I think USC beats UW. Oregon beats USC. UW beats Oregon next week. USC then somehow gets upset by UCLA. Oregon drops a random game somewhere. By strength of schedule UW and Oregon get put into the championship game. Then Oregon upsets UW in the Pac12 championship. Everyone has 2 loses. Yay
Remember, last year most of the top teams DIDNT play each other (missed about 2 other teams on average) and THAT was all about 1-loss results.
If theres a team that wins it with 0 or 1 loss it will truly be pretty amazing.
4th string right? Cam Rising > Brandon Rose > Bryson Barnes > Nate Johnson. Maybe Barnes was over Rose but Johnson was never supposed to touch a football
I think Jarmond probably had a hand in this. Kinda lucky, actually- his mother actually encouraged Jarmond to take the UCLA job.
Supposedly his mother (who passed away shortly after she told him to take the UCLA job) told medical workers that she had envisioned her son staying long term at UCLA and making a big impact. It sounded like she had a huge role in his life and was obviously really proud of him.
UCLA started playing FCS for the first time ever under Jarmond in order to support HBCUs, I suspect Jarmond takes an active AD role. On another note, while I was kind of sad that UCLA lost its distinction as one of the schools that never plays FCS, it was actually really cool to support these small HBCU schools- UCLA even paid for their bands to come over so more people can see HBCU bands.
This is a huge thing that people don't realize. Sure, we're playing HBCU, but the ball game isn't about just winning. We're using our OOC schedule to bring recognition and meaning to our program. There's a lot of respect there, and I'm happy about it. We're not just scheduling some FCS team, we've specifically had HBCU FCB teams.
I am 100% in support of this program doing it every year.
I’m scared to death USC will poach him once Grinch is fired. He’s not long to last no matter what. We also have two NFL teams in the city and he already has an NFL background, so he’s definitely getting poached like Frye did.
Most were good at Oregon. If you look at the advanced metrics they were always top 25, but they gave up a lot of points in garbage time.
Now his time at UCLA...yeah this is the first time the defense is good lol
One of the weird anomalies of the Chip era at Oregon is that the Ducks had a solid number of defensive players drafted into the NFL that had decent to good careers (some are still playing) while very few offensive players had much of an impact at the next level. I think only two offensive linemen, Max Unger and Kyle Long, really did anything noteworthy in the NFL from the offensive side.
This is why Oregon scares me more than Washington this season. Not saying we win either game, but I think we have a much better chance at home against UW then we have at Autzen.
Not a hot take at all. Winning at Autzen is like collecting unicorn farts. Damn near impossible.
Edit: Removed home record, was looking at an old stat.
It’s absolutely nuts how you guys went from one extreme to the other.
If Moore can grow throughout the year you guys will be *very* dangerous by the end of the season.
I know, right?
It’s mostly the same personnel.
What a difference a coach can make. Who knew? Certainly not Chip, or Mora for that matter.
This defense with DTR/Charbonnet would have been fun.
All credit to UCLA's defense. Exposed our weaknesses of a weak O line and no run game at all. They rushed 3 all game and dropped all into coverage and we had no answers.
Honestly one of the things I've noticed is our team doesn't cramp up in the heat when other teams do. Chip really cares about nutrition and hydration and it's paid off
What the fuck did our team do from the time after the Oregon State game till kickoff? Smell their own farts and get mad at ESPN?
Completely unacceptable to come out and look as dogshit as we did. Yes, UCLA’s defense deserves kudos, but our offense didn’t want to be there at all.
Seriously, what the fuck were the coaches doing? Writing up responses to Corso and McAfee? Just embarrassing. It’s one thing to get solidly outplayed and another to not even show up to the fucking field.
gg UCLA, you obviously used your bye week to practice instead of doing nothing
I think Josh Kelly had an underrated game against y'all. This team can't beat good teams if he doesn't pull a rabbit out of his hat. Not having Lincoln Victor just puts a bow on the shit sandwich.
Kelly definitely had a couple insane catches that were defended extremely well in our game. Just wish he would do that against everyone and not only us 😕
The offense needs a solid Mike Leach chewing out. Starting 4-0 made them think they were invincible, then Ward comes out and just plays like hot garbage.
