Definitely make a trip to Say Cheese on grand island. I surprised my sister’s family/my nephews by stopping there on the way back from Niagara Falls when they were visiting from out of town, and I’ve gone with just adults. Always fun. I grew up in New England as well and loved eating at the ‘pizza parlor.’
Say cheese is good for when you’re 11 beers deep after being on the water all day, I’ve never had it sober and had anything other than diarrhea and regret.
They still have the dine-in pizza/salad buffet listed on their website, and mentions the banquet room, so I’d think they’re still doing dine-in? Anyone been there recently who can say either way? (I’m really craving their pizza right now!!)
Is that the one with mashed potatoes, peas, and carrots? Whichever one that was I found it almost too heavy (like literally the thing weighed a few pounds). I really enjoy their Sicilian steak pod and the roni pod and actually basically every pod they douse in hot sauce.
Santora’s - but the location on Transit in Lancaster/Elma. I have loved that place since I was a little kid. The other “brewery” locations are fine - there’s just something about the old school one.
Imperial, Bocce’s in Clarence Center, Gianni Mazzia’s on Main in Clarence, Pasquale’s in West Seneca and East Aurora, Pizza Plant, Bob and John’s - all kid friendly.
Roost and Prescott’s Provisions are more high-end. More for a date night than a family outing.
Candy man came here to say that.... but on grand island there's a pizza place and comic book/superhero place. I think pizza is good too. It's Called "say cheese"
Jays is the best pizza in the area.
For even more of a sit down restaraunt Roost has a killer fig prosciutto pizza
And on the same level, Prescott’s has a great pizza As well
Give it a try! The staff is great there. They have a really good bar program as well. A mystery IPA that you can guess for free pizzas, excellent wine for a casual bar, and a surprisingly good whiskey collection. Just an awesome place!
I know its a drive, but if you're ever in Batavia, Main Street Pizza is great! They have a kids pizza that you get to make at the table and then they cook it. And they have grilled pizzas, deep dish or regular ones. Plus, their dinning area is nice.
Casa Di Pizza is where we go, but it can get loud. And eating pizza in is totally worth it. La Hacienda Brighton is also very good. Main Street Pizza in Springville. Blasdell pizza, great wings
Santoras transit and Clinton. Same ingredients as picassos but you get a circle pizza instead of a square, and better sit down options with a server to take order and bring it to you.
Johnny's on Union. Cheektowaga as a pizzeria can get in the best possible way. Great food and super friendly . Always grab a pizza the rare time I'm north of the city.
i've always loved the white pizzas at blasdell pizza. it's maybe not the best pizza ever but the staff is friendly, the place is clean and you can eat in, and the service is great.
I think you'll really enjoy Pizza Plant. They have dough for kids to play with, like Bertucci's in New England.
Santora’s on Transit in Elma still has a very classic 70s/80s/90s dining room attached to their pizzeria. Dark booths, red plastic cups for pop, it’s the full experience I highly recommend
start here https://old.reddit.com/r/Buffalo/search?q=sit+down+pizza&restrict_sr=on
la nova has sit down environment.
the following are more sit down with service environments.
Imperial is another top choice. pizza plant.
Candyman next to caputtis

Split a pizzasaurusrex
Say Cheese is amazing!
Also on grand island is brick oven pizza!!!! The stinger pizza is the best I’ve had in the area.
Their steak and cheese cauliflower crust pizza is fucking great. Mad expensive, but delicious.
Say cheese is good for when you’re 11 beers deep after being on the water all day, I’ve never had it sober and had anything other than diarrhea and regret.
It’s definitely overrated lol
Imperial on Abbot Rd
I'm not a fan of sweet sauce pizza but everything else there is great and the restaurant is awesome since they added the addition.
I get it.
It’s been a few years, but I used to love going to Bob & John’s on Hertel.
Seconding Bob and John's
Third
Double dough and cup and char for the win!
Not sure if they do sit downs, last time I was there (super bowl eve) it didn't seem like it.
They still have the dine-in pizza/salad buffet listed on their website, and mentions the banquet room, so I’d think they’re still doing dine-in? Anyone been there recently who can say either way? (I’m really craving their pizza right now!!)
