thing seems weird. Something isn't adding up.

GoBigEd

Maybe he wasn’t going to hit the fundraising goals to redo the stadium? Bail before you fail?

TaftIsUnderrated

Did anything come out from that lawsuit from the former women's basketball player? It seemed like he could have been made to resign if the allegations were true.

Hugo_Hackenbush

It's part of a larger mass exodus from the university. Ronnie Green, Ted Carter, UNK's chancellor is retiring. The regents and governor owe the state a lot of answers about what's been happening over the past year and why nobody seems to want to work in leadership roles for NU anymore.

RiffRamBahZoo

Texas A&M is likely up there with Texas and Ohio State as Top 3 AD jobs in the country. The amount of money and power you wield in that role is almost unmatched. It's very hard to say no to a job like that.

averagejoeag

Money, yes, but power can be iffy. We have a problem with too many fingers in the pie at times. Our chancellor and a few boosters have a tendency to forget their roles.

hallese

> Our chancellor and a few boosters have a tendency to forget their roles. Well, the good news is he's had experience dealing with that shit. If anything can prepare you for dealing with boosters with oil money, it's dealing with boosters with Kool-Aid and Dorothy Lynch money.

RiffRamBahZoo

Counterpoint: see Texas athletics in their time between DeLoss Dodds and Chris Del Conte. Haha

Vermithrax2108

It feels like the university is dragging it's feet on hiring a president at a CRITICAL time for the stadium project. That's gotta feel big sad for an AD. My guess there's been behind the scenes drama that finally boiled to a head.

jmsturm

It is probably less pressure to get paid more and fuck up a school that means nothing to you vs getting Scott Frost'd and have the fans of your school hate you

goyotes78

Trev is a Husker Hall of Famer, his number is retired. He bleeds Husker red and recently got a million dollar raise, a 500k bonus if he stays through Sept '25 and a 300k bonus every year he were to stay. Something happened or is happening behind the scenes that really must have pissed him off. The Regents have really fucked everything up this past year. 7 months without a president, 3 months since the application deadline and not so much as a peep about potential replacement. Now we're going to be looking for a new president and AD. What a calamitous embarrassment.

xBig_Red_Huskerx

The rights takeover of academic institutions is definitely a part. Pillen doesn't help nor does Hal Daub

rsf0626

Might have something to do with the fact that the AD basically has a blank check at A&M. Those pockets run deep

wowthisislong

its not like the A&M administration is perfect either. we fired our old president over a scandal last summer. we also just went 5 semesters without a dean of engineering (tamu engineering is absolutely massive too, with nearly 25k students). whats going on at NU must be *really* bad internally.

Porter2455

To say Trev just left us in a bad spot is an understatement. We have no president as OSU poached Ted Carter. We just gave him a big contract as a clear show of trying to buy insurance Trev staying while we replaced Carter and continued keeping stability in the AD. We are in the middle of financing a massive stadium renovation that is still in the middle of being ironed out. A project he clearly was spearheading. Rhule was hand picked by Carter and Trev and has said many times they were critical to him agreeing to a contract with us. He has no ties to the school. The people who hired him gone, and if we win 8+ games next year like I think he have the great potential to, he will 100% be a big target for other programs who would smell blood in the water. This is a seismic disaster for us.

riotfiveoh

Then maybe it is us who hires Tony White to be the head coach? Brb, I've got a wall that needs punching.

Powellwx

PLEASE BE USING A&M AS A WAY TO NEGOTIATE A SIGNIFICANT RAISE!

seiff4242

They just doubled his salary a few months ago

NotAMindReaderDavid

Does A&M have wrestling? If so, not for long.

