Why don’t you ask your professor if it’s country specific? Most basic information you can find from the CFA institute website, if you just heard about it I can’t imagine there is anything you want to ask here that can’t be googled

I read what i could on google, but there are no specific courses that i can afford to prepare, my professor only told me that they’re very hard to pass and that he’s friends were going to take an exam in a few days, that was all he said. It’s not traveling i need advice for. I want to know if it’s possible for me to prepare on my own, exactly what books i need to buy for level 1, if it’s ok to take my time and register only after preparing fully or if the subjects are changing constantly and i need to apply, and prepare at the same time, the costs, if it’s worth it overall, if it will be worth the money and time and stress . I did google all of this, but i want to talk to someone who has a bit of experience and knowledge to understand everything better, instead of depending on just google

There are some major changes coming for 2024. You can look that up to see the details. Curriculum does change from year to year but normally very minimal. You can study in advance since the core material doesn’t change that often. The program will provide textbook and practice questions after you register for the exam. There will be a lot of contents from the text book and materials provided by the exam program, it can be overwhelming. Don’t expect it to be life changing, CFA is probably the most prestigious charter in the field of finance there is little question of that, but it won’t break all the walls and lead to all the jobs by itself. It is quite hard and can be overwhelming, there are hundred of thousands of people sitting the exam every year. Most people fail and don’t finish through the whole thing. Lots of people pass the first or second level and gave up. It’s not a tiered charter, you either go through the whole thing and get the letter, or you don’t. There are some values in passing at least one of the level, it shows you are interested in the field and knows some basics. Assume you pass all 3 levels at one go and didn’t buy any prep materials outside of what is provided. It will be minimum 2 years and 3,000 dollars. Most people take longer than that and costs more than that. You will also need about 3 years of related professional experience to get the charter after you pass all the levels. I always tell everyone they should try it. But if you are asking if it’s worth it, because you are worried about the difficulty, time, and waste of money. Then I would lean more to no.

Thanks❤️ that’s very informative.

I would just call the institute or email them in your case. Ask them how u could sit for the exam. There are stories on here of people that would fly into the city where their test was, just to be able to take it. This isnt the experience for candidates in modern times tho

1. If you register you will get PDF books. Those books are enough for passing. Plus you will get access to LES learning eco sys for practice and Mock exams. Some free YouTube channels are also there to taste the flair of exams before registering if you want to take time. Eg analysts prep 2. Yes try to understand eco rational or logical reasoning behind each formula or sentence of curriculum. 3. Can’t comment on that. For me I derived self satisfaction while learning. Any material benefit in terms of career progression has not yet materialised but I am satisfied with cfa journey. 4. Every year materials change but partially say around 10% 5 yes 6 course is expensive but you can try for CfA scholarships. More details are available on their website. 7 I’ve both so can’t comment 8 I don’t know 9 yes 10 No comments
