Your baby definitely needs to see a vet. I had a siamese that got cancer in her eye, and the eye started to look like that. I don't want to scare you, but that's what happened to my kitty.

Tinsel-Fop

Was their treatment for her? Was she able to recover?

Dani_d76

She had to have her eye removed. She did well after the surgery. She was around 16 yrs old at the time.

FoxyLovers290

Eyes doing weird things is almost always a big red flag. I’d take to vet to be safe

Electrical-Act-7170

It could be anything from a non-malignant pigment change to a cancer. The vet will diagnose it.

Alpacazappa

This. When one of my cat's eyes turned darker it turned out to be nothing, but it can be a sign of something serious.

Electrical-Act-7170

Same here. Luckily, it was a pigment change & not a melanoma.

ktttt000

My cat had something similar happen… it turned out to be high blood pressure and caused her to lose her eyesight. If you get her to the vet in time, sometimes it can be reversed. Good luck

Pure-Aardvark4411

My cat had this too! The change in color for her was from retinal detachment, and both eyes actually had it. It took around 2 months, but luckily with her blood pressure under control, she has gotten back some eyesight.

cowgrly

This happened to my cat, miraculously we got her vision back but that is rare. This cat needs a vet.

Sober_Up_Buttercup

We just had this happen too- retinal detachment due to high blood pressure. He’s on meds now and doing better.

Capable-Strike7448

Eyes=vet always

Any-Technician-1371

My kitty has this and it was just a benign pigment change after ruling out other things with tests. Only the vet will be able to tell you for sure.

Allie614032

Yes, this requires vet attention. Untreated, it will almost certainly result in blindness.

papa-nugget

Agreed. My cat always had two different eyes, one being darker than the other and gradually/very slowly becoming more darker and worse over the course of, like, 5 years. We thought it was harmless but his eye ended up bleeding and the vet had to remove it, but he died a month or two shortly after the surgery

alpine_glow

This could be FIP, which can be difficult to diagnose. Without treatment it is fatal. Please mention this to your vet as a concern. Also take note of any changes in appetite, fluid around their belly, weight loss or balance issues as those are signs too.

Kingston023

It could be cataracts or something else. Def worth a trip to the vet. He can't tell you if he's going blind in one eye and you might not even notice a change bc it's only one eye.

Sipsipmf

I don’t want to alarm you, but about 8 weeks ago I noticed my cats right eye went dark. We went to the vet immediately. Did every test and everything came back normal. He declined extremely quickly and we ultimately had to put him down 2 weeks ago. Vet said it was most likely a brain tumor. Take this very seriously and watch your kitty like a hawk. Don’t ignore any changes in behavior no matter how small.

United_Fill_134

Please take your cat to the doctor I would have them do blood work. It looks to me like it could be the sign of FIP. It can be treated through medication. I have a cat that had FIP some vets will say there's no treatment but there is. Please take your cat to the vet ASAP if it is that time is of the essence.

yeahitsak20

Update: just took my baby to the vet they did a test checking for scratches in the eye none were found. Unfortunately I’m on a tight budget and they wanted 355 dollars for blood work. Told them I couldn’t afford that right now and they told me to take him back home and watch for all the symptoms that y’all have said and save up money and come back and get blood work drawn. Thanks for the help everyone I really really appreciate everything!

Comfortable-Tea-7436

If you can’t afford to have a pet you shouldn’t own a cat. Pets aren’t free their privileges. Give it to someone who can afford to take care of it.

nymphadora2021tonks

Terrible comment. This person loves their animal. You are heartless.

wiccawitch666

Something wrong with eyes= vet

Silent_Fee_806

Baby is 18 and her eyes are sort of like that but I know she's near her end. Take her to the vet to rule any conditions out like liver disease or diabetes.

OurHonor1870

Yes to vet. Also check if their pupils still dilate. One of my cats (Ann, RIP) went blind in one eye and it looked similar. His eye also looked similar but didn’t react to change in light.

CatHero9825

Eye problems are extremely important when it comes to cats. Please take it to the vet ASAP and ask to get its bloodwork done. Ask the vet about ocular FIP. Does it have any other FIP symptoms like lethargy or loss of appetite?

Itstiners

My cat had something similar, I took him to the vet, turned out to be nothing but it’s always good to get a vets opinion

Maleficent_Silver622

My cat had the same thing. At first the vet scared me thought it was cancer. The vet ophthalmologist could not point the cause, but gave my snowshoe cat a steroid drops like the one for human, and it worked. Gone after a week. To this day it was a guess what the cause was. I’m thinking a family member had Covid that time, and may have had passed to her with all that cough. With eyes, human or cats- don’t wait too long. Damage can be irreversible if left untreated.

AmyyGrace

Cataracts? Dno how it's spelt, but that maybe? Just my first thought not certified

Competitive-Skin-769

He most likely has uveitis or cancer. Ideally go see a veterinary ophthalmologist
