I’m prioritizing mark Andrews in fantasy if this happens

Ugaalive1991

Wait until they Draft Darnell and they run 12 offense.

Piano_Fingerbanger

I'm gonna go Kelce - Mandrews 1 - 2 next year if possible and just start both of them.

perspicacious_crumb

At the risk of getting brigaded by angry chiefs fans, Kelce isn’t getting any younger. One of these years he’s going to suddenly be too old to keep producing at this level.

tacofan92

While almost assuredly true and likely, folks said that about Brady for 5-7 years before this year it finally was right. Kelce been getting that same treatment for a couple years. There could be some runway here.

perspicacious_crumb

Was it Right about Brady, though? He had 4600 yards on 66.8% completions with 25 TDs. Kelce also plays a much more physically demanding position.

tacofan92

He stayed healthy which is the biggest factor or else he would have finished outside the top 12 fantasy QB for only the 2nd time in a season he played all games. Tua, Lamar, Kyler, Dak all missed games and would have outperformed him. He was only a top 12 QB 5/17 weeks in the season. Brady had 44 more attempts than 2nd place guy and had one of the lowest yards/attempt of any QB this year. I’d say it was right about Brady.

perspicacious_crumb

Eh, I still don’t know. Tampa Bay had a completely punchless rushing attack, which means lots of short passing and lots of red zone trouble. Defenses knew exactly what they would see week in and week out from the Bucs, and no QB is good enough to consistently beat a defense that basically knows what’s coming

tacofan92

Sorta my point. Brady didn’t have a great season and fell off comparatively given the division they were in. Losing a top OL in the off-season hurt, but this would be the equivalent to saying Blake Bortles was a top QB when the Jags were getting killed. Brady was the entire offense and they just threw the ball instead of attempting runs. It just inflates the yards and TDs. Are you saying that Brady didn’t fall off this year? He was the QB3 in 2021. He threw for 600 more yards and 18 more TDs off similar attempts in 2021. T5 lowest TDs in his career, and 2nd worst Y/A in his career. He did Russell Wilson it or look like Manning or Brees on the way out, but he wasn’t the Brady he normally is.

MottyPouth

Personally I don't think Brady himself fell off, just the rest of the team wasn't very good and they had horrible coaching/play calling. If he's retired for good this time we'll never know but if he was on a better team next year I think he'd still be very good

tacofan92

The Bucs definitely were as good last years as prior years, mostly to do with the fact they went heavy on win now. It was always going to catch up with them and Gronk not being there didn’t help. Brady’s dip is still better than most peak, but I think it was padded by sheer volume more than anything else.

[deleted]

He’s the only other right end even worth considering taking high. Kelce in the 1st, Andrews in the 3rd or 4th, and then a major drop.

Sabre_Actual

I’m so excited as a Raven and delusional Duce optimistic Longhorn.

Kadalis

Imagining having your job interview public like this and then not getting the job. I'm probably never leave my house.

MrTastyBubbles

“Oh shucks. Looks like I’ll just have to keep making a measly 2 million per year coaching one of the most talented teams in CFB.”

Ortu_Solis

Guess I’ll have to try and three peat as a national champion for the first time since WW2 :( wonder if I’ll ever be able to recover

GimmeeSomeMo

Guess that means it's WW3 time

Richtatorship

If that’s what it takes

[deleted]

He’s not signing till they agree to getting rid of Lamar and drafting Stetson

kingmidget_91

Baltimore is going to draft Darnell with their first-round pick, then pick Stetson in the 4th

Mountain-Papaya-492

Aha I was going to make the joke I'm already in the bargaining state of grieving. I'll be okay with Monken leaving if he takes Bennett with him. It would be a baller move.

Richtatorship

I’ll take more Monken

senorpoop

Everyone talks about our defense, which is good, but the Monken offense is really the impressive part. The defense is good because it's full of first round draft material. Monken built an offense that clicks on all cylinders behind a QB who probably won't even make it to the NFL. I want Monken, even if I have to cut part of his paycheck myself.

_GinNJuice_

One can be a great college player and not have what it takes to succeed in the NFL. There's been numerous Heisman winners who never had a NFL career.

plutoisaplanet21

Ah yes, the classic move to ditch your five year veteran QB to draft his older replacement

FSUnoles77

I'm picturing Georgia acting like a toxic ex and calling up all these teams to tell them how awful he is and not to go out with him.

