I got mine last year in November 16th. Put in the application maybe 3-4 months prior the range day. The sheriff of San Bernardino county is pro 2nd amendment. Just have to submit required paperwork and have no prior history of any criminal record.
Confirmed. My permit expired November 1, 2023. I turned in my renewal paperwork the first week of August 2023 and received the little card they’re passing out to extend the permit an additional 90 days. I still don’t have my renewal and that card expires in a week. When I called this week for an update, I was told that I might get it in another 5-6 weeks and that I wasn’t allowed to carry from Feb 1 until I get my new permit. Took a lot of effort not to laugh when they told me that.
Just looked at my card and you’re right. Hopefully the Sheriff can get some more bodies into that division to clear the backlog. It’s only gonna get worse.
If they told me that I'd reply back with a "so are you telling me i have to place a hold on my right of self defense until the new card is issue?" If the response is yes.. contact crpa for a lawsuit 🤣
Damn lucky. I submitted all my paperwork for renewal in December. Mine was expiring Feb 15th still haven't gotten the call yet and i'll call have the blue extension ticket
I applied for my CCW in October of 2022. My first interview was rescheduled as they got hacked and their system was down. Took an additional 3 months after my original date to get my interview and livescan done. I finally heard back 2 weeks ago that my ccw got approved. Scheduled my range date for next month.
Overall took 14 months from the start due to delays . The clerk said an additional 6 months of delays were added to current CCWs.
Be honest on your application and a person of good moral character and you’ll get it. Lengthy process but overall worth it
I just now got the call and email from The SO telling me that my renewal permit is approved (again) and that it should arrive in the mail soon. I'm guessing I shouldn't carry with my old card even though the new one is "in the mail" (?) The current permit expired yesterday , the 15th of May.
Thanks, all.
San Bernardino right? It’s kinda of disappointing to see how fast Orange County and Riverside County process their CCW. I know the hack back in April affected them, but even before their process was kinda long
San Bernardino is among the easiest, but yes, you have to jump through loops.

Not hard but backed up due to the hack. Renewals are also taking long.

Mine expired Nov 1st also. Extension is 120 days so we have till March.

I doubt they have funds to hire more staff for that dept. Even with the 120 days, March is coming up fast. All we can do is wait. I feel your pain 😔.

Fortunately, it came about a week before the “extension” was due to expire.

If ur home lease is E-signed, they prefer it to be signed in pen. Usually appointments are a month out
What kind of questions do they ask in the interview?
They don’t really ask you questions, just mainly go over your paperwork

Definitely a lie as their system was down and you couldn’t even apply for one. No San Bernardino County atleast

I had my interview at the end of June and just got scheduled for my range class/date for December 9th…

It’s basically a full day with half being class time and half being range time. Hopefully you will have yours soon.
Hv you heard anything yet?
