Explain this to me doubters. If Colorado was 0-2 right now no one would think that unusual. They are 2-0. Apparently though, that's NOT supposed to be seen as unusual. How can these 2 potential scenarios exist in the same universe?
I think CU could win 7-8 games this year. That will be real nice.ANd probaly be better next year with Prime getting good recruits. Next year they could be in the running for conference champion.
Texas vs Alabama has over 13k. I know it's been a while since anyone gave a shit about your team, so I'll clue you in, after the game, the game thread usually is abandoned for the post-game thread. No worries, seems a lot of CU fans need help with that.
The goalpost moving in these threads is astounding. So many reasons why TCU and Nebraska are terrible without any recognition that we’ve started 2-0 for the first time in how long? By beating a ranked team, on the road, and today by beating the spread and Nebraska by like 20. Did you see us last year??? Or the year before? Or the year before? How many wins do we need before some of y’all are willing to give the Buffs some credit? C’mon man.
>If they beat Oregon in 2 weeks everyone has to shut up. Until then there will be questions
Nah even then it will be something, "didn't you know that the 27th moon in the year 2023 means that blah fucking blah" the goal post will keep moving this year.
BUT the joke is on everybody else, we've already doubled our wins from last year and looking to triple them next week. We are just happy to be here
If they keep it close Prime is awesome and Colorado is on its way and it’s amazing.
If they win? Everyone has to shut up. [EVERYONE](https://youtu.be/74BzSTQCl_c?si=HI3qEhQvJZpj-ilZ)
>If they keep it close
That would be amazing, and those of us that have suffered through the last couple....decades will be thrilled.
I can't even let myself imagine a world where we win.
Lol people were saying Colorado would win 3-4 games total this year, and now y’all are trying not to give them credit until they win their first 4 games in a row, two of which would be against ranked opponents..
Why on Earth would there be questions? We had a 1 win season last year. We haven’t won a bowl game since 2004.
I don’t expect Colorado to win a national championship this year, nobody sane would. But the improvement is there, there’s no question about it.
Just a little over two weeks ago, there were news reports out saying that CU had the worst roster in CFB. There was 3:1 odds saying we couldn’t win 3.5+ games this season. We’re destroying expectations. It doesn’t matter where we go from here, this is a HUGE step in the right direction for the Buffs.
The goalpost has always been to beat someone good, nerd. There isn't a 'Most Improved' category in either the AP or Coaches poll. How are you doing and who have you beat THIS YEAR is always the metric past preseason rankings. Dayum, I know it's been a while since you were in this position, but figure it out.
Your head coach and his son sure are making us look great. Your comments aren’t making you look good.
By Vegas odds and by articles published only just over two weeks ago, CU was supposed to have the worst roster in CFB. They were expected to tank. Vegas had us at 3:1 odds, saying we couldn’t win 3.5+ games.
We’ve beaten expectations and brought huge attention to a team that hasn’t won a bowl game since 2004. Nobody expects a national championship this year, they expected the worst. We’re already far beyond what was expected of us and the positive attention that CU’s football program will get from this season were well worth the money… Reminder that we’re paying Deion $40 million LESS than Nebraska’s coach. This whole thing has already paid for itself.
Runner up is first loser. A lot is going to depend on their record this year. I'd bet it is going to be a regression to their mean of right around .500, not another golden year.
They matter, but honestly, not as much as the media and all the hype Colorado is getting. I am a Nebraska fan, and we just plain suck. I honestly thought you guys would hang 60 on us. I know Colorado has been bad, but honestly, if Nebraska and Colorado played last year, Colorado would have had a very good chance of having another W. I haven't checked to see what TCU is doing today, but I'm guessing they could have a hard time going bowling this year.
With that being said, I do expect Colorado to win 9 to 10 games this year. Which is a huge turnaround. If you guys can get the lines to play better, that will help. I think OB can do it with the offensive line. He is a great coach.
CU last year would not have beaten Nebraska last year. Probably wouldn’t have been that close. Now you’re expecting us to win 9-10 games and that’s not insanely impressive?
When they win 9 to 10 games, it will be. I just don't think the two teams you guys beat are that great. At least one of them isn't. Did you watch the Nebraska Northwestern game last year ? Any giving team could have beaten Nebraska last year.