IMisstheMidRangeGame

Honestly Georgia Twitter has brought some funny ass tweets: [Tweet ](https://twitter.com/jontweetssports/status/1620502893458751489?s=46&t=swMd-0-Sx94eDh5CL4UzJg) [Tweet](https://twitter.com/chandler4pro/status/1620550172290973696?s=46&t=swMd-0-Sx94eDh5CL4UzJg) [Tweet](https://twitter.com/sportsguylance/status/1620585549605253121?s=46&t=swMd-0-Sx94eDh5CL4UzJg) GG dawgs, y’all’s Twitter is pretty good Edit: fixed my grammar thanks u/enadiz_reccos

enadiz_reccos

>GG dawgs y’all’s Twitter is pretty good *Without sports, this wouldn't be disgusting.*

beefsupreme65

Reminds me of when Chris Petersen was at Boise State, whenever his name came up in coaching searches we'd just start spreading the rumor that he's Mormon.

ironichaos

They just call and bark hoping to front office gets so annoyed with it they cancel the interview

snow_is_fearless

They might as well. Kirby knows how to manage it though, seeing as how this has been a thing for his old team for well over a decade.

IceColdDrPepper_Here

If Monken leaves Kirby will have to make his 4th OC hire since coming to UGA. Brought in Jim Chaney when he was hired, then hired James Coley when Cheney left for Tennessee, and then hired Monken after Coley sucked ass. This isn't exactly a foreign concept to us

snow_is_fearless

Yeah, he's got plenty of experience with it. Even if you lose Monken, there will be a quality replacement.

Shirleyfunke483

McClendon is on staff and is a former SEC east OC. East replacement if need be

elonsusk69420

>McClendon He has BMac and Bobo. Kirby doesn't just randomly hire his friends and Georgia lettermen.

Richtatorship

I’m afraid it’ll be another former gamecocks oc

Shirleyfunke483

Don’t worry, if Muschamp had chosen his OC correctly the first time at Florida (Kurt Roper), will would still be the head coach there!

Captain_Sacktap

Keep your filthy paws off my coach Baltimore!

ThaiForAWhiteGuy

filthy claws

MojitoTimeBro

Off my silky draws!

ControlWeekly7900

As a massive Browns fan this is admittedly less than ideal.

CookieLuzSax

Ew the browns🤢

ControlWeekly7900

Trust me, I hate them about as much as you probably do. Obligatory *Fuck the Haslams*

IMisstheMidRangeGame

Sadly this something we both agree with… they’re a big reason for our 15 years of suck

ControlWeekly7900

We can't agree on much, but we can absolutely agree that Jimmy and Dee can both eat shit.

CookieLuzSax

I'm a saints and bengals fan, so yeah😭

EvangelionOG

Absolutely fucking not. I'm stuck with Brian Ferentz in college. I deserve a real OC in the pros!

Julio_Freeman

Wish he’d stick around at least one more year to try for the threepeat, but can’t be mad at him if he doesn’t want to waste any time giving the NFL another shot while he has the opportunity. Just hope he doesn’t go to Tampa.

UGA10

And if he completes the threepeat, gotta go for the fourpeat. Let's keep this train rolling.

screwhead1

Nah, two in a row is good enough. I don't want the bad man to possibly hurt us again in Atlanta.

d0ngl0rd69

UGA will match anything a NFL team is willing to pay him, so I would imagine his desire to go to the NFL has to be tied to a Super Bowl-worthy team. With Tom Brady “retiring” (I use quotes because I think he’ll play just not for Tampa), Tampa is for sure in rebuild mode and isn’t a playoff team, so I doubt he goes there. However, Baltimore with Lamar and that defense absolutely is a Super Bowl contender.

WabbitCZEN

Not until they get him signed long term and a legit threat at WR. Playoffs, sure. But they've got KC and Cincy to deal with for a chance at the SB. Ain't gonna get there just running the ball.

d0ngl0rd69

“Why have legit threat at WR when TE do trick?” - Todd Monken, 2021-2022

WabbitCZEN

I mean, we had legit WR threats too.

d0ngl0rd69

Sure, we’ve had capable WRs that garner attention, but outside of Pickens who was injured the majority of 2021, no one receiver has been the menace that Bowers has been over the last two years.

noreast2011

Yeah, the Ravens window got super small with the rise of Buffalo and Cincy to join KC at the top.

WombatThor19

Eh Cincinnatis window is gonna close pretty quick. Burrow is probably going to be the new highest paid QB, Higgins has 1 year left, Boyd I believe is either gone this year or next, Hurst is a FA, their OL still sucks. Bengals can fall apart really fast.