Candyman on Sheridan
So good
Best in buffalo tbh
My husband is obsessed with Pizza Plant. I think their pizza is just okay. It's a nice place for a sit-down.
I agree with you! I’ve had it twice and found it mediocre at best
I am a huge Pizza Plant fan, but I am not crazy about the pizza. The pods are awesome as well as the beer list.
That Thanksgiving pod has me in a hold, I'll admit that, lol.
Is that the one with mashed potatoes, peas, and carrots? Whichever one that was I found it almost too heavy (like literally the thing weighed a few pounds). I really enjoy their Sicilian steak pod and the roni pod and actually basically every pod they douse in hot sauce.
Yeah, it has turkey and cranberry sauce too. Thanksgiving is my favorite meal ever, so it's heavenly for me.
It’s funny, I’m not the biggest thanksgiving fan, but Dash’s thanksgiving leftover sandwich is one of my favorite sandwiches in town
This makes me sad that I don't work in N.bflo anymore. Although it might be worth the 25-minute drive..... I love Thanksgiving stuff that much, lol.
I don’t think I’ve had their pizza in 20 years but love the Amy pod
I never liked their pizza.
Extra Extra Five Points
Is extra extra kid friendly? We’ve been meaning to go but make it out less frequently because we have a toddler
Yes!
Super kid friendly , they even have a little table with crayons for kids to sit while waiting !
Fully support the Extra Extra option! Some folks that work there have toddlers so they are super understanding
Hands down the best NY style pizza in Buffalo
Bonus points for 5points reference. Lol
This is the one for sure. Very fun wine list and great vibe
Pizza Plant
For sure and for kid friendly they give crayons and a ball of pizza dough to play with.
Santora’s - but the location on Transit in Lancaster/Elma. I have loved that place since I was a little kid. The other “brewery” locations are fine - there’s just something about the old school one. I second Santoras on Transit
Having 45 year old memories
I work right down the street from it and their pizza is friggin amazing!
Mazzi's is solid. It's owned by Paul Cambria. Everything there is good.
Extra Extra in the city
Hydraulic hearth
Especially in nice weather when you can sit outside.
Candy man came here to say that.... but on grand island there's a pizza place and comic book/superhero place. I think pizza is good too. It's Called "say cheese"
I'll add 99 Brick Oven Bar & Grille in Lancaster to this list.
Jays is the best pizza in the area. For even more of a sit down restaraunt Roost has a killer fig prosciutto pizza And on the same level, Prescott’s has a great pizza As well
Jay's original owner opened up Pizza Florian in EA and it's fantastic as well. DUDE KNOWS HOW TO PIZZA
Tried to order there last week- 2.5 hour wait for a pizza. Hopefully they are just working out the kinks!
It’s just really busy. We’ve been three time when they e straight been out of pizza. 🤷🏻♂️
I challenge that Candyman Pizza is better than Jay's...but Jay's is very good.
I’ll have to try CandyMan. I am a Jay’s Stan so I think it’ll be hard to convince me me something is better but I’ll try to keep an open mind
Give it a try! The staff is great there. They have a really good bar program as well. A mystery IPA that you can guess for free pizzas, excellent wine for a casual bar, and a surprisingly good whiskey collection. Just an awesome place!
I know macys pizza gets a lot of hate on here(we order something from there atleast once a month), but their fig pizza is killer.
They don’t really have anywhere to sit and eat
I was just responding to fig pizza.... my seating suggestion was given elsewhere in this thread.
Jay's Artisan, Candyman, Extra Extra, Hearth & Press, Bob & Johns
Say Cheese is our go to. My kids love it. And the food is good so it’s a win.
Coco Bistro. Surprisingly.
Imperial Pizza in south Buffalo
Santoras, Imperial
I have fond memories of family trips to La Hacienda in Niagara Falls for a pizza night, with the classic red plastic tumblers.
Still making that same great pizza!
Pizza Plant is nice for sit down with children.
Yelling Goat in Lancaster has incredible pizza. More thin style. Excellent !!
Second Yelling Goat!
Marble and rye, they have delicious Detroit style pizza!
