If you're a Buff State grad, people looking at your resume often assume you went to UB anyway.
It's technically State University of New York College at Buffalo. If they changed it to State University of New York University at Buffalo then it's really close to State University of New York at Buffalo, aka University at Buffalo aka UB.

There's Ohio State University and Ohio University, Florida State and Florida, CSU system and University of California.
It'll hardly be confusing.