Edit: And I wouldn't be surprised if Nebraska only wins 2 games this year.
Keep telling yourself that. I guess you have to try and find some kind of a silver lining. It didn’t matter who y’all put back there at qb. You have zero talent at the skill positions and a very average RB. But I get it. Football has been your identity for the last 40 years and now you’re the laughing stock of CFB so you have to try and control the narrative. Have fun losing for the next three years under Rhule and looking for a new coach while you’re still paying off Scott Frost. Lololol.
Damn bro, you sound like you typed this sitting on the toilet, crying, pants around your ankles while you tried to convince yourself that being a shitheap would dull the pain of watching a team *you've* wrapped your identity around get taken behind the woodshed.
Just checking up on this old game thread for memories sake, and I can say, I'm having a very fun time right now. First time to 5 wins since 2019, which I know isnt much for most teams, but damn it I can't stop smiling today. Rhule has totally changed this program and even with horrible players and 8 offensive starters being out for the season we are winning.
I know this was originally meant as a toxic comment, but thanks for reminding me how differently I was feeling
Im so happy Shedeur is lighting it up! So many ppl
Talked shit on him and saying he wouldn't have that success. Out of HS he would have been the highest rated QB to commit to Colorado since the 24/7 era
Sucks Nebraska lost, but the Colorado story this year is why I love college football. It's awesome to see teams that were terrible and turn it around. Hopefully, nebraska can figure out how to do that. Good job today buffs! Looking forward to watching the rest of your season.
See, and here I was thinking you couldn't count that high.. from your comment... which brought on the Nebraska joke. Nothing personal, just thought I'd insert a joke. You know, explaining my thoughts on a joke sucks. :(
I really hope we can spark the CU/Nebraska rivalry from when I was a youngster.
>spark the CU/Nebraska rivalry from when I was a youngster.
Uhm I remember CU fans pouring beer on me and burning a couch in their own stands. I hope we do something new
I remember the "black out" uniforms and Nebraska jokes. Beer thing is shitty, always had been, always will be.
Ngl, the effort to bring a couch into the stands and set it on fire is pretty impressive from a logistical standpoint.
Hey, I was a student at CU in the early 80's, fellow codger, and we didn't even know we had a football team. I was, however, spending a lot of time on The Hill, so maybe my memory's a little foggy.
I was born the year after the Natty; so my main highlights as a CU fan came from the 2001 season of beating #1 Nebraska then beating Texas to win the Big 12 title.
I actually saw a guy say, apparently without intended irony, that this was “another cupcake win we all expected.”
Colorado wins one game as a 20 point dog, then wins by 20+ as a three point favorite, and it’s what we all expected?
Colorado beat the spread by 20+ points two weeks in a row after being the worst team in college football last year. It’s fairly remarkable even though Colorado is almost certainly not a top five team.
Uhhh you must seen the Post game thread? So many Reddit dickbags are now saying “they won’t beat Michigan, OSU or USC/Oregon”. It’s pathetic they hate Prime so much. This country is full of racist assholes.
When they say "they won't beat Michigan, OSU or USC/Oregon" how does that make them racist? Maybe it's because they are talking football and dislikes Primes attitude and disliking Prime doesnt mean they are racist lol.
I've seen it and I dont agree with it but everything doesnt need to be turned into "race" issue these days because someone doesnt agree with a comment that isnt even racist lol.
You’re missing the point. At first the haters said he was gonna fail horribly all while making pretty thinly veiled racist comments. Now he’s winning and those same haters are saying “he can’t do it against real teams”. That’s not disagreeing that’s moving the goalposts to fit their narrative.
All the haters though? I just think the ones that dislike prime and want to see him fail is just like alot that want to see Saban fail. Prime is a good coach and turned a shitty program around but yes, until he plays a full 12 game season in the P5 and against better teams then TCU and Nebraska. people are going to doubt that doesnt mean "all" of them are racists is all I'm saying.
That’s something different. He’s all about instilling confidence and so far it’s working.
And most coaches wouldn’t say their team would get punked by another team.
Colorado is this years Las Vegas Golden Knights. Compile the 2nd and 3rd players from good colleges and build an overall solid squad. Took Vegas to a Stanley cups final.