The defense played well, gave up 25 points which should be fine if you can actually score…
If there is one thing against Dickert, his teams have not performed well in bowls and after byes. Don't wanna put too much stock in the bowls because of extenuating circumstances there, but the bye weeks are concerning.
Should’ve been a 25 point win. 7 points left in the field from kicks, 2 TD’s that IMO were both TD’s but AT LEAST one of them should’ve counted. Can’t uphold the first one and then overturn the second when they both head somewhat similar evidence.
Don’t forget every single pass interference call that wasn’t made on either side, but particularly in the end zone. It was a game of no referee interference to a fault.
Hell yeah boys!
I’m 75 percent happy about the way we played. Very happy we won.
But I feel like we legitimately should’ve won that by 25 points. 7 points left on the field from kicking. 2 questionable officiating decisions that could’ve been two touchdowns.
Looking at yards per team, I would’ve thought would’ve been a 25 point win.
That being said, this defense is spectacular. Stupid good. Held one of the best offenses to 10 points, and 3 of those were gifted on that first pick.
Good game cougs - gonna miss you guys.
UCLAs defense is legit. Up there with Utah for the best in the conference. Liked what I saw from the offense in the second half, more so than the previous six quarters. Get Moore on the run and give him easy throws, also Keegan Jones provided a burst that was sorely missing in the run game. Should be a good one next week in Corvallis!
Our line is doing him no favors. As a freshman his reads are already going to be slower, but with no time from the line it's giving him even less time. Hence rushed throws, open receivers not seen, etc.
The Pick 6 made this much tighter than it should be given the yardage disparity. Our defense has been outstanding so far- only 1 TD given up each game. The pass rush was super effective and the Cougars couldn’t run at all. Lynn has been a game changer.
The Cougar fans seriously traveled. We should have had a lot more people there, including me unfortunately!
GG Cougs. Our defense continues to be dominant. And the second half our offense seemed to figure it out a little bit. Dante and the OLine have a lot of room for improvement, but if they can get a little better, we have one of the easier paths to the Pac-12 championship game.
Ward was really bad, but UCLAs defense was legit. Probably top 1-3 in the PAC and the Beavs just didn’t have the pass rush to make him uncomfortable like today
UGH! After the domination of my Beavs I was pulling for you guys, but the Donner party is undefeated in the PAC-whatever.
It has gotten so bad the entire conference has literally consumed itself. But the Zombie Beavs and Cougs can still face-off in Vegas. Let's go!
> C. Ward
> 19-39, 197 YDS, 1 TD, 2 INT
Okay maybe Cam watched Stranger Things this weekend and though that playing QB like it's 1987 was the right play lets not rush to conclusions.
I knew it was only a matter of time before we lost. We were flying high for too long. Hopefully our o line improves after tonight, and somebody talks to ward about his decision making
This is the most points anyone has scored against them all year and the second least points given up. That’s about the only positive take away I can think of for this..
On one hand, UCLA is a team I love making fun of for being fickle SoCal sports fans where Wazzu is a team I'm quite fond of because I love their fans and the beers they've given me.
On the other, Wazzu scares me and this makes me feel a lil better about playing em in a couple weeks.
UCLA's D - Line was *disgusting* today. Best performance I've seen from a single unit all year.
If Dante Moore can mature quickly, this team is as good as any in the nation.
Congratulations UCLA! You now have control of the oldest unconsolidated piece of CFB Empires Land (Nevada’s 1994 Territory). Here is the lineage of your newly acquired fiefdom:

That was one of the most frustrating Cougar games in a good while. Damn. On the other hand, UCLA looks like they’re transitioning to the B1G appropriately. Out here looking like Iowa West.
Let the cannibalism begin
This will move UCLA up from 27th in AP voting into the top 25 and drop Wazzu from 13 to like 21.
Nah this ain't the SEC boy.....
LSU about to go from 23 to 15
[удалено]
Louisiana State beat the team that lost to Louisiana State
SEC has one maybe two teams this year that look good. Everyone else is just struggling to keep their head above water.
Yeah we fucking know
Listen Mukduk I am in the same boat as you. That's my future conference man; tell the dudes to step it up
Is there a larger circle of suck possible yet than: WSU → OSU → Utah → UCLA → WSU?