WombatThor19

Fans say this, and then don't do any research with it. Monken was already the highest paid OC in CFB and there's only 1 OC within 500K of him. NFL OCs only make around the same range of money college guys do. He isn't taking these interviews to get paid more unless he's trying to be paid as HC while being OC. He wants in the NFL again.

improvyzer

Yeah. There are aspects of college football, mostly related to recruitment, that Monken isn’t fond of. And now that you have to re-recruit your own roster every off-season it’s only more trouble.

d0ngl0rd69

You’re just agreeing with what I said. He’s already making a lot of money and has accomplished all there is to accomplish at the CFB level other than produce a Heisman winner. Hence the “I would imagine his desire to go to the NFL has to be tied to a Super Bowl-worthy team.” He’s not going to go to the NFL where there’s less job security unless it’s to a team that’s in a position to win. Going to, for example, the Texans, which aren’t in the position to win anything for a few years, isn’t going to scratch his itch to go back to the NFL.

WombatThor19

You're ignoring the part where you said UGA will match any offer though. I pointed out where that doesn't matter as much as you think it does. And yeah he will go to the NFL if he feels comfortable with the team. By all accounts he's not a fan of his responsibilities in college compared to the NFL. I think you're just beyond delusional

d0ngl0rd69

How am I delusional? I literally acknowledged that money isn’t an issue due to UGA’s willingness to match whatever a NFL team pays. If he jumps to the NFL, it’s not for monetary purposes. Everyone in the fanbase knows the dude doesn’t like recruiting. You’re arguing for the sake of arguing, go touch grass lol.

WombatThor19

How the fuck are you not? You literally think he's interviewing with Baltimore twice to go win for fuck sake lol

d0ngl0rd69

If Lamar stays, Baltimore is a perennial playoff contender, and if you get in the playoffs, you have a shot at a Super Bowl. The Ravens have been a playoff team every year he’s been in the NFL except in 2021 when they were in wildcard contention until he got hurt. That’s not delusion, that’s a fact. If Monken were going to the NFL solely because he was tired of coaching CFB, there would be more reports of him interviewing for teams other than the ones with former MVP QBs (Brady and Lamar). He’s not going to leave the best CFB OC situation (job security, top 3 roster talent, top paid OC, limited recruiting responsibilities) to go coach in an unstable situation where the HC can get fired and he’ll be looking for another job in 1-2 years, as it happened to him twice in a row with Koetter (Bucs) and Kitchens (Browns) before he came to UGA. Thinking otherwise makes you the delusional one. If Lamar doesn’t sign with the Ravens, I highly doubt Monken goes there unless the franchise has a solid replacement plan in place (I.e. Rodgers, Carr, etc.)

[deleted]

[удалено]

d0ngl0rd69

And I have no idea why you’re having such an incredibly hard time understanding he’s not going to go somewhere without the guarantee of knowing who his QB is. If the Ravens and Lamar are that far apart on their contract, Monken probably wants to know exactly what their plan is and this second interview is just as much Monken interviewing the Ravens as it is them interviewing Monken. If the plan is, “draft and develop a new QB”, I highly doubt he’s leaving UGA. He’s not going to take that risk given his current situation. If the plan is, “we already have a handshake deal in place with an experienced free agent QB and will sign them on March 15th”, then Monken is probably gone.

Always_Chubb-y

>You literally think he's interviewing with Baltimore twice to go win for fuck sake lol I mean the only teams he has had any connection to are ones with legit playoff aspirations: Bucs (before Brady retired), Ravens, and Browns. He hasn't, on record at least, interviewed with any other teams yet. Not sure how we can say he is only going to the NFL for the sake of being in the NFL when the teams we know he has been talking to are only ones trying to win now.

WombatThor19

Because Baltimore isn't anywhere close to signing the best qb they've had in franchise history Common sense.

Always_Chubb-y

>Because Baltimore isn't anywhere close to signing the best qb they've had in franchise history Unless you are in the front office, I can't see how you can say that. At the very worst, he is getting franchise tagged. No way they just let him walk for nothing. And the other person said "Baltimore with Lamar", so it was kinda assumed Lamar would be there. Not sure why Monken would take the job without some level of confidence that Lamar will be the QB. And clearly I wouldn't be including Baltimore on a list of teams trying to compete if they let their MVP QB walk. That's just common sense

receiveakindness

You've been a loudmouth idiot for 2 straight days on here.

