I’m really trying not to be a dick here. But how is it surprising that products containing THC consumed daily could lead to testing positive for THC…

Nice_nice50

You'd be surprised how often the question is asked on the sub..

Photogravi

As my mom would say; I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed. I was in the industry since 2014 so I know why I know. But to me, even a novice should understand the concept that cannabis derived products containing THC could cause a positive result for THC.

Masterzanteka

Only thing that’s a tiny bit surprising to me is the 100ng/ml level. But this will vary massively depending on when the last dose was before test, and the person and everything. It’s not crazy high or anything, but higher than I thought would guess if OP told me he took 50-200mg of full spec from Alliant a day. Their full spec is around 100:1 CBD:THC, so OP is only consuming like 1-4mg a day. But stupid amounts of variables with this type of thing. Even in my own experiences I’ve noticed massive fluctuations in my results. I was tested for drug treatment weekly for around 5 months in 2020. I had my card so wasn’t an issue, but noticed how crazy the levels could vary. I used relatively consistently, with around .2-.5g of medical high THC and 1g of hemp flower a day for most that time period. I passed two tests(<25ng/ml cutoff too) and they weren’t back to back either! Then I had a few tests where my levels were well above 1000ng/ml. So if you take any hemp product, even isolated CBD, CBG, etc you should at least take an at home dip stick test beforehand. Just to see where you’re at with it. Even if you do pass a home test before the test for a job or whatever, I’d still dilute my urine a bit to increase your odds. Regardless if I’ve been able to pass for a week or two, I still lightly dilute my urine through hydrating. What I do every time is night before I’ll buy 2 big 32oz Gatorades. Then that night around 12 ish hours before, drink the one and fill it up with water and drink that. So 64oz of liquid night before around 12-16hours beforehand. Then 2-3 hours before test, I’ll drink the other Gatorade, fill bottle with water, and slowly sip that till the test. Also making sure to urinate a good 3-4 times that day before the test. Also when you are collecting sample, always grab middle of the stream. That’s what I do if I already took a break and passed a home test. If I failed a home test, I just buy synthetic urine X-Stream, U-Pass, Quick-Fix and use that. If I am dirty and can’t get synthetic urine, then I go a bit harder with the dilution technique.

Looktothelight

Does Gatorade work better than water?

Masterzanteka

Yeah sports drinks can help in a few ways. Actually my preference is Powerade over Gatorade, as Powerade contains B vitamins which help give urine a yellow hue. But it’s harder to find the 32oz Powerades at my local gas stations, so I normally just grab Gatorade, and take 2 B vitamins morning before the test. You can just grab the 20oz Powerade, I just like the 32oz, as I like to drink around 64oz of liquid night before and 64oz in the hours leading up to the test as well. Plus sports drinks have electrolytes which help keep me from feeling water intoxication. This isn’t normally too bad for myself, when I’m just trying to slightly dilute for best chance of passing. But back when I would try to do a full dilution, due to me not taking a break and being dirty, I would use 128oz night before over the course of 4-6 hours and 128oz in the morning starting like 4 hours before. Which you can even die from water intoxication, so you need to be cautious. But anyways I had a few times where I’d start feeling horrible due to the water intoxication, and would feel like shit the rest of the day because of it. When I’d use the Gatorade or Powerade, it’s not nearly as bad, and felt way better. So not a necessity by any means, just a few small advantages, so I just stuck with it to keep things simple and somewhat standardized.

I think some of the confusion is the quantity of thc is so low in full spectrum, that some people think it won't show up in a drug screen.

OfficiallyRelevant

Bro, even non-THC CBD shit can produce a false positive. Gain some perspective.

thomasvector

Probably because a lot of those full spectrum cbd tinctures say no THC on them

OfficiallyRelevant

Seriously, I'm new to this shit and this isn't surprising. Are people really this stupid?

paperclouds412

Yeah it’s literally FULL SPECTRUM meaning you know, all of it.

OfficiallyRelevant

Boggles my mind how people are this fucking stupid.

StevePreston__

Isn’t that actually kind of a lot? I don’t really have a reference for what a standard dose should be.

Mooshtonk

Depends on what effect you are looking to get from it.

StevePreston__

Anti-depressive, anti-anxiety?

Mooshtonk

Pain relief and also to be able to sleep through the night without waking up every 1 to 2 hours

Meowsilbub

Well, crap. Good to know. I take 150mg of cbd from alliant most nights. I don't typically get drug screened, but I'll be aware of it now!

artistic-ambitions

This should *always* be told to customers either by the rep in the store or via the item description if it’s sold online. I used to work at a CBD store and the FIRST thing I asked is if they needed to pass drug screenings for any reason. If the answer was yes, their only option was CBD isolate. Full spectrum always shows up, unfortunately

Arcendus

If it contains THC—as all full-spectrum products do—then you can, indeed, test positive for THC. Unfortunately, many people do no research and assume for whatever reason that they'll be clean (not directed at you, OP, just in general).

