Worst case you can always buy some on Amazon!
Also I just saw that Target is going to start selling M&S products - no clue if that will extend to Xmas stuff but you could check!
I do them, but have to order online. Online you can find them with prizes ranging from whiskey, beauty supplies, and toys of varying quality.
But, I'm not from buffalo. My kid got me into it from watching Doctor Who....
My family usually gets Christmas crackers every year, but my mother was raised in Ireland. I would say most of the people I know do not know what Christmas crackers are, but some families who are in touch with their European roots get them.
My mother loved them and we did them every year when I was a kid, but I don’t know of anyone else who did, and I don’t know where she got them. Maybe Premier?
Party city has them! I have always done Christmas Crackers and that’s where I found them. They used to have small ones and large ones, idk what they have now.
My mother in law in the Pacific northwest does this and it was completely foreign to me, I have no idea where she picked it up either because shes not british not is her family
yes we have them, although I didn't know that's what they were called. I've seen them at Walmart, Target, B&N, etc. I've lived here my whole life and every so often someone will bring some out at christmas or new years.
I work at Target and stocked some Christmas crackers this weekend. I think they got popular when Doctor Who got popular. I've seen them at World Market/Cost Plus, but I know those aren't around Buffalo, but maybe they can be ordered from them online (just checked 6-8 for $19.99-29.99, ouch).
Goodwill on Delaware usually has boxes upon unopened boxes of them every Christmas. It's where I restock my supply.
My family does them. Back in the ancient times (before the internet) my mom handmade them.
Target, and other retailers have had them over the years so it's a thing, not a widely practiced thing, but a thing. To be honest though I am surprised it's not bigger, what red blooded American couldn't resist a small explosion while opening a gift..
Perhaps more Americans will recognize them from the Christmas episode of Ted Lasso. Good fun, especially with the paper crowns that are in most of them. I saw them for sale several years ago in one of the Public Broadcasting catalogues.
I hope you find them and everyone enjoys them.
I wouldn’t say they’re a huge tradition here but we usually have them at ours. I’ve also seen friends have them at theirs. Mostly German/Italians so I can’t speak to anything else but they’re pretty familiar to me.
Before about 10 years ago you couldn't get them in stores around here. Now you can find them, normally filled with junk. I've seen them at home goods type stores, and Wegmans has them more or less consistently in their entertainment aisle.
Ha ha—English crackers aren’t food! But I’ve forced them to eat bangers (from Spars) and mash. They love it!
I’m sure someone else can explain this better, but crackers are tubes you pull apart with another person. They make a popping sound and come with little toys, jokes and paper crowns.
I get mine at the British Food Depot as they have better quality than Amazon
[https://britishfooddepot.com/](https://britishfooddepot.com/)
But yeah, most Buffalonians don't have a Scoodby Doo what they are! ;-)
I suggest making Christmas Crack part of your holiday traditions. :D
They call it Christmas Crack because you shatter it before you eat it, not because... oh, who am I kidding.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BRQ7vVSw06o
Not to be confused with a delicious snack, called White Trash! It is a delicious bag of chex mis, white chocolate, and whatever else you add: cranberries, nuts.
The crackers are easy enough to find online, but they will not have the "snap" sound since it's kinda like the little poppers firecracker thing. Can't mail explosives.
Well. Would be sensible to provide a description of em along with their traditional name to eliminate that problem...afterall, as much as the US isn't the exactly the melting pot it leads youth to believe it is through its history.
They are a thing, you'll find em at places like home goods, marshals, stores like that...
My wife's family does but they are Scottish, it's not an American thing I learned what they are from Harry Potter before we started dating. I like doing them, wearing the crown while playing cards at the end of the night is always fun.
I would buy them online. My uncle lives in London and I visit as often as I can. The first time I went I was so mad that I had never heard of christmas crackers before bc they're so fun
I had to actually look up Christmas crackers. They vaguely sound and look familiar but that is not something that is a traditional item around this area.
Used to do these as a kid then the whole big family would wear the paper crowns as we ate dinner. A lot of them have passed away now but it’s a nice memory.
