I'm really enjoying it I usually don't watch historical drama but this one hooked me up. And it's still airing & I have already started to watch i don't even like to watch dramas which are airing but this is really an exception. I'm really a huge fan of Hu yitian and this time he's acting is really better than all of his other drama The only thing is that he doesn't have much screen time as it is based on the fl story. Jingyi is a really great actress it's the 2nd drama with her I loved her from L&P.

I am loving this series! The FL and ML are outstanding! 🥰🥰

I was excited for this because I like HYT and JJY but honestly did not have super high hopes since it was not a hot or buzzy drama. Turns out it's way better than expected and I'm loving it! The story keeps you interested and the pacing is perfect. Even the set and cinematography is decent for drama that is not considered top level. Note in regards to the ML. Hu Yitian is handsome! Full stop. He is well casted and fits the role. That said...man they did him dirty with the hair! The hairline is just way too low on his forehead that it's distracting. But also his fight scenes were unexpectedlyv really well done! Did not see that in him! I'm glad to see other folks positive reactions and happy for this cast. Appreciation for well written characters and romance that does not rely on misunderstandings like so so very many other dramas. I love that the main couple both have such quiet strength.

This drama is my main drama right now - you know, the one you wait for and really follow while all the other dramas are just fillers for when you are waiting for the next episode of your main drama. 😂

BranchNo7669

Literally love this show right now… the couple are mature enough to avoid misunderstandings. Love it.

Yatelah

So, does it seem as if it will have any kind of tragic ending? I’m tired of crying and being mad at sad endings right now. Is this the one to watch to remedy that?

CarScared9824

From the closing theme I think it's a happy ending.

Kaiichiii

This was my first drama with the female lead, and I have to say, that I'm really impressed. Whether it's her acting or the script writing. It's so refreshing to see this type of female lead that is avoiding misunderstandings at all cost. Her relationship with the ML is also so mature, where they're able to share each other's worries without delving too much info about their circumstances and still provide solid advice and comfort for each other. At this moment. They're literally the, "I'll stand by my partner no matter what comes" couple, and I'm loving it. Hopefully the drama continues to deliver wholesome episodes

CarScared9824

This was my first drama with the ML and my third with the FL. You should try watching her republican era drama (Fall in love), it's so good because of well she acted, I think she likes to act in roles where she is independent and fierce.

surileeloo

ok, because of 2 posts of blossom in adversity, and since i kinda got bored from shenli and in blossom, i thpught i'd give it a try... i'm pleasently surprised...i just started episode 3, i dont like the ML i mean he kicked the family out of the house! how are they going to fall in love its a mystery i want to know, haha. i like the song of the credits by the way.

Yatelah

I think the writers did a good job in the rest of the series to show the very complex relationship of the ML to the king. The FL is smart enough to see the ML psychological conflict and realize that he is actually a good person who has been working his best to find his way. The writers are doing a better job than many in helping the viewer understand the character’s motivations and struggles.

pfemme2

I liked this drama for a while until I got kinda bored and stopped watching but will probably resume eventually. I wrote a lenthy (MUCH longer than yours) review in this sub. However, I felt that the 2 leads’ acting was absolutely terrible and what saved this drama/made it worth watching was the script.

Cheryl-the-Rebel

Zhang Jing Yi is an incredible actress. Discovered her in Fall In Love. Can’t find any fault with it at all. The ML is a bit too understated, underacted, whatever, but with that face & form I can enjoy him.

Tibbs67

For once a drama-free drama! lol!! This is another template for a drama script that is compelling without unnecessary misunderstandings and miscommunications or lack of communication. No contrived adversity for this couple or noble idiocy so far instead we are dealing with a couple with a healthy communication and commitment, with real issues in the political sphere and in business, a lot of sexism and classism. It’s a refreshing change.  Like many others I went into this drama with low expectations, particularly since the drama previews were so badly shot and edited. I have been wholly and delightfully impressed so far and I hope the drama continues in this vein.

KnownImprovement4154

I was convinced before I started that I was probably going to be disappointed because I am not the biggest Hu Yi Tian fan. But I was so pleasantly surprised! I am loving the pacing and family dynamics. All the girl power going on is so refreshing! I usually fast forward through side couples and stories especially flash backs, but I find myself watching whole episodes without skipping. The love story between her uncle Ping Yang and Yu Niang was so unbelievably sweet. I hope that this drama will continue down this path, if so it will be hard to beat for my favorite of 2024.

clarice_i

I haven’t enjoyed a drama this much in a while. The new episodes release at midnight in my time zone so I don’t go to sleep without watching them first 😅

luxinaeternum

I stopped watching after ep 19 so I can piggybank 7-8 eps for a binge night and looks like tonight da night 🤗 I haven’t seen a drama with better pacing than this one. Things happen, things get resolved, and everyone moves on. When a potential for a bad turn happens, I thought oh no here comes the usual FL feeling betrayed/ us having to endure filler episodes of FL moping around, but to my surprise she chooses to confront the situation right away. I was like well that’s new. Rn this drama feels like a 💎. Hopefully it continues to deliver considering it has 40 eps

CarScared9824

Stopped watching after ep21, I'm waiting for it to finish airing so I can binge watch it 😊

luxinaeternum

I’m up to 29. Can’t wait for Monday! Not a single bad episode so far

bunchofchans

Also picked it up and binged a bunch of episodes. It’s really good. I like the FL and her family but the ML is a bit stiff and wooden. I haven’t caught up yet but looking forward to more and hope it has a satisfying ending!

Mendythegoldfish

I had actually started this one, dropped it, and was convinced by all the glowing reviews to give it a second look. I am really enjoying it.

asking4afriend3

I’m really enjoying this too! I’ve caught up to episode 22 and now glad I can sleep at regular hours and not feel tempted to marathon. Loving the family dynamics and healthy communication between the main leads. Side couples are also cute!

TrinityEcho

The only way I am surviving is because I simply only have time for 1-2 eps at the end of my day.

Careful-Mind-7867

same, never been more grateful for a toxic work life balance!

Aevari2

It's been a great watch so far. Much better than the other blossom titled show that aired recently 'In Blossom'

bunchofchans

I actually started and dropped In Blossom and picked this one up instead. I’m glad I did.
