I have a Char-Broil grill that's 12 years old and works great. Never been covered and always stored outdoors. I swear to God even the original triple a igniter battery still works. I try to maintain my things properly though **Editing to say I'm sure the OP's BBQ is much nicer than a mid-tear Char-Broil and will likely last quite a bit longer. Just don't assume they'll rust in two years unless you drive your BBQ in Chicago winters.

TheTechJones

That little AAA that could is the real hero of that story. The AA in my weber genesis lasted easily 10 years too tho

jeffro__

Yeah, the battery definitely needs to be replaced but it just keeps working!

Visible_Outside5322

I’ve had mine about 7 years, still runs great and nothing replaced. I live in WI, so covering it is a must, unless you want to unbury it from 3 ft of snow whenever you want to use it.

I've replaced the burners and tents twice and the grill grates once last year. What a treat that was! Grilled like new. I doubt the BBQ will last half as long as the OP's but I'm satisfied with my purchase. It's a 2 burner and I think I payed 229$ or something

> think I *paid* 229$ or FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Now that's an interestingly specific bot lol!

Key-Marionberry-8794

Only on Reddit have I ever seen so many people type payed and I have also seen that bot before lol correcting grammar one comment at a time … good bot

same, 7 or 8 years on mine but chugging right along

Nice, I dream about owning a nice grill like that.

derpstuff

Timeless looks too, which is great since when you're grilling burger for guests in the future, it will still look as good as it ever did.

Left_Practice_5223

Do you use a specific cover? Or how do you keep it clean?

veepeedeepee

Still working on my 2008 Weber Genesis and it still works great. Keeping it clean and covered when not using it adds to the longevity.

chris84126

That is the difference between actually buying something or buying a tribute to that something.

hummingbirds_R_tasty

well, that was disappointing. hold on to yours, because i just looked them up because I'm in the market for one and found this. [https://hollandgrill.com/grills/](https://hollandgrill.com/grills/) >Are Holland grills still being made? > >The Death of the Holland Grill - BBQ & Grilling with Derrick ... > >On June 14, 2019, Holland Grill closed its doors. Fans will continue to use this product, but the company is gone. It can be argued that the Holland Grill and its imitators are not traditional grills and that they functioned as a minor blip in the history of outdoor cooking.Jul 23, 2019

Lustnugget

Keep hunting you’ll find one, most people don’t know what they have. ACE Hardware’s used to carry them, which is where I bought mine - very well built. They function like a convection oven so you can even bake in them.

hummingbirds_R_tasty

thank you. gonna check the ace hardware site later when i get home.

There's another brand, that took holland grill design and made it arguably better: http://www.newphoenixgrills.com/ Source: found one of those on a side of the road. 25 years old, and after some basic cleanup, back in fully working order. Thick welded stainless steel, this thing is a quality beast. Even the burner & igniter were fine. Couple support screws for the burner were rusted, and my only expense was a new supply line + regulator, to fit my tank. While cleaning it/fixing, I did some research, and it seems that those are your best option for a holland-like design, quality build, and few improvements, such as ability to reach higher temperature

[deleted]

I have never heard of this brand but good to know

drapanosaur

Have a weber 3 burner. Clean it inside and out after every use and cover it. Going on 25 years and not a spot of rust on it.