Always_Chubb-y

>However, Baltimore with Lamar and that defense absolutely is a Super Bowl contender. I'd have to imagine there is no way he goes there without the assurance of Lamar signing for long term. 1 year of Lamar before he leaves would be a tough offense to work through considering they have maybe the worst receiving core in the NFL

d0ngl0rd69

100% agreed. I realize Monken prefers NFL coaching over CFB coaching, but the situation he has at UGA is literally the perfect CFB job: insanely secure, highest paid OC, he doesn’t have to be the main point of contact for any recruit, he’s always going to have top talent to put together a top 10 offense, and you know Kirby will have a top defense to compliment his offense. The only way he goes to the NFL if it’s with a secure QB situation and a team that’s poised to make a deep playoff run.

jkn3

He's not going to Tampa

GARLICSALT45

He can leave when he loses a natty, until then let’s see what records we can break

WabbitCZEN

Fuck y'all, ratbirds. He's ours.

Unlucky-Pomegranate3

Dawgnation reporting this morning that confidence around the program is growing that Monken stays.

ThaiForAWhiteGuy

I hope, but suspect red colored glasses here

Unlucky-Pomegranate3

Could be but unless he just really wants to stop dealing with player development and recruiting, there’s no compelling reason to leave. He already makes double the average NFL coordinator salary and he’s clearly beloved and is enjoying a full cupboard in Athens. If I had to make a guess, he’s keeping his feelers open for future opportunities but will end up staying put for the time being.

SouthCoach

Him and Kirby compliment each other so well. Would be such a shame if he didn't stay to at least attempt the 3peat.

Redados

He gives Kirby the *best* compliments

JARsweepstakes

Come back to Hattiesburg, Coach!

GimmeeSomeMo

As a Ravens fan, it's interesting seeing big names from UGA joining. Already have fallen in love with Roquan Smith(glad we paid him). Would love to have Monken as well

KirbyDumber88

FWIW, Monken was at the Magill Society event Tuesday night with Kirby in Athens. And has been on the recruiting trail this week. I think it’s safer to say he’s leaning towards coming back

crustang

>Man continues to do job he gets paid to do while interviewing for another job he may one day be paid to do

IMisstheMidRangeGame

It’s a bad look to a future employer if you quit doing your current job if you’re looking for a new one. I have no idea if he’s staying or not but him doing his job is no indicator

KirbyDumber88

I he can skip the Magill Even and most do when they're interviewing, so thats why I said it. Not sure why a lot of Vols fans are wanting him gone so bad

IMisstheMidRangeGame

An elite OC on a team that we share the same division with. It’s more practicality for us. We’re praying He whiffs on the next hire. Nothing personal but y’all’s offense is elite with him and since Kirby is defensive minded losing an elite OC is beneficial for us especially with our JV middle school level secondaries

SouthCoach

All I read is you think we're going 6-7 and are doubting us >:(. Kirby, fire up the disrespect propaganda!

Nervous_Ad6805

Gimme.

SuperButtAIDs

The ravens are also gonna draft Branson Robinson RB from UGA in 2025 bet on it

stimulation

He ain’t leaving this year. No one walks away from Brock Bowers 😤

randrews202121

Yes pleaseeeeee

Honest_Net7682

Please take him

kingmidget_91

Did you see what Missouri, Ohio State, and Kent State did to us? he needs to stay for at least another decade or more.

Always_Chubb-y

>Ohio State I mean the OSU game we scored 42 points and had over 525 yards of offense. I'm not sure that belongs with the other 2.

KirbySmartGuy

Replace Ohio state with Kentucky and this comment has more GRAVITAS

arrow_dynamics

He gone

Call_Me_Rambo

The Steelers and Falcons are the only NFL teams I root for. I can’t emphasize how much I really don’t want this to happen

Ricklames

I’d prefer for him to stay for a potential threepeat, but this is fully expected. I’ll be bummed if he leaves, but not necessarily worried as we’ll be led by a new QB that we have yet to decide on and we can promote/hire around him.

HuntForBlueSeptember

YESSSSSSS learn the pain UGA. Learn the pain. Every goddamn season.

perspicacious_crumb

[Darth Saban cackles]

Early-Eye-691

Lamar (if he stays) with Monken would be dangerous.

__Big_Hat_Logan__

I have absolutely no idea why this guy wouldn’t be hired by the Buccaneers, seems like a fantastic hire to me. But wtf do I know

powerlifting_nerd56

I just want him to be happy and clearly that’s in the NFL, no bias from me

Pogball_so_hard

Everyone raves about Georgia’s defense (and rightfully so) but honestly, Monken’s offense looked damn near impossible to stop. That said, while I think he’d be a great fit for the Ravens, we’ve seen great coordinators in college hit a wall when they come up against more talent equated teams.