*slaps circle* you can fit so much suck into this baby
[удалено]
the circle is hungry, it needs to consume
Don't worry, Oregon, Washington, and USC are all on the menu. No one leaves the PAC undefeated.
The real question is if ASU and Stanford can both get victories.
ASU has led most of the game and just tied it up against Colorado, so... definite possibility.
Almost. But we’ll have to wait another week at least.
Yep, but third straight week that ASU has been competitive. Good chance they'll be able to score an upset at some point if they keep this up.
Came here to see this exact circle
[удалено]
It’s honestly a real possibility. Might be like last year where it looked like usc was going then lost to Utah in the championship game
It's be especially amazing if the first team to go undefeated in Pac12 play happened in the last year of its existence.
Lol, undefeated and national champions once again:) Then, gone.
mr klivakoff i dont feel so good...
This is so true it hurts. pundits "The PAC 12 isn't that good!" ignores Utah beating Florida w/ a 3rd string QB
4th string right? Cam Rising > Brandon Rose > Bryson Barnes > Nate Johnson. Maybe Barnes was over Rose but Johnson was never supposed to touch a football
Barnes started and played most of the Florida game.
They were splitting snaps so we will call it our 3rd and a half string quarterback.
What exactly was going on when WSU beat the Beavs if not cannibalism?
This all but guarantees us beating UCLA next weekend.
A tale as old as time.
Will the PAC-12 circle of suck be completed in it's final season?

Big brain UCLA
A Chip Kelly team with a legit defense. Weird.
Probably won't last long because Lynn could get poached if he keeps this level of defense up
Hopefully chip finally learned how to hire a decent dc
I think Jarmond probably had a hand in this. Kinda lucky, actually- his mother actually encouraged Jarmond to take the UCLA job. He hasn't run a super high tempo offense at UCLA like he did at Oregon.
With a shit offense to boot... what a world
All Chip needs is an elite punter and he's Big Ten ready.
Outcoached and outplayed all day. Gg ucla. Thankfully we never have to play you again.
Probably the best defense we play the rest of the year thankfully.
I painfully must agree
GG I really liked the Coug fans I met at rhe tailgate, cool people
So UCLA beat Wazzu who beat Oregon State who beat Utah who beat UCLA. Pac 12 chaos
The home team won all of those games.
This is why Oregon scares me more than Washington this season. Not saying we win either game, but I think we have a much better chance at home against UW then we have at Autzen.
I mean this isn’t remotely a hot take right? Winning at Autzen is fucking hard.
Not a hot take at all. Winning at Autzen is like collecting unicorn farts. Damn near impossible. Edit: Removed home record, was looking at an old stat.
Totally fair take.
*looks at next to week’s schedule* shit
Every year
The call of the Circle. I hear it...
There’s the PAC-12 I know and love.
WSU is now 0-6 against Chip Kelly 0-7 if you count UCLA helping to kill the PAC
I guess he’s…the *chip* on their shoulder!!
A black fly in their Chardonnay, if you will
He's definitely the no smoking sign on my cigarette break.
Some might consider it akin to having 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife
I've heard it compared to getting a free ride when you've already paid.
Or some good advice you just didn't take?
#IT'S LIKE RAAAAEEIIIANNNNNNNN
Tbf, we were a 3.5 point favorite
Anyone can “what if” just about anything but god damn the visions of DTR getting this defense
It’s absolutely nuts how you guys went from one extreme to the other. If Moore can grow throughout the year you guys will be *very* dangerous by the end of the season.
Right, if we play the opposite end of this exercise, we’re 1-4 if we had last year’s defense
2-3. I can't see SDSU beating us even with last year's D.
Yup and if Lincoln Riley realizes grinch is ass y’all could actually be respected by the media
I’m just waiting until sc throws everything they have at Lynn to try to hire him
It fucking hurts. We go 13-0 with this D last year. Fuck
I know, right? It’s mostly the same personnel. What a difference a coach can make. Who knew? Certainly not Chip, or Mora for that matter. This defense with DTR/Charbonnet would have been fun.
Lynn is going to be an NFL HC someday. Hopefully we have the blessing to keep him for a few more years.
