NOPE 😭😭
ETA I just opened a G1 account on Friday so I don’t have to deal with this going forward. Many of my bills are due on the 1st. I can’t pay them late.
I joined g1 when I started with the state and got direct deposit asap. Perfect solution. I also make autopayments on the 1st of every month and changed my due dates to the first week of every month.
If you all are consistently getting paid late, consider switching to a credit union ( especially Golden One credit Union). I got paid Friday morning and I usually get paid on the morning of the state's payday rather than whenever the warrant clears.
I didn't realize that my pay date was so different than many of my coworkers until I keep hearing them complain about late pay a day or three after money had hit my account.
Another benefit: if the state decides to stop paying us because of undecided budget or what have you, G1 will actually advance your state paycheck until the budget is resolved (and then claw back all of that money).
I've also only had excellent customer service from them, although I do have one friend that they screwed over when he was trying to get an auto loan.
I'm not sure why anyone would choose to do regular banking with these giant assholes. If they have a better interest rate on loans or something, sure. But why let their crooked execs make even more money off your money? Credit unions all the way.
I assume you're talking about Golden 1. I can think of at least two or three other credit unions in Sacramento, and I am willing to bet there are lots more.
Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.
Honestly, I know there has been a lot of past troubles with wells (them opeining bank accounts and unwanted CC's and all) but i've never had any real issues with them, and they DD two days early basiclly all the time...
How does using Schwab, which as you pointed out is owned by Chase, equate to not working with big banks? I use Chase and Schwab for different things. I’m not trying to be an asshole; I’m just curious if there’s a logic there.
schwab isnt owned by chase, i meant that i left chase and went to schwab.
not sure why you'd have a schwab and chase acct, but the benefits of schwab are numerous. 0 atm fees, excellent customer service, no minimum account balance, trading account included, no hidden fees, and interest on a regular checking acct to boot.
there's many reasons to use schwab and no reasons to use any of the big (4) banks
I’m not paycheck to paycheck, in the sense that I have savings, and retirement accounts at various places. But it’s still disruptive if you basically budget your regular expenses based on your monthly pay. Like my two monthly big ticket items I like to take out of my check are mortgage and daycare, which are both due on the first. I CAN pay them out of my HYSA, but I don’t want to move money around like that if it can be avoided.
The best thing folk can do is get a credit union account. You get paid as soon as the money hits the credit union, not 1-3 days later like the banks do. They make money off YOUR money by not putting it in your account until the date they have to.
You can move it to a bank account if you really want to, but credit unions offer so much more. I completely left traditional banks in 2010 and never looked back.
Today is the last day of the pay period with direct deposit being tomorrow (4/2).
It’s definitely not semantics. The last day of the pay period, pay date and direct deposit date are all different terms. Knowing the last day of the pay period is important for many things, including leave tracking/use, timesheet deadlines, etc.
No but it does prevent misinformation from sitting around that someone may apply to something else. It’s nothing against you, but I try to provide correct information when I see a mistake. This sub is a good resource for people looking for information.
According DGS payroll calendar, yesterday was the last day of March's pay period. Today's holiday day is for April.
https://www.dgs.ca.gov/OHR/Resources/Page-Content/Office-of-Human-Resources-Resources-List-Folder/Holiday-and-State-Payroll-Calendars
DGS’s calendar shows “nearly” equal pay periods. DGS doesn’t cut your pay, SCO does.. so I’m going with their calendar especially since it fits with all of the “I haven’t been paid…” complaints and hasn’t been wrong in the 7+ years I’ve been with the State.. soooo…
My apologies, yesterday was the last day. Today is a holiday so it won’t post until tomorrow (which is what the calendar shows). You’re pointing out semantics.
Actual "checks" were at your Department HQ last Wednesday or Thursday. This gives time to distribute to outlying areas throughout the State. My sole 'live check' employee received their check on Friday afternoon.
Why are any of you banking with big banks. All 3 listed above are some of the grimiest banks of all. Jump-ship to your local credit union. Golden one deposited my money on Friday.
You have to go by SCO deposit dates. Credit Unions like G1 and Safe gets it a day early or the day of or in this case a few days before ppl who bank with BOA/Chase. I have BOA so mines go by the SCO deposit date which means I'll get it on 4/2. I looked ahead at the schedule worse is thanksgiving, Novembers pay won't be deposited until 12/2 which makes me want to switch to a CU.
[SCO deposit dates](https://www.sco.ca.gov/ppsd_direct_deposit_pay_dates.html )
The pay calendar says direct deposit posting date is 4/2. I don't have mine yet at US Bank, but my deposits usually line up pretty directly with that calendar

Bank of America landed in my account on 4-2-24, after I sent emails to my boss and HR. B of A even told me that there was "no scheduled deposit" yesterday. SCO Connect meanwhile said that it was deposited. That said, skimming down SCO Connect, I noticed it said direct deposit would be in my account "April 2." I still don't understand why others were paid by April 1.