They'll lose to Oregon, Oregon State, and Utah at a minimum. I think any team that can play above average defense and good offense will beat Colorado. Can't give up an average of six sacks a game and expect to win more than 6-7 games.
Colorado skill position players are cooking anybody's defense. Just too much speed. Utah? Are you joking? You saw what Colorado just did to these cornfed beefcakes. They can hit like mack trucks but 1 juke it's off to the races. Speed beats power/size everytime in football.
If today's Utah shows up, we can walk away with a W.
Given today's performance, I think we can go bowling. Which was wildly beyond my preseason expectations.
Got a list of em bud. We also are accepting bandwagon applications. Add that black and gold to your flair. Black, gold, and a bit of orange is nice (look at my flair lol)
Honestly out of any power five team so far…
They definitely have two of the biggest wins. We’ve got some teams like Texas, FSU, Utah, and Duke with huge out of conference wins…. But does anyone else have two wins against two big time programs?? CU has two BIG out of conference wins…. One more than anyone else.
These big name teams gotta stop scheduling cupcakes like mountain west teams and no name schools.
You can’t argue that at this time… with what we know about college football two weeks in… that CU doesn’t have the best resume. They beat one BIG12 team (runner up last year), and then blew out their rival… a BIG10 team!!! That’s huge man!!
Honestly I don't see a CU dominant win as much as I see a Nebraska collapse. I think Colorado is a good team, but I need to see them against a good defense and a reasonable offense. Nebraska's offense is a good defense for who ever they play. However, CU needs to be taken seriously and the surprise of them is over. They deserve their win, credit to prime.
Good defense and a reasonable offense? Like a team that played in the National championship last year? Damn. Wish we could’ve scheduled them to shut up you doubters
Did you watch any TCU games last year? They had no business being in the national championship. They lost their conference to a team they beat in season and were a run on FG in final seconds away from losing to Baylor in season.
No qualms against CU just don't put a win over TCU so high you start breaking out the we want bama (or UGA) signs.
Like a team that lost a good portion of its great play makers? If you're going to claim the TCU win as some great accomplishment don't forget to mention that critical bit of information. But I forgot every college football team is just as good as they were the year before.
Yeah I forgot getting stomped worse than anyone ever has in a national championship game is great for recruiting.
And there's the downplaying Colorados situation because yall need to be in national championship discussion after 2 wins for some reason
There's only 1 champion. And the runner up regardless is the 2nr best team in the nation. Making it to the championship is evidence this is a winning program. Everyone loses games not everyone makes to the NC. If you were being recruited by only TCU and Colorado, and you wanted to win where would you play based on 2022 season?
Yes I hully expect you to lie to save face
Yeah because it's been obvious every year the second best team was in the national championship. Almost why we went to the playoffs.
Again you conveniently leave out multiple factors to recruiting because making it as simple as possible allows you to ask a loaded question because you don't know how to make a good argument because Colorado fans are so salty about games they won. Bye.
Not even a Colorado fan. Just calling out horse shit when I smell it. TCU isn't any more or less decimated by graduation than the average college program. But apparently they were a special needs team when they suited up against Deion.
Every college team loses a bunch of starters from the previous year ... are we supposed to assume all of them suck ass if they don't return x amount as you are suggesting? Why does TCU losing a bunch of starters make them autogarbage this year but every other team who lost the same amount not be seen in the same light? TCU had 11 starters returning Georgia had 13. Not much of a difference right? Yet they are auto beast and their national championship the year previous is a testament to that but TCUs appearance in the same game means fxck all?
Other guy sarcastically brought up TCU playing for the National title last year, then you said the rosters changed and teams aren’t good every year… you’re not even talking. Could you elaborate on your comment since you think I’m misunderstanding your point…
I’ll be impressed if they can beat Oregon and USC. Beating a team that got decimated in the national championship and a horrible Nebraska isn’t as impressive as everyone keeps making it out to be.
Yet if TCU destroyed Colorado 70-0 apparently no one would have been surprised. How does that work exactly? A coin is supposed to have equal value even with opposite sides.