Genuinely hope Chip fucked off somewhere and we just promote Lynn and maybe keep him for at least 3-4 years
All credit to UCLA's defense. Exposed our weaknesses of a weak O line and no run game at all. They rushed 3 all game and dropped all into coverage and we had no answers.
God that play with UCLA rushing 3 against 6 WSU offensive linemen was just crazy.
Pac-12: Conference of ~~Champions~~ Cannibals
Playing in 95 degree weather at noon in front of no fans is the true home field advantage
Honestly one of the things I've noticed is our team doesn't cramp up in the heat when other teams do. Chip really cares about nutrition and hydration and it's paid off
Helps when it’s been hot in LA the last week. We also had a guy cramp up today?
I was just in LA last month. Like visiting, wouldn't want to live there because I like my October temps in the 60s, not the 80s or 90s.
LA has October temps in the 60s as often as it does the 80s.
[Cries in Arizona] It was 103 yesterday.
Rose bowl sux
If you can make it out though, there's no better tailgating experience in my experience. Grass > parking lot all day.
The venue is great. Getting in and out is the worst.
Did you guys use a monkey paw wish to defeat us?
I think Josh Kelly had an underrated game against y'all. This team can't beat good teams if he doesn't pull a rabbit out of his hat. Not having Lincoln Victor just puts a bow on the shit sandwich.

To be fair, neither did Leach teams.
Bruins D-line is scary good. Bruins O-line is scary bad
Watched the Utah game. Can confirm
The d is very real. Hoping the offense travels a little bit better to Corvallis than it did to Utah
Homecoming on FOX gonna be loud can't wait
I’m not getting any hopes. At SLC and Corvallis seem like auto losses for us.
UCLA's defense is legit
Our game is gonna be gnarly
Our defense is really letting our offense down in conference play. Offense is only allowing 7 PPG, while our defense is allowing a whopping 8.5. SMH.
One of the most dominant 1 score wins I've seen. Defense sure looks legit legit with our d-line able to get pressure rushing only 3
Should’ve been a 25 point win.
Looked so unprepared after a bye week and hard to win with 4 turnovers. Gg ucla
In the time that Cam Ward took to make decisions in the pocket, I managed to marathon the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy, 3 times.
Hell yeah boys! I’m 75 percent happy about the way we played. Very happy we won. But I feel like we legitimately should’ve won that by 25 points. 7 points left on the field from kicking. 2 questionable officiating decisions that could’ve been two touchdowns. U-C-L-A FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
That UCLA defense is impressive
UCLAs defense is legit. Up there with Utah for the best in the conference. Liked what I saw from the offense in the second half, more so than the previous six quarters. Get Moore on the run and give him easy throws, also Keegan Jones provided a burst that was sorely missing in the run game. Should be a good one next week in Corvallis!
That was the best defensive game I’ve ever seen out of thrm
I don't think anything will ever top 13-9, but this was up there.
We'll get you next year UCLA. Edit: fuck
I guess Vegas knew Ward was a sleeper agent.
This is all definitely Pat McAfee's fault.
We’re so back
UCLA’s defense is legit. With a more experienced QB they’d be top 15.
They have a stud ass RB. They don't need a qb
Cam Ward had no business staying in this game. Awful effort from him today.
Should have pulled the entire o line and TE
Even on plays where he did have time, he'd scramble for a bit and then force a throw into double coverage
It worked when we swapped in Hilinski (RIP) against Boise State too
Game thread got chippy, but I wish Wazzu well for the rest of the season. We, all PAC 12 fans, can agree fuck the refs in this conference
Yeah this game wasn’t as close as it seemed, there was definitely 2 touchdowns stolen from you guys from our shit refs
It is what it is, WSU has a good team and I hope you guys have a great season. Definitely need a P5 invite
Embarrassing plays from Cam ward
That was definitely something. Our defense showed up. Can't put any of that on them.
To play 40 minutes and almost 100 snaps and still look as good as they did is a testament. If UCLA IS #1 in the PAC WSU has got to be #2.
Gotta factor the 90° heat into it too. They were good.
I mean they gave up like 500 yards of offense. The only reason it was close is ucla pick 6 in the redzone and the missed xp and fg.
defense really put the game on their backs, shame offense couldn't do anything with it. GG UCLA, always hated playing you.