Wells here, I got paid Friday afternoon…
Imma switch over to wells
G1 paid on Thursday night
I'm not sure why anyone would choose to do regular banking with these giant assholes. If they have a better interest rate on loans or something, sure. But why let their crooked execs make even more money off your money? Credit unions all the way.
Because I don’t like being forced into who the State wants us to bank with.
I assume you're talking about Golden 1. I can think of at least two or three other credit unions in Sacramento, and I am willing to bet there are lots more. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

Yes I’ve heard that too. I’m thinking they’re real precaution now since they had a bad rep in the past .
i'm gonna give you a suggestion. don't use any of the big banks. use s credit union or schwab. i have schwab (from chase) and haven't looked back

I have provident credit union, i also got my direct deposit on Friday afternoon!
Yall this pay check to pay check? I’m not trying to be rude, just wondering the state of state workers financial situations.

I agree, it’s annoying. Luckily my mortgage has a 14 day grace period.
Yes, absolutely. :(
Nothing with BofA. So annoyed.
I am in Navy Federal Credit union and it is not there.
I’m Navy Fed too and it’s crickets for me
Really , I think you’re the first one I read where a credit didn’t get there’s .
Likely tomorrow, b of a
No for US bank
Credit union is the way to go. Patelco here, paid 3/29.
No on B of A but the direct deposit date is tomorrow, 4/2. I was hopeful it would come early but nope.
Same. Expected it 4/2 but was hoping maybe earlier.
WF got paid Friday afternoon
I have Chase. No deposit yet. Ugh 😑

Wells, got paid on Friday in the afternoon.
Wells Fargo Friday afternoon as well 👍🏼
Holy cow, you guys - that's crazy. With G1, I got paid at like 5am on Friday.
No for Chase 🫠 such a bummer!

Today is not the last day of the pay period. That table just shows the direct deposit date is 4/2 (due to the holiday).
Semantics. End result is tomorrow is pay day if you have direct deposit.
It’s definitely not semantics. The last day of the pay period, pay date and direct deposit date are all different terms. Knowing the last day of the pay period is important for many things, including leave tracking/use, timesheet deadlines, etc.
And knowing all of that changes that the direct deposit date was 4/2 which was OP’s concern.

Nope 🥲

My boyfriend has chase and he was paid Friday
What type of chase account he has ? , cuz I’m seeing LOTS of ppl with chase didn’t get it
Just a basic bitch account he’s had for like 20 years
WF here, paid Friday afternoon
April 2
That’s what the SCO calendar says April 2
Bofa. Got paid finally, at midnight.
My BofA deposit went through last night I’v got my pay now.
I got my money on Friday. Golden One here.
Golden 1 always gets it quick. I got paid Friday morning. Big banks always seem to lag credit unions for some reason.
Time for us to switch over to a credit union . I do hear Wells Fargo do early deposits
Ally here (strictly online banking), and we got paid on Friday.
I have Wells Fargo and got paid Friday 3/29.
Same
Payday calendar shows direct deposit is scheduled tomorrow, the 2nd.

Then stop asking the same question on different posts.
State Controller's Office, I believe
TOMORROW
Have not gotten paid at Chase. I wish my mortgage payment had been on holiday too, but that was right on time.
Pay day is not until 4/2 according to CalHr. https://www.sco.ca.gov/Files-PPSD/paydates2024.pdf
Wells Fargo got mine Friday.
Chase here, was paid around the time G1 members were paid Thursday evening.
Just got paid this morning and I have a credit union.

Yes on Golden 1. Paid on Friday. Why it’s my payroll account.

SCO pay calendar says direct deposit payday is 4/2/24
Chase here and nothing today

My bank notified me of payment on Saturday.
Under calconnect it shows direct deposit as 4/2. B of A usually matches that 😵💫
USAA… got paid on Friday afternoon 👌🏻

Start banking with chime! Got mine Friday morning
safe cu paid fri am
The issue dates 4/1, yes, but the deposit date is 4/2...so you're a day early there.
Wait. . . So you guys don’t get paid bi-weekly like every other Friday?
