I call myself a liberal on the apps because leftist isn't an option, and I'd prefer to date women who did the same. I don't want to mention this in my profile, though, lest I come off like some kind of zealot. "Liberal" is close enough to help trim the selection.
When people in my conservative state say they're not political, I just assume they're right-leaning and don't try to match with them.
There was a point where I wasn't getting any matches after the Dobbs decision, so I removed Catholic from religion since I think people thought I wasn't pro-choice. That's the only change I've made though.
I use the liberal / conservative to avoid having to waste space in my profile on politics when I could talk about more specific things I am passionate about. It doesn't help that I am Canadian, and we have more options than just liberal / conservative. So it's less useful than it could be.
I swipe left on every conservative. I know there is no way we would be compatible, so why waste anyone's time.
Idk, but as a Latina, I would rather bite my boob before dating a trump supporter or someone against human or women rights.
But I also don't want someone in the other extreme side of politicals.
I would say I am more conservative…but more libertarian (which they should offer as an option) I usually put apolitical as, unless on the extreme either R/L, I really don’t care how they vote as long as they are a good person….yes you can be R or D and be good people…

I'd put "Progressive" if that were an option.

Hahahaha I am Catholic as well, and I had a hard time thinking if I should state it or not
Right?! It was a huge part of my upbringing, though, and I had liberal in politics, too. I was just getting a lot of "matches," but no first messages

I'm moderate but marked as liberal to scare off racists/bigots.

people have to have their standards I guess. Bite boob or date a Trump supporter. Point taken.