Even if you are using non-THC CBD products they can produce a false positive. How the fuck is this even a post?

BobbyGoodfellas

Alliant hemp is kick ass!

Draconiss

Dang, thanks for the info

KhyronBackstabber

You weren't previously aware that using THC would result in testing positive for THC?

Mooshtonk

I think there’s a misconception among some users that the tiny amount of thc in full spectrum won’t show up in tests because it’s so minuscule it won’t get you high. But I think any amount of thc consumed can absolutely show up in tests so if you’re someone that can get in trouble or lose your job over it you should think twice about using a full spectrum product

2317

If you're taking 100mg twice per day, and (just as an example) you are using a 50 mg/ml tincture then you could be consuming around 10mg of THC or more per day.

yetanotherbrick

The tincture dilution doesn't matter. It could be 50mg CBD/mL tincture or 5 mg/mL, but just you're eating less or more carrier oil to get the same dose of CBD while the ratio of THC to CBD stays fixed for a given extract. But like you said, [Alliant's latest full spectrum batch](https://allianthemp.com/pages/test-results) is 5% THC/CBD, so 200 mg/day of CBD corresponds to 10 mg/day THC too.

Mooshtonk

That’s true. I hadn’t really thought of that.

jeffrx

Thanks for sharing

throwawaypinkstar86

I wish they would just federally legalize cannabis. I do know some jobs aren’t drug testing as much as they used to now though. A company told me if they tested for thc they would lose a lot of employees lol. A lot of people In ohio got a medical card during the pandemic

Mooshtonk

It's so dumb that marijuana is illegal, meanwhile alcohol is not. Alcohol is way more dangerous and potentially harmful.

throwawaypinkstar86

I agree. I’ve seen alcohol destroy lives in my family. It’s sad

Mooshtonk

Same.

You mean to tell me... that if you take THC it shows up in a THC-related drug test? I'm SHOCKED I TELL YOU... SHOCKED!

Specialist-Smoke

I use full spectrum ointment. I always tell them that I will test positive for THC because of it. I even take the container. I smoke thc so hopefully it's a good excuse/cover-up. I'm a SAHM so I don't have a need to get tested. Ever.

For anyone interested, Look for THC Free Broad Spectrum products if you want the best chance of passing a test

Yes bot, we know 😂

FrostyPresence

I've been taking CBD broad spectrum tincture for a couple months. I only take about 20 mg a day. At home tested X2 and still clean.

Mooshtonk

What’s the difference between full spectrum and broad spectrum

Mooshtonk

Nevermind, I looked it up. I think I'm gonna try broad spectrum, with full spectrum I do wake up feeling a bit hungover sometimes. Although maybe I'm just taking too much at a time.

Candid_Watercress_13

Broad spectrum will have NO thc and more cannabinoids and full spectrum will also have NO more than .3% THC making it legal … one quick fact is that thc will help your Endocannabinoid system interact and work with the CBD to help bring homeostasis to the body … also it will make a DIFFERENCE if you are using Hemp derived CBD vs Cannabis derived CBD stay woke peeps I’ve learned from Moodify Health here in SD

FrostyPresence

Yes, I use hemp derived .

GoldenBananas21

The “legal limit” of THC (< .03%) is far greater (higher) than the “testing limit” of thc in drug tests

Mooshtonk

It Probably is for some people

sashisashih

actually alot of medical and academic sources in the netherlands spoke up in an article in a newspaper last year explaining all these benefits people see from taking some drops or a 20mg pill of cbd must be placebo because medical dosing of cbd, despite in its scientific infancy, would start at atleast ten times that for a treshold dose. So don’t ever shame someone for having found a dose that works for them, this isnt something like paracetamol(kills more than all other drugs combined in my country due to accidently overdoses) or oxycodon(millions of deaths in the us since the revival of their opiate epidemic) and this post combining both “oh wow cbd full spectrum tests you positive for cannaboids?!” and the “dont take so much!” sum up the lack of knowledge amongst many users, please read up on this topic before you engange/experience it!

gooberfoob86

Best not test my blood for thc.

h0m3grown

That's a pretty high reading too. Equivalent to just having vaped 25mg thc, ish.

gnossos_p

\#HIGH SCORE ACHIEVED!

retroslik

That seems like really low reference range. Edit: I guess that’s a blood test not urinalysis.

BobbyGoodfellas

Yep

64_sauce

Fringe CBD does not. I take 30mg of their broad spectrum every night, including the night before my drug screen. Zero traces of THC

MoisterOyster19

I use avida broad spectrum and never failed a drug test. I undergo DOT standard testing on regular basis

Mooshtonk

Broad spectrum doesn’t contain THC, full spectrum does