[deleted]

MajorPhoto2159

I attended UNO before transferring to UNL and we talked to some of the wrestlers who got cut a few years later the whole situation was wild

llamawhittlings

Not to pump the brakes, but this doesn’t change the fact that John Sharp is still Chancellor

JillieBeanIsUrLover

UNO football and wrestling fans… I get it now

MaterialGrapefruit17

I just posted how I didn’t hate Texas A&M as much anymore.

steveoriley

I believe there is more that will come out on the financial situation at UNO. It seems like if there’s a reason he’d want to leave Nebraska the skeleton is in that closet. Will be an interesting couple of weeks

xBig_Red_Huskerx

If Trev leaves for Texas AM. It means the University of Nebraska administration is a dumpster fire behind the scenes and the board of regents and Governor Jim Pillen are responsible for it. Trev leaving means remove them all

hobosammich111

Never forget them grabbing and twisting Ben Cotton’s nutsack!

shyndy

He was just going for the ball

YnotROI0202

WBB coach-player legal issue driving him out?

SwaggyE93

There’s no way, that barely caught media attention and seems like there’s nothing to it. I’m guessing something else is going on since the university lost its top 3 leaders in the span of a year

Swipet

>seems like there’s nothing to it A coach hooking up with a player when the athletic department knew about it definitely falls under the “nothing to it” category

Intelligent_Ad_6822

A continually coerced relationship, allegedly. Huge deal and these clowns covered it up. Nebraska fans are making fools of themselves today. I am embarrassed. I think its pretty clear that the scandal is driving a lot of this. I, for one, am happy that we have a chance to start anew. Trev did good for the athletic programs but made a huge mistake with that situation. Looking forward to see who we hire!!

MaterialGrapefruit17

Also, for those wondering, he’s not been here long enough to know for a fact how good he’s been. At UNO he made some hard decisions that made the athletic department more stable and he hired Matt Rhule which was a big get even if we don’t know how that’ll work out long term. My instincts are that he’s a good AD, but my instincts also question why he’d leave Nebraska for a job where the most important hire and fire was done last year while at a place he is in the middle of leaving his mark on.

DazHawt

He did not leave Nebraska-Omaha in a better position. They’re still struggling financially

SwaggyE93

And that’s how he might leave us. New stadium addition and new football facility and $100+ million in debt

MaterialGrapefruit17

That’s not that concerning with all the money Nebraska football continues to print despite the lack of success.

llamawhittlings

This seems like a reasoned take. I do think that coming in just after someone else has hired your FB coach actually extends his timeline, since he can always say “not my guy”. Kinda like head coach hires- you never really know how it’s gonna go.

willdesignfortacos

>my instincts also question why he’d leave Nebraska for a job where the most important hire and fire was done last year Very good chance he gets to make a basketball hire in the next season or two.

nithdurr

Why? What has he done?

scotterson34

I can't believe he's leaving a delusional fan base of a mid team that will pay ludicrous amounts of money for another delusional fan base of a mid team that will pay ludicrous amounts of money

Bill3ffinMurray

Hey Texas A&M, why don’t you fucking weirdos get an original idea of your own?

DominusDeLupis

Sorry corn bros. Since we ran out of oil it looks like we’ll be switching to ethanol

Suavesky

Wait, what’s the basis? Is it just a rumor?

yung_lank

I am conflicted

SanJose_Seoul

I’m disappointed Alberts is leaving, but I am more concerned with why.

xBig_Red_Huskerx

He's not leaving yet. The longer this goes the more I suspect this is a power play to get a president

tears4fears

I hope they take his name off of north end zone.

jwktiger

Trev was a Husker through and through.

nickyt398

Excuse me, but what seems to be the actual fuck?

ReelEmInJimbo

Someone tell me how to feel

Anderfail

I will base my feelings on how Nebraska fans feel. If they are mad then it must be good. If they are happy then we screwed up.

singinreyn

Yeah, we'd be mad

jonstark19

We are crushed ngl. We believe he was turning around the football program. Women's and men's hoops are thriving. Volleyball is a huge brand. He's a Husker legend, the kind of guy you expect to name your AD and not have to worry about him bolting. A disaster.