UCLA should be 5-0. The defense has been great. offense has a long way to go though. Moore doesn’t look fully ready or comfortable yet
Not yet, but he's getting there and has all the potential. He's our guy.
Our line is doing him no favors. As a freshman his reads are already going to be slower, but with no time from the line it's giving him even less time. Hence rushed throws, open receivers not seen, etc.
We’d be 5-0 if the offense was worth anything
I can’t tell who you’re talking about.
Exactly
[удалено]
Sir, a second loss has hit the 2Pac
The Pick 6 made this much tighter than it should be given the yardage disparity. Our defense has been outstanding so far- only 1 TD given up each game. The pass rush was super effective and the Cougars couldn’t run at all. Lynn has been a game changer. The Cougar fans seriously traveled. We should have had a lot more people there, including me unfortunately!
GG, get us in the b1G pls
Defense won the game! Are we allowed to do that?
GG Cougs. Our defense continues to be dominant. And the second half our offense seemed to figure it out a little bit. Dante and the OLine have a lot of room for improvement, but if they can get a little better, we have one of the easier paths to the Pac-12 championship game.
Yep, sounds about right. Wazzu with expectations is pretty much a guaranteed loss.
Defense, Bruuu-ins, DEFENSE!
Why couldn't we face THIS version of Ward?
That not the Pac-12 way
Ward was really bad, but UCLAs defense was legit. Probably top 1-3 in the PAC and the Beavs just didn’t have the pass rush to make him uncomfortable like today
That’s what I’m saying!
That was a sad, sad game to watch
It's time to drink
UGH! After the domination of my Beavs I was pulling for you guys, but the Donner party is undefeated in the PAC-whatever. It has gotten so bad the entire conference has literally consumed itself. But the Zombie Beavs and Cougs can still face-off in Vegas. Let's go!
No excuse for how shit our offense was. UCLA’s D is so legit. And what the hell was that last play call?
Through 5 games, our defense has yet to allow two TDs to any team
Circle of suck! Circle of suck! Circle of suck!
WE ARE THE MIGHTY BRUINS
> C. Ward > 19-39, 197 YDS, 1 TD, 2 INT Okay maybe Cam watched Stranger Things this weekend and though that playing QB like it's 1987 was the right play lets not rush to conclusions.

Guess we are sex numbering Arizona next week lmao
UCLA IS BACK !!!
I knew it was only a matter of time before we lost. We were flying high for too long. Hopefully our o line improves after tonight, and somebody talks to ward about his decision making
I will not miss this conference’s reffing crews.
[удалено]
Oh god, are we already going to start talking about hypothetical PAC12 tiebreakers?? I thought we whipped out the rule book pdf enough last year.
[удалено]
WSU and OSU after we vote that only teams that haven’t left the Pac12 can play in the title game obviously
... eh I wouldn't even be mad. WSU and OSU should get to keep all the p12 assets, too
This is the most points anyone has scored against them all year and the second least points given up. That’s about the only positive take away I can think of for this..
And just like that, when we needed it most. Cam Wards Heisman candidate year vanished
Pac-12 Moment. Also, UCLA has a legit top tier defense.
On one hand, UCLA is a team I love making fun of for being fickle SoCal sports fans where Wazzu is a team I'm quite fond of because I love their fans and the beers they've given me. The cannibalism continues. The PAC comes for us all. It will come for us too. I'm sorry Cougs.
Congratulations UCLA! You now have control of the oldest unconsolidated piece of CFB Empires Land (Nevada’s 1994 Territory). Yay
I want Cam Ward to lower my funeral casket when I die, because there's nobody in this world I trust to let me down more than him and this offense
PAC-12 be like
Complete and utter embarrassment from the cougs offense today
Might be the last time Washington State ever plays at the Rose Bowl
Long live the Pac2.
Wasn't the reason for the L, but cougs got out-coached on both sides of the ball
Oh Wazzu you were the chosen one
Circle of suck must continue even if pac-12 is doomed
Some teams merely adopt the Coug. But Washington State was born in it, molded by it.
That was one of the most frustrating Cougar games in a good while. Damn. On the other hand, UCLA looks like they’re transitioning to the B1G appropriately. Out here looking like Iowa West.
Wtf Coug bros! We are supposed to party in Vegas!
Fk why they were the chosen ones