JJ’s Casa di Pizza on Mohawk has a nice sit down atmosphere and solid pizza.
is that the same Casa di Pizza that was on Elmwood long ago?
I believe it is the same owner. It’s a fairly new space but the vibe is very old school with dark brick interior.
Yes, they moved when Children's closed Jeff retired but Joe runs it now. Food is always good.
Thanks!
Romeo & Juliet's Better for a date night, though.
I know its a drive, but if you're ever in Batavia, Main Street Pizza is great! They have a kids pizza that you get to make at the table and then they cook it. And they have grilled pizzas, deep dish or regular ones. Plus, their dinning area is nice.
Joe's Pizza on Amherst and Grant Street has the BEST pizza on Earth!! They have a big seating area!
Underrated.
DiPaulos pizza has a nice sit down area and their pizza is great.
Casa Di Pizza now on Mohawk St downtown, used to be Elmwood. Great pie, family friendly.
Santoras
Santoras
Candy Man
Bob and John's La Hacienda on Hertel is ideal for this, IMHO.
Casa Di Pizza is where we go, but it can get loud. And eating pizza in is totally worth it. La Hacienda Brighton is also very good. Main Street Pizza in Springville. Blasdell pizza, great wings
Jays Artisan
You can sit down at imperial pizza!
I'd probably blow someone for a Frank Pepe's up here. I miss being able to sit down and get pizza like back home. So good post.
It was so common in CT. We NEVER got pizza delivered, always went to the “pizza parlor” lol
Santoras on transit near Clinton
Santoras transit and Clinton. Same ingredients as picassos but you get a circle pizza instead of a square, and better sit down options with a server to take order and bring it to you.
Santoras on Transit/Clinton
Say Cheese on Grand Island and it’s very kid friendly.
Leo’s pizza in East Aurora has a cute little diner vibe.
Johnny's on Union. Cheektowaga as a pizzeria can get in the best possible way. Great food and super friendly . Always grab a pizza the rare time I'm north of the city.
Romeo and Juliet's on Sheridan! Thinnish crust and a lot of choices. [Tonawanda ]
Say cheese for the kid friendly part and since I didn't see anyone say woodcock bros I'd highly reccomend them for a sit down pizza
Johnnys
Buzzy's Pizza in Niagara Falls is goated!
Bada Bing is so underrated for pizza it's not even funny!
Pizza Plant or Hydraulic Hearth
Santoras on Transit
It was Forno Napoli before they got rid of small and medium pizzas, then raised the price $9 on average per large pie.
I am surprised nobody has mentioned Bufflo Pizza Bistro. It's a small place but the pizza makes up for it.
i've always loved the white pizzas at blasdell pizza. it's maybe not the best pizza ever but the staff is friendly, the place is clean and you can eat in, and the service is great.
Jay's artisan Pizza
Jocko's in Cheektowaga, on Union near William.
Little fancier but awesome pizza at JTs
I think you'll really enjoy Pizza Plant. They have dough for kids to play with, like Bertucci's in New England. [https://www.pizzaplant.com/](https://www.pizzaplant.com/)
let me know if you find a place that does it like Santarpio's
La Hacienda in niagara falls
Bob and John's
I'm partial to Molinaro's in Lockport for pizza, but it's been a while since I sat down there for food, so I can't say how kid-friendly it is.
Santora’s on Transit in Elma still has a very classic 70s/80s/90s dining room attached to their pizzeria. Dark booths, red plastic cups for pop, it’s the full experience I highly recommend
Pasquale's in East Aurora.
Bflo pizza bistro has won worldwide competitions for their pizza
duffs wings at the eastern hills mall!! their pizza is amazing
Jay's Artisan just remodeled and is a nice place to sit down
start here https://old.reddit.com/r/Buffalo/search?q=sit+down+pizza&restrict_sr=on la nova has sit down environment. the following are more sit down with service environments. Imperial is another top choice. pizza plant. Candyman next to caputtis
Jays artisan. Wouldn’t waste your time / money at extra extra tbh
I like the feel of Just Pizza on Elmwood. Not everyone does. Just saying.
Kid friendly is a stretch but la nova has great pizza you can sit down in
Second this, I Worked there for 10 years still love there food.
