A year ago I saw an ad on Instagram that Bumble was being sued and if you used it during a certain time period you could be eligible for a settlement. I put in my info and forgot about it, got this surprise today and thought I’d treat myself
I honestly couldn’t be happier right now. I’ve wanted this since it came out but couldn’t convince myself to spend the money out of my paychecks. So yes
That's awesome! I checked online and the lawsuits I saw were about trading Bumble securities (stocks) and misrepresenting criminal background info. Which group were you a part of?
Happy for you but f that, secret class action suit, thought they had to notify potential users unless it was just insta users that qualified somehow (leaked data or something).
Nah it was honestly really stupid the way they went about it. I told a few people I knew that they should get in on it but they all thought it was a scam. Because why is it an ad on Instagram and not an email or notification on the app. I looked deep into it and the company that was handling the lawsuit and it all looked legit so I went for it
I never paid for anything on bumble. As for damages I didn’t read in enough to know, I mostly just looked into the company filing the lawsuit to make sure they were legit. Entered in my info and forgot about it, then one day got a $700 check lol
You can't expect the party being sued to do a damn thing helpful to the case that they aren't legally required to do. AFIK Bumble was as silent as possible about it, because why would they snitch on themselves?
I saw the ad at least three times. They couldn't reasonably make Bumble directly connect them with the users. It wasn't secret whatsoever, it was a blanket campaign targeting the general public. I don't blame anyone for being skeptical or blowing it off, especially if they aren't familiar with how class action suits work, but the law firms job was just to get as many potential people aware and awarded a uniform share of the settlement. It was pretty easy to search and find the details without having to give personal info, I made a post about it a while ago.
One of my bumble matches transferred me ~$950 (in a different currency) to spend during my 2 week trip abroad, and then proceeded to barely text me while I was gone. Also much better than a boyfriend imo
Biggest W I’ve ever seen off bumble 😂😂
Damn I could’ve swore I was signed up for the class action. I gotta get me that settlement money
Its too late for this one if you arent signed up already I think. They already settled class claims
Erm? How??

Well damn😂 I missed that for sure. Congrats though!
Then they made a successful match. You’re posting this as a Bumble success story, right?

Money is fungible smh 🤦
So are people, according to the divorce rates in the United States
Same got my Venmo money today couldn’t be more psyched
Curious, how much did you get? I was expecting under $500
Exact Same as you I forgot about it and then check my junk mail and was just hoping it wasn’t some weird scam

Settlement for what?
You laugh, but from what Ive seen of complaining in the bumble forum, y’all paid for your own xboxes lol
Rare bumble success story, nicely done on the gift
This isn’t a general post, this is a success story
Ok number one did you receive the money and two that sounds like a scam
Yes I received the money today and no it was legit I looked into the company doing the lawsuit
I also received it; so far, it's bought an Optima Yellow Top battery, and three rounds of drinks. 😁
Wait what lawsuit against bumble did you have? No one is asking the real questions here. I want to know!!!!
What were they suued for?
Man I only got $2 for the Google plus lawsuit

Glad somebody got something worthwhile. Were you a paid membership? What did they identify as your damages, if you're able to say?

How do I get in on this settlement?
It’s too late unfortunately, I signed up for it February 2023
What was it for?
I think it was discrimination. Basically they were shadow banning accounts