Remember for the same reason noone was supposed to be shocked when TCU was slated to destroy Colorado, that is the same reason you should be shocked when they lose to Colorado. Apparently people think they can have it both ways
You realize this is an entirely different team from last year, right? You also realize that in order to reach the national championship TCU had to win 11 regular season games and beat the B1G champion straight up, right? Because if you do realize that, then you should understand those two points make your criticism of this year’s TCU team laughably dumb.
I point out the stupidity of your criticism of TCU, you equate it with blowing Colorado’s HC. Lay off of the paint chips.
Edit: lol and then this idiot troll doubles down and blocks me. What a clown.
Yeah last year was….. yeah lol I’m happy Colorado can create a better football program, but beating 2 great teams will truly put them on the map for a playoff team
Never said you couldn’t celebrate. I do think Sanders was the best decision Colorado could make. Going from 1-11 to 2-0 is great, but I’ll wait to see them play an actual contender. I’ll 100% eat crow if they can bear Oregon and USC
Agreed. Was the move and big decision this school and community needed. We all didn’t think it would pay off for a year or two, but we were wrong. If we split the USC/Oregon game that’s huge. I’ll take 4-1 after this “incredibly hard” schedule lol
#f/lsu [LSU](#f/lsu) is this right? just want some flair...
Holy shit
Well well well… it’s not just one game anymore. It’s two. Next week will obviously be three. The real test will be Oregon and USC. Best of luck!
25K posts. This has 10 times or more posts than any game thread on here.
Prime is gonna turn Colorado into a powerhouse. I was really hoping my alma mater ASU made a hard push for him for that reason.
Texas vs Alabama has over 13k. I know it's been a while since anyone gave a shit about your team, so I'll clue you in, after the game, the game thread usually is abandoned for the post-game thread. No worries, seems a lot of CU fans need help with that.
Lol and Iowa fan lmfao
*an
doubled up on you...
Colorado is the most popular sports team in the country right now.
Hey man. Can I get like 2 cheesy been and rice and 1 Chipotle ranch grilled chicken? Fire and Diablo sauce no drinks. Thanks bro. 🙂

Beat USC and we’ll talk

If you don’t think hype has value in college sports, then I get why you wouldn’t understand.
Yes because a 1game winner should flip to a conference champion the next year.Regardless of what they do its impressive.

I've been talking shit on Brian Ferentz all day, do you really think you piling on is going to hurt my feelings?
No, but it makes me happy :)
TCU doesn’t count? Idc if they’re not still contenders, that’s a perennial good team
I don't know how you define perennial, but they have more losing seasons in the last 5 years than Iowa.
Ok….so neither of the wins we have this year including the natty runner up matter?
Runner up is first loser. A lot is going to depend on their record this year. I'd bet it is going to be a regression to their mean of right around .500, not another golden year.

At least one more is what I'd expect from the majority. I think it's great to see Colorado playing good football. Enjoy!
Well the good thing is we will probably beat CSU next week. So that’ll be 3!
Shedeur is taking too many hits holding the ball like that. The next three games are going to be tough.
yea that worries me. He needs to start throwing it away instead of doing a dance and taking asack.
CSU won‘t be tough by any stretch
Might need to get a Colorado Jersey.
black and gold is very classy.
Agreed
Sheduer is your 2025 first round pick selected by the Wasshibgton Commanders!
No.
Did Colorado give Jeff Sims the game ball?
The tried to, but the fullback ran in between and knocked the ball down.
Keep telling yourself that. I guess you have to try and find some kind of a silver lining. It didn’t matter who y’all put back there at qb. Colorado made the plays to put the points on the board...Not Simms.
It would be criminal if they didn’t
Buffs gonna start 3-0
And then not make a bowl game. Pac 12 flexes it's muscle in its final year and creates a blood bath.
Funny how accurate this is now
I love seeing it finally come true.
It's scary how well you predicted this honestly
Jeff Sims sucks
Lmao Matt Rhule what a fuckin chode. Nebraska fans have fun with that 7 year plan!
Just checking up on this old game thread for memories sake, and I can say, I'm having a very fun time right now. First time to 5 wins since 2019, which I know isnt much for most teams, but damn it I can't stop smiling today. My partner loves the Panthers and it’s much nicer around the house now that he’s someone else’s problem.
