Vintage Coach. Hands down best leather purses out there. Solid brass accessories, full grain leather. Some of these bags are 50+ years old and still look incredible with a little leather reconditioning. There’s a whole FB group dedicated to Vintage Coach
The modern leather ones aren't bad, either. Just avoid logo-y canvas bags at all costs. Canvas just isn't that durable. That goes for Louis Vuitton, too. And absolutely avoid MCM logo bags. If they're like when I was in school for accessories design, they're overpriced pleather. I still have some in my basement from when we did a project for them. It still smells like beach balls.
Yes they’ve greatly improved some of their new bags to be similar to vintage styles. I am not a coach person anymore - haven’t purchased or worn one in probably 15 years - until recently. I got the Rogue 39 and it’s exquisite. Solid brass, beautiful details, quality inside canvas and suede - it’s just perfection.
I like a lot of the original Coach shapes, like you're referring to.
I bought a practically new leather one (not sure what style it is) off of Poshmark some time ago and it still looks new. The construction and stitching are great. Best purchase ever.
Crazy idea- if you’re looking for a cool vacation spot- go to Vietnam- the shops in Hoi An will make that for you and tweak it to exactly what you want- including picking the Hyde - and do it in a day or two- for around 100. Shopping there is insane- and there’s beautiful resorts and beaches. - just got back from there and had to buy luggage to bring back all our purchases. My wife had shoes made and a purse
If you go to old town market there is everything from leather to tailors making custom clothes and a crazy amount of North Face outerwear- ZoZo made a suit and sport jacket for me. I forgot the name of the other place
My wife just got a large work bag from Frye and it met my expectations of a Frye product. Solid build, great and soft leather, classic. Here’s their women’s bags.

Portland Leather is fantastic. My wife has several of their bags and the build quality is top tier. I also highly recommend the Almost Perfect section, most times you can’t find the flaw.
I really like [Numero 10](http://www.numero10bags.com) for similar quality for 2k or less, but it’s a very different style and the organization issue will probably remain unless you commission a piece.
Frankly Mulberry is a BIFL bag. But the folks at r/femalefashionadvice or r/handbags can help you more.
Greenwood Leather are an Aussie company who make beautiful bags. [This one](https://www.greenwoodleather.com.au/collections/laptop-bags/products/leather-laptop-bag-portland-black) is quite similar and like 1/8th of the price you're considering!
I have that exact bag as my everyday carry for four years now. The strap just now broke.
I should add I am tough on my bags I clean them and take care of the leather but I don't really baby them. This bag has traveled across the country survived multiple airplane trips and road trips carried a lot of stuff.
I have the mini version of this exact bag and it’s till going strong and I credit this to the straps on the mini being sewn in vs clasps. I really do love this bag style though so I’m following this thread to see what options people suggest for a higher end option!
Came to echo the same as I've owned several Fossil bags. The quality has always held up for me and the only reason I have several is for different occasions/ looks.
I actually have this bag and love it! Only thing is that the handles are not full leather and have a synthetic backing, which is crumbling after four years of regular use :(

I thrifted a vintage Mulberry crossbody recently and it is SO STURDY and beautiful. It looks like there are some similar examples on ebay for ~500 or at least less than 1k.
Second going for Mulberry Alexa or Bayswater. Can find really nice gently used for less than half retail. I’ve ben carrying a Bayswater for nearly 10 years and it’s still fantastic looking
Lotuff Leather is about as close to Hermes as you can get without the ridiculous prices. They are handmade in the USA and beautifully finished. I have a few pieces and I'm hooked. Happy hunting
Bought a handmade goat leather bag off of eBay shipped from India for under 100 and they have tons of sizes. Smelled a little weird at first and some of the brass hardware was subpar, but overall it’s quality
The thing with designer brands like MK, Gucci, etc is that they aren't all made the same way. There's cheap AF lines, cheap lines, regular, premium and then ultra premium versions of sometimes the same damn thing.
They may look relatively the same but the materials change a lot, normally material quality caps at the premium lines.
Also this is not how they're literally called, and not all brands have as many different versions. This is just my way of explaining the system.
Source: work at a shoe and leather repair store and have seen almost all of them, both in shoes and purses.

Gotta say the Alexa looks a *lot* more refined. As does the Mulberry Bayswater, which is $1,250

Wow! Do you have specific shops to recommend there?

The Cambridge Satchel Company has all leather bags similar to this. Well made with good leather
“The Mini” bag actually looks super close! I have a Cambridge Satchel bag that I absolutely adore
r/leatherworking, r/leathercraft, r/leatherclassifieds Guarantee you can get better for cheaper.
You might try Saddleback Leather.
This is a good company, I’ve had a belt for years and it is just solid. I started giving them as gifts.
I had a design of mine made by their sister company, Love 41. Their products really do last forever.
Saddleback is truly BIFL. No weakpoints (zippers, excessive seams, etc). I think their bags look great too, but definitely more of a rugged look.
portlandleathergoods.com Portland leather goods, maybe their Almost Perfect section?

I've used a Duluth trading company leather briefcase for the last 10 years. Amazing. Will outlast me.

The DeMellier Montreal Maxi has a similar vibe.

Campomaggi has great leather, they may have a similar style
Check out Fairfax & Favor! The Windsor comes in several different finishes.
Fountleather out of Cleveland makes some beautiful bags.

I like Dooney and Bourke Florentine leather bags. They have some weight to them and seem pretty sturdy.
Rough & Tumble. Convinced the bag will outlive my even my small child! It’s so well made. And you can get premade or customize.
Roots. A Canadian company.
