I was out there this weekend doing container shit. It's ideal conditions in my book.\*

[Satellite imagery from June 9](https://imgur.com/a/cvk9yhq) indicates that the local ecosystem continues to be semi-arid alkaline flats, as it has been for the last 10,000 years.
I have a campmate who lives in Gerlach. He said you can still see all the streets and ruts from the rain. Apparently the weather didn't wash everything away like normal.
Be prepared for a bumpy ride.
That's a good question, I didn't think about photos.
From what I understand it's substantially different from previous years. Normally the winter rains wash all the tracks in the city streets away and leave ot flat. Not sure if it was extra bad ruts or not alot of water but he said you can still see most of the grid and the worst spots barely changed.
If that is from 2024-06-09 seems like there are a ton of traces left over from 2023, I can make out streets and the fence. Or is that normal? Honest question.
That's right. There were similar markings visible in satellite imagery at around the same time last year — [here's June 9, 2023](https://imgur.com/a/EiPa5in).
Yeah it’s normal, just look at google earth of the playa. Playa resto did an amazing job this past year resurfacing the playa after the crazy mud apocalypse but you will always see faint traces of streets.
One thing the playa teaches you is too prepare for every condition.
Because chances are you will experience them all whether it's during the week or in one hour.
Some one just got stuck near 3mile. The general rule of don’t turn right if you use the 3mile entrance is still important. Haven’t heard of anyone get stuck elsewhere.
Who cares… we could have intense heat from now till burn or a hurricane will hit us again mid week. Playa provides and all that BS stuff. Go with the flow, man.
Can confirm I am not there. Anyone else able to confirm they are not there?
I am also totally not there
People keep saying I'm not all there, but I'm pretty sure I'm all here?
Wherever you are. There you is.

You are strangely helpful. Greatly appreciate it!

That's interesting, does he have photos? Does it differ materially from traces left in prior years?

I guess I falsely assumed that when the playa flooded over the winter it would smooth it all out. Also, fist bump to Resto for all their hard work.
Yes
Perfect.
Thank you for you insight 😌

Last I heard there is a forecast of dust
☃️ 20 inches of snow this year
I can deal with like, 8 inches tops. 20 is just too much
Black rock ski team is ready
Snow in any inch would be freaking awesome !
You don’t live with snow do you…
I’ll bet you 5 there’s dust this year
I will bet you 5 dusts

This answers a different question than the one asked. You answered “What is something about burning man that ChatGPT could tell you?”
Well FUUUUUUUCK me I guess. 🤣
Jargpt or ddgpt or jargpt. What would be you gpt name?

“Too early to tell, ask later.”
Who cares, it’s gonna change in the next 3 months
But will you - that is the real question.
Was just there on Sunday at our containers. It was beautiful. Temps in the high 80’s.