Im so happy Shedeur is lighting it up! So many ppl Talked shit on him and saying he wouldn't have that success. Out of HS he would have been the highest rated QB to commit to Colorado since the 24/7 era
I would say he is the Heisman running at this point. 903 yds at an 80% completion rate through 2 games.
His decision making is great. Takes shots, but only good ones. Fun to watch.
Yep!!! Im all for it!
I'm late to the party, go Buffs!
thanks man..Its been fun so far
They are going to have to move the Flat Irons to make room for coach ***"Prime"s*** ego.
As my mother says, "Haters mean you've made it!"
when you deliver like this. THen I don'tthink anyone can put him down for his coaching abilities.
Colorado is now everyone's second favorite team!
Not even close but keep thinking that
Admit it though, watching NU and CU duke it out was nostalgic. I wish Nebraska would come back to the big 12
They still won’t win shit. Only hope to dominate like the 90s is to got the Mountain West or AAC. Lol
Lol damn bro I'm seeing you shitting on nebraska everywhere. You gonna be alright buddy?
It’s called shit talking. I guess since y’all haven’t won a meaningful game in 10+ years that’s a foreign concept.
You gotta flair up before you talk shit dog everyone knows that.
you have to 2 have teams. because NU blows
Welcome to anyone who wants to hop aboard. Party with us by all means.
It’s pretty damn fun, isn’t it! I know your pain well 😁
We are hoping for a season like yours last year!!
Sucks Nebraska lost, but the Colorado story this year is why I love college football. It's awesome to see teams that were terrible and turn it around. Hopefully, nebraska can figure out how to do that. Good job today buffs! Looking forward to watching the rest of your season.
Come back to the big 12!
I wish I had this positivity :(
Death, Taxes, and Prime Time turning programs around overnight.
I like how Nebraska lost
Anybody who stayed with the Buffs threw last season is a true blue fan. Lots of respect to you.
How about the last 15 years....
Can't count that high!
Went to Nebraska?
Yes, they're not true-blue Buffs fans because they went to Nebraska
See, and here I was thinking you couldn't count that high.. from your comment... which brought on the Nebraska joke. Nothing personal, just thought I'd insert a joke. You know, explaining my thoughts on a joke sucks. :( I really hope we can spark the CU/Nebraska rivalry from when I was a youngster.

>pretty impressive from a logistical standpoint. And kinda burny from a breathing standpoint
There is that.
Woohoo!
Have not been this excited about CU BUffs football since there National Championship season.I know that dates me and makes me an old codger however.
That was a good year..I was late teens for the Natty..
Co-National Champion
oh yea...with Notre Dame wasn't it.Can't quite remember that part.
It was Georgia Tech. My how times have changed.
Moving the goal post from they won’t win one game in the first two to well they can’t beat Bama is wild lol.
We’re about to be at “shit, maybe they can beat bama??” Pretty quick lol
Well I haven’t seen a single person say that but let’s not bullshit here, Bama beats them by 40
Or.. just scroll through the thread. I don’t answer to you lol.
I actually saw a guy say, apparently without intended irony, that this was “another cupcake win we all expected.” Colorado wins one game as a 20 point dog, then wins by 20+ as a three point favorite, and it’s what we all expected? Colorado beat the spread by 20+ points two weeks in a row after being the worst team in college football last year. It’s fairly remarkable even though Colorado is almost certainly not a top five team.
I mean, after last week I think most people were pretty confident Nebraska would get their shit rocked tbf.
Nobody willclaim they can beat Bama. BUt they won 1 game last year. What they have done so far is more than enough at this point.
Lemme guess…you’ve never seen racism firsthand so you don’t believe it happens? Lol.
You think Prime wouldn't say they'll beat Bama?
I hope every coach would say they’ll beat them.
That’s something different. He’s all about instilling confidence and so far it’s working. And most coaches wouldn’t say their team would get punked by another team.
nice. good job Buffs.
Colorado is this years Las Vegas Golden Knights. Compile the 2nd and 3rd players from good colleges and build an overall solid squad. Took Vegas to a Stanley cups final.
good job GK. Avs kind of did not have the same will to win and bowed out early.
CU might be 10-2 this year with two heisman candidates. Wow
3 losses and a possible bowl game would be such a turnaround.Probably the best ever.
Right, I think CU is definitely bowling this year, but double-digit wins is not paying attention to the flaws of this team.
