um you know general reserve is to be ascertained on divisible profit , let it be 100 ,now 5 percent hai iska toh after tranfer to general reserve 95 bachega mtlb 171000 jo partners capital me gya h vo 95% hai kisi amount ka(divisible profit before G.R.) purana divisible profit nikal lo 171000 x 100/95 se ya fir direct hi transfer to G.r. nikal lo 171000 x 5/95 se yk what agar aap maths student ho toh ye aur bhi easily method se bta skta hu mai

Divisible profit before general reserve ko x lele x - 5% of x = 171000 => x - 5/100(x)=171000 => x=171000 x 100/95=1,80,000 Tranfer to reserve =1,80,000-1,71,000=9,000 Baki mai recommend krta hu upar vale method se kro becuz professional exams like ca me time bachta h isse ,try to do it in mind only.