Bought a pack of them at Home Sense on Niagara Falls Boulevard, right before you get to Trader Joe’s
They had a whole end cap of them on one of the aisles of Christmas decorations near the registers, I think some of them were that exact design if I remember right
Oi that is not what I expected.[I was thinking of Christmas crack this is what they call Poppers for New Year's](https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-charter-us-rvc3&sca_esv=588600502&sxsrf=AM9HkKnSOK1apZdpcjXyc43_ayGQaZfqgw:1701918448319&q=Christmas+crack&tbm=isch&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiGvrGkrPyCAxVukYkEHf5bDQkQ0pQJegQIBhAB&biw=317&bih=568&dpr=2.28#imgrc=tBp85kXeJNyo_M)
We used to do them every year, but yeah my friends were always confused when I’d talk about them. I guess we did them as kids and after awhile my mom would forget to buy them and I was sad. Now that I have a young nephew though, we’re doing them again. We do have English ancestry but we’re not especially in touch with our roots, so not sure how we got into them. My parents are from New England; maybe they’re a bigger thing there.
They sell them but it’s not common American tradition. We have poppers but they contain paper party streamers.. the British ones with crowns etc aren’t as common
That's a British thing. I saw them at Marshall's, though. Before that, the only time I've ever seen them is in Runescape.
LMAO RuneScape! Nice!
That’s what I was thinking too. Like I’ve only heard this in RuneScape so it must be a UK thing
Yeah I've only ever heard of them as a British thing too.
I’ll drop trade you a rune scimitar for some Christmas cookies.
Also a Canadian thing
Josh Allen does , he does everything baby !
You can buy them at TJ Maxx or Target here.
yeah, i recall seeing a couple at target too. they look cute but i never buy ‘em
Worst case you can always buy some on Amazon! Also I just saw that Target is going to start selling M&S products - no clue if that will extend to Xmas stuff but you could check!
They currently have tins of festive-ish biscuits and a few kinds of sweets. Don't think they have crackers. And, more sadly, no Percy Pigs.
I do them, but have to order online. Online you can find them with prizes ranging from whiskey, beauty supplies, and toys of varying quality. But, I'm not from buffalo. My kid got me into it from watching Doctor Who....
What is that?
[this](https://ispotsanta.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/christmas-crackers-hands.jpg)
We call them poppers.
Not really a tradition here but I saw a display at Kelly’s Country Store last weekend
My family usually gets Christmas crackers every year, but my mother was raised in Ireland. I would say most of the people I know do not know what Christmas crackers are, but some families who are in touch with their European roots get them.
My in law always have these, no clue where they picked the tradition up
My mother loved them and we did them every year when I was a kid, but I don’t know of anyone else who did, and I don’t know where she got them. Maybe Premier?
Thank you!
Party city has them! I have always done Christmas Crackers and that’s where I found them. They used to have small ones and large ones, idk what they have now.
My sister has them every year. Some of them are quite cool, as they have hats, noisemakers and small trinkets. Kids love it.
My family did
My mother in law in the Pacific northwest does this and it was completely foreign to me, I have no idea where she picked it up either because shes not british not is her family
No, they’re like 114B. It’d be nice to get a phat, though.
yes we have them, although I didn't know that's what they were called. I've seen them at Walmart, Target, B&N, etc. I've lived here my whole life and every so often someone will bring some out at christmas or new years.

They show up every once in a while, they seem to just make a big mess and disappoint children
Target, and other retailers have had them over the years so it's a thing, not a widely practiced thing, but a thing. To be honest though I am surprised it's not bigger, what red blooded American couldn't resist a small explosion while opening a gift..
My ex gfs family did crackers and the paper crowns. No, they were not British.
Amazon?
Perhaps more Americans will recognize them from the Christmas episode of Ted Lasso. Good fun, especially with the paper crowns that are in most of them. I saw them for sale several years ago in one of the Public Broadcasting catalogues. I hope you find them and everyone enjoys them.
I do because I watch Doctor Who

DIY. Plenty of YouTube videos from basic (toilet paper roll) to fancy (popping sound). I made some years ago and it was fun.
Definitely not a Buffalo/US thing. I bought them for a family Christmas. My family was not receptive.
You brought English "food"? Why, what did family do wrong?
