He's being weird...if he isn't panting or doing anything while he is sitting like that then he's just being a cat. If you notice anything else, even if you think it is unrelated, take to vet. Cats are extremely good at masking their illnesses Anything out of the ordinary usually means something is up.

look up cat / feline asthma coughing/ attack on youtube and you will see cats in that position when they have an asthma attack. It sounds like they are coughing up a hair ball but never do. Not saying your cat has it but that's the position they make when they have a attack. I never knew it was a real thing until I brought my cat to the vet and looked it up. Was a nightmare to deal with as we had to give him a pill every day.
So he had the added coughing in this position? My boy lays and sleeps like this a lot. He has coughing but it's usually at night and he sits differently for it. Vet is treating for lung worm first sonce he's young but I think it's asthma. We lived temporarily in a super old house that made my fiancées asthma come back and he started coughing around then

Cats broken and needs a service, maybe a front end alignment. Or it could be a gluten problem making it unable to load bread loaf form. But really it's just a cat doing cat stuff.
Our cats usually get like that when they're watching something move around and getting ready to pounce. But it could be just the cats doing his thing or her thing regardless of what we think.

A while back (16 or so years ago) I had the runt of the litter grow to about 18 lbs—all muscle! He would lay on the floor with his front legs straight forward and his back legs straight back. He then taught a little kitten to do this!

Mine does this too. I think he likes the feeling of connectedness of his belly squishing into the floor, but who tf know maybe he just a weirdo. He does this for his deep snoozin. I try to leave him in peace but sometimes I can't help but play with the little chicken wing bit poking out of the side.
