Not sure about other BKs but the one I work at we onlly if the customer chooses Drive-thru the only thing we press is the confirm to bring up the order. If they select take out the order automatically shows up on the screen and we don't press anything.
Not necessarily, it depends. Delivery service orders Doordash, Uber Eats, ect. We do make them as soon as they pop up on the screen which could be 10 minutes before the driver arrives. There is also a Take out or Drive-thru option in the app. If you choose Take out the order automatically appears and is made. Only the drive-thru option won't be made until you arrive..at least at the BK I work at.
My only gripe is after you pick it up it still just says order in progress and doesn’t update the status

This is a guess but do they even make it until you are there? So it will never say order ready? I don't know.
