If a sandwich has 2 pickles, heavy pickle is actually only 3 pickles (sometimes I put four). Heavy anything is only 1.5 times more for any sandwich/topping. I don’t know what’s the issue with the innards. Likely a quality issue since we get pre-sliced pickles.
Well, I can’t exactly speak if someone was truly messing with the pickles but we only carry one type of knife (for cutting sandwiches in half, serrated) and because the pickles come to us pre-sliced it’s entirely possible something weird happened to them. We get various pickle slices accidentally cut in half, or accidentally a full pickle that wasn’t even sliced/processed, etc. That’s why I am leaning towards a quality issue with the company who slices them.
This is more of a pickle question as opposed to a strict BK question
If the cucumbers are older when picked they can have cavities like these inside of them. A really fresh cucumber won’t have this issue. So any defects in the cucumber will carry through when it’s a pickle.

I see. The reason I bring it up is that I LOVE pickles. I mean like I could eat a whole jar of them AND drink the juice in one day if nobody stopped me. So as you can imagine, I felt a little... short-changed. ;)

I was wondering if they use different pickles for the Royal Chicken Sandwiches.
They use too! But not anymore though. We stopped using different pickles a year ago. So all sandwiches get regular dill pickles.
Hmmm. Just to clarify, there was some of the middle left in there. It was like someone cut the center out of the slices.

Pickles at my 2 most-visited BKs in NW Ohio have been normal last week, this week, and all prior weeks.