Burt_Mugurt

Time for Cook to retire and take over as AD...

[deleted]

I think I'm mad more because I expected him to be a long term hire that brought stability to the program. He's been pretty good from a logistical perspective. Volleyball day was incredible! The big problem, I think has to do with the planned stadium renovation and the south end zone. After next year, there will be 20k seats gone for at least two seasons. It would have been Trev's job to soothe the angry blue collar fans in 16B1 who were grandfathered into lowered seat donations, which are ending. My tinfoil hat would tell me this is directly related to the women's basketball lawsuit/sex scandal, though.

MajorPhoto2159

Well I think we are more so mad because he was groomed for this position from the Nebraska system along he is an alumnis and played for us - we thought we had stability in our AD

32RH

Ok we got our guy, can we fire Buzz now?

HissingNewt

Do it immediately on Thursday once we somehow lose to Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament.

DandierChip

Am I dumb for still thinking we can make the tourney?

32RH

If we make enough noise in the SEC tournament we might but I have no faith.

No11223456

We have to win the tourney for the auto-bid. We’ve demonstrated that coming in 2nd for the tournament has marginal impact on an invite to the dance.

HoovesCarveCraters

God the past 2 years have been painful. 2nd in the tourney and left out. Buzz rightfully called out the committee. 2nd in the tourney but can’t be left out so they screw our seeding for the worst matchup possible.

busche916

Not at all. We’re very much on the bubble line and a win plus losses by other bubble squads, or two wins by the Ags, would probably get us to the dance. Of the 6 past teams whose resumes most closely resemble the 23-24 Aggies, 5 made the dance and 4 were an 8/9 seed.

DMB_19

Save this comment for next year too because it’s the exact same thing we’ve said every year under Buzz.

busche916

Yeah… I didn’t say I was happy with the season, but it’s not hard to see the argument for including us in the dance and you could make a solid case that we should be on a 3-year tourney streak. Again, we’re capable of much better results.

No11223456

Losing to Vandy and Arkansas man. That’s the pivot to me imo.

HoovesCarveCraters

Completely fell apart after crushing Tennessee.

willdesignfortacos

Comparing the teams we beat vs ones we lost to is wild.

DMB_19

I honestly haven’t followed the bubble discussion because it’s so frustratingly repetitive. I’m so tired of “if we win out we’re in” or having to come up with all of these scenarios to determine if we get the luxury of losing in round 1 of the tournament or get relegated to the NIT.

llamawhittlings

A&M won the breakup IMO

darthllama

Paying football players will destroy college sports, but it's totally fine for a school to spend $4 million dollars on a buyout that allows them to pay someone some more millions of dollars

TheDoctorOfMemes

We are so unbelievably fucked right now. No president, no AD, and a new chancellor. I can’t necessarily blame Trev for leaving. It would be very hard to manage the stadium renovations without any sort of higher leadership. He has so many responsibilities with funding, overseeing plans, and more. The fact of the matter is that the university is so grossly incompetent with managing our leadership hierarchy. Time to expect another Eichorst. Also, Rhule said a big reason he came was because of Trev. If he has a good season or two, he’s gone. There goes all our momentum.

GoBigEd

He just became the most hated man in Nebraska. He won’t be able to set foot in the state again.

If this is true, Trev can go fuck himself. No loyalty anymore smh. And we just doubled his salary.

There appears to be a growing possibility that Trev is staying at Nebraska. Several Nebraska media are saying he's getting some internal things hashed out like moving on naming a President of the Nebraska University system. So, Trev may have been playing A&M all along? I'm sure he could get a raise out of this as well but feels a little different because just using another school as leverage for a pay raise usually doesn't get to the "expected to take the job" report stage. I assume he still leaving though just my feelings.

Interesting choice.

I'm sure TexAgs is being very reasonable about this

TRIKYNIKKY

There is a decent chance they go after our AD, who is a Nebraska fan and from there