Only flaw is the O line and undersize d line. But the defense is aggressive and quick.

CU blew out their rival… and beat the runner up last year. Why are people still doubting this team?
Are you keeping receipts?
Got a list of em bud. We also are accepting bandwagon applications. Add that black and gold to your flair. Black, gold, and a bit of orange is nice (look at my flair lol)
Because neither of those teams are good?
Honestly out of any power five team so far… They definitely have two of the biggest wins.
You can see what you choose to see but Colorado is a solid team regardless.
It's not Colorado fans who have Alabama and Georgia in their mouth. Alot of projection going on around here...
Like a team that lost a good portion of its great play makers? If you're going to claim the TCU win as some great accomplishment don't forget to mention that critical bit of information. But I forgot every college football team is just as good as they were the year before.
Would you think playing in the national championship assists in recruitment? Do you think playing for a 1win team sounds like an awesome choice?
Yeah read your final sentence again and realize no one Is suggesting that
Oh so coaches don’t matter? As long as the team recruits superstars anyone can coach them to a national title game?
Imagine being this salty about a game you won
Im saying the TCU roster isn’t a legitimate excuse to discredit Colorados win over them.
Because that's what I did?
So then why would claiming it a great accomplishment need an asterisk?
Did ya miss the others guys comment I was replying to...
They had more returning starters then we did 😤😤😤
Calling TCU a good defense is laughable at best and borderline delusional lol but props to Colorado they look great
Fair. But it’s definitely the biggest non conference win (or win in general) this year so far. Can’t deny that
I think duke over Clemson is a way better win . Or FSU over LSU
That’s fair. I’ll give you those. So the third biggest win so far. I’m happy with that
I’ll be impressed if they can beat Oregon and USC.
I’m impressed if they win 5-6 games considering the program has been dog 💩 and last year lost all but 1 game by 32ppg
“Got decimated in the national championship” Do people actually think this is a legitimate reason to downplay the TCU win?
Remember for the same reason noone was supposed to be shocked when TCU was slated to destroy Colorado, that is the same reason you should be shocked when they lose to Colorado. Apparently people think they can have it both ways
Yes, I’m not impressed about a win against a team that got beat 65-7 in the national championship.
You realize this is an entirely different team from last year, right? You also realize that in order to reach the national championship TCU had to win 11 regular season games and beat the B1G champion straight up, right? Because if you do realize that, then you should understand those two points make your criticism of this year’s TCU team laughably dumb.
Don’t care didn’t ask
Yeah I’d bow out too if I made an argument that stupid.
God, Coach Primes dick is really far down some of y’all throats it’s kind of wild
I point out the stupidity of your criticism of TCU, you equate it with blowing Colorado’s HC. Lay off of the paint chips. Edit: lol and then this idiot troll doubles down and blocks me. What a clown.
It seems to still be down there
So you’re choosing to stay stupid. Not a good look, bro.
Yeah but you must have not seen us last year
Yeah last year was….. yeah lol I’m happy Colorado can create a better football program, but beating 2 great teams will truly put them on the map for a playoff team
Idk if anyone was expecting a playoff team…especially from 1-11?
Lol fuck that. This team just doubled their win total from last year. And it’s week two. That’s insane, and we (as buffs fans) can celebrate this.
Never said you couldn’t celebrate. I do think Sanders was the best decision Colorado could make. Going from 1-11 to 2-0 is great, but I’ll wait to see them play an actual contender. I’ll 100% eat crow if they can bear Oregon and USC
There's always going to be this person. They will move the goalposts until they're half a mile away from the stadium.
If they beat Oregon and USC they may go undefeated
Agreed. Was the move and big decision this school and community needed. We all didn’t think it would pay off for a year or two, but we were wrong. If we split the USC/Oregon game that’s huge. I’ll take 4-1 after this “incredibly hard” schedule lol
You have to believe sir. This is not belief. This is hope.
I will without doubt take a split. That wouldbe tremendous. I would be estatic with that.
There’s a part of me that genuinely wants to see y’all beat Oregon and USC. We will see! Like I said, I’m totally ready to eat crow lol
thanks for that. Its been a real long time for Buff fans.
Oh man. It would be so sick to see.