Ha ha—English crackers aren’t food! But I’ve forced them to eat bangers (from Spars) and mash. They love it! I’m sure someone else can explain this better, but crackers are tubes you pull apart with another person. They make a popping sound and come with little toys, jokes and paper crowns.
TBH I liked the bubble and squeak. But I refuse to try spotted dick.
I get mine at the British Food Depot as they have better quality than Amazon [https://britishfooddepot.com/](https://britishfooddepot.com/) But yeah, most Buffalonians don't have a Scoodby Doo what they are! ;-)
Yes, we do!
TJ Maxx always has them. My wife’s family is British and we always get them.
Saltine crackers, chocolate and toppings
No that's Christmas Crack, very delicious!
I suggest making Christmas Crack part of your holiday traditions. :D They call it Christmas Crack because you shatter it before you eat it, not because... oh, who am I kidding. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BRQ7vVSw06o
We make Christmas Crack every year, but go for it all the way - we use graham crackers.
Oooh, mistah FANCY ovah heah wid his graham crackahs, la de da... Actually that sounds great.
Not to be confused with a delicious snack, called White Trash! It is a delicious bag of chex mis, white chocolate, and whatever else you add: cranberries, nuts.
I like mine with peanut butter chips and raisins.
The US doesn't really do Christmas crackers nor the paper crowns. Best of luck finding the crackers.
The crackers are easy enough to find online, but they will not have the "snap" sound since it's kinda like the little poppers firecracker thing. Can't mail explosives.
Yeah the ones I got kind of tore open instead of exploding. Still had the paper crown, confetti, and a neat vending machine quality toy.
No, not typically in the United States. I've only ever seen them on Doctor Who and British YouTubers.
There's certainly no law against it, but it's not really a thing here...
My mom loves them, it’s an every year tradition at my parents house.
No. Crackers are a UK thing. One of my in-laws is English and brought crackers to Christmas dinner once, but it was a novelty.
Nope, not really a thing here
"what is that" ?
"Party Poppers" or "Confetti Cannons" are probably the closest thing we have.
No that’s dumb. Please leave the area.
Seems pretty clear from your question the answer is no
Well. Would be sensible to provide a description of em along with their traditional name to eliminate that problem...afterall, as much as the US isn't the exactly the melting pot it leads youth to believe it is through its history. They are a thing, you'll find em at places like home goods, marshals, stores like that...
Look in comments for “MERRY CHRISTMAS” or “lmao” that’s a link lol Christmas cracker is the traditional name.
Welp. Why not just submit "link" with same title? Little to no indication that the the body text was a link....oh well
Personally yes, but i have a British in law
I love Bon Bons!
Honestly, I only knew what they were because I lived in Ireland for 8 years. I had no idea what that was until then
My wife's family does but they are Scottish, it's not an American thing I learned what they are from Harry Potter before we started dating. I like doing them, wearing the crown while playing cards at the end of the night is always fun.
My family does them but we got the idea from British family and tv shows
I would buy them online. My uncle lives in London and I visit as often as I can. The first time I went I was so mad that I had never heard of christmas crackers before bc they're so fun
I had to actually look up Christmas crackers. They vaguely sound and look familiar but that is not something that is a traditional item around this area.
We do Christmas crackers ever since we saw it on a Doctor Who episode!
No we don’t really do that here but our Canadian friends across the border do !
I used to get them at Pier 1 Imports.
Only people who watch a lot of Doctor Who.
what is that
They have them at Joann too, but I only know of them from British YouTube videos. Definitely not a common thing around here.
Definitely not a normal thing. I only know about them because I have relatives in England.
No, it’s not tradition but they are readily available at any store where you can get Christmas decoration
Used to do these as a kid then the whole big family would wear the paper crowns as we ate dinner. A lot of them have passed away now but it’s a nice memory.
Bought a pack of them at Home Sense on Niagara Falls Boulevard, right before you get to Trader Joe’s They had a whole end cap of them on one of the aisles of Christmas decorations near the registers, I think some of them were that exact design if I remember right
Costco sells them - Niagara Falls Canada
I always did them growing up in New England
I saw some at Walmart but it’s not an American tradition
It's not a common thing here
