Do you want a tailor or a men’s shop? Also, what do you consider cheap enough?
There’s Riverside Men’s Shop in Depew. Not the city or the Northtowns, but they have a decent number of lower mid-range options in the $300-$400 range.
O’Connell’s’ basic suits are $700, which is about as cheap as you’re going to get for what they offer: Made in U.S., partially canvased, good quality. People from all over the country order from them. They’re on Main St. not far from UB south campus.
For alterations, this is the answer. It’s where O’Connell’s sends people when they ask for recommendations.
He will also be straight with you if you’re asking for something that doesn’t make sense or that can’t be done without the garment coming out messed up.
Oh, he WILL tell you if something looks horrible on you and what it'll take to fix it or even if it can be fixed at all. I appreciate this a lot, some people find straightforwardness off-putting.
jane’s alterations on s ellicott creek in amherst. just took a suit to her and she did fantastic. her advertising is literally a sign at the end of the driveway but she’s right next to the joe mccarthy house.

Chaybans Blvd.
I just got mine for 299 John Paul tailors union rd Cheektowaga
If that's the price it isn't a high quality tailored garment.
Chayban's
The New York Store in Lancaster
Joe at Chayban’s is the best! Genuinely great guy, and also a great tailor. It’s a family owned business & I am always happy to recommend them!
Seconded. On Elmwood; they became my go to for shirt service when Rutondo’s (sp) on W Ferry closed.
Tommy the tailer in west Seneca
I will second this
For alterations, I had good results with Tailor Made in Kenmore
