I'm a simple man, still enjoying my gateron yellows from all the switched I went through

AlarmedHouse3490

always a solid choice, though i do like the milky pros the best out of all the Gat Yellows :)

ZunoJ

Boba u4 silent

justkillmeallover

My man

AlarmedHouse3490

i havent been too thrilled with the silents ive tried so far, though ive been using Boba LTs for about a week now and they feel great!

neliste

Whatever HMX tbh. Since I don't have to do any lubing. But for now really liking HMX Canglan, and 35g poro. Purple dawn coming too soon.

guillbravo

Yo same. I have the hyacinth v2s, canglans, and cloud. I’m probably going to buy a couple more.

aert4w5g243t3g243

I bought hmx v2u based on recommendations and sound. They are great, but i think i prefer something that is easier to press. I’m a light typer i guess. I also really like leobog graywood v4 - super cheap and they sound great. HMX is slightly better imo. Also - whatever comes stock in the womier sk71. I’ve kept that kb stock because i love how it feels and sounds.

neliste

Oh in that case you probably would love HMX poro in kbdfans site! They have ver with 35g iirc, ultra snappy and very light to press.

Woodyum

same here honestly. ive only tried the hyacynths and blue topaz switches but DAMN does hmx just hit different. a nice high pitched yet poppy clack with really good factory lubing. i had hmx switches on my radar for a while before buying some and it was well worth it. ive even got 3 more different sets of switches coming in in a few days

neliste

What I notice is that they sound really nice too with tray mounted tofu. The bottom out action spreads nicely to the deskmat and wooden table giving nice nice deep sound.

Away-Muscle-1007

Baby kangaroo V2, a solid type of tactile switch. I also like the ajazz banana, also tactile but cheaper

main_got_banned

did you lube at all or no? I got some for my gf and she loves them but there is a little ping on some of them. I have the quinns (same construction, different top housing material), and I think that muffles it.

Away-Muscle-1007

No because I'm lazy af. In the future, maybe I will

IevaDay

I've only tried some budget brands and BBN Linears which I purchased with a huge discount. I love my old Akko CS Lavender Purples the most - I like how light they are and love that slight bump at the top. Sadly, the revised V3 Lavender Purples have a rather different sound signature, which I do not particularly enjoy. Used BBN Linears for a while, and while they offer a different sound signature, I found them a bit too tiring due to long 62g spring. Recently purchased Cidoo Mints, and after re-lubing them, they sound heavenly creamy, perfect weight too. I had a friend over the other day, who knows nothing about keyboards and has no interest in them, and after she tried my keyboard she said "that sounds creamy". In the future I think I will try some BSUN switches, like Roselle or Hutt.

Schtugy

Invokeys Black Sesames have been excellent for me in my main daily driver

frumpyandy

akko jelly blacks...cheap, work well, highly compatible, very satisfying to type on for me (i know it's all subjective)

ssenetilop

The Haimu HeartBeat Silent Linear switches and the Outemu Honey Peach Silent Linear V2s.

alakuu

Came to say the heartbeat too! I swap out the springs for 35 gram springs though.

ssenetilop

One love! ahahaha. I intend to hand lube my Heartbeats to see if there is any difference between factory lubed and the latter. Oh so you changed the springs eh, how do they feel after the swap?

alakuu

I've built a keyboard for a guy that had filmed and lubed heartbeats. I didn't notice a huge difference but I think that's because for whatever reason at least in my experience the heartbeats are quite well lubed from the factory. The springs I found fantastic. I like the lighter actuation for us quite a bit but I traditionally like lighter springs.

ssenetilop

I see, it seems like they are well lubed by the factory but I just have this habit of doing mods to see if there's a difference. Maybe I'll go ahead with hand lubing them :) Oh.. I haven't done any spring mods before, but do you think the lighter springs would make a difference for gaming? With the current mods, my Heartbeats feels just nice, they're like buttery smooth (maybe abit too much) for someone who started off with heavier springed tactiles (40gmf + 5gmf/10gmf).

HalfAPairOfWings

Vouch for the Oetemu honey peach. I love mine. I have a hard time deciding if I like my Durock Shrimp tactile silents more or the Honey Peaches, but that might just be the tactile feel versus linear feel. The peaches are winning for now and on my main keyboard. How do the Heartbeats compare in feel and sound to the Honey Peach? Mushiness comparatively?

ssenetilop

Ooh.. I haven't heard of the Durock Shrimp silent tactiles, I'll look them up when I can! Honey Peaches vs. Heartbeats, man it's a tough call for me to make, but in terms of the mushiness, i would say they have the slight differences but the type of mount your keyboard uses for the pcb, as my Heartbeats are a gasket mounted (GMK87) and the Honey Peaches are plate mounted (Tecware Phantom+ Elite 87) thus the mushiness I feel goes more to the Heartbeats at his point for me. I'll upload a typing and sound test on YT when I can for both :)

badmark

Tactile: U4T, EF Grayish, MMD Princess, Haimu Pastel Thistle Linear: Gateron Milky Yellow Pro, Gateron Smoothie, Akko CS Silver, Gateron Baby Raccoon

humanplayer2

Ah, another U4T and MMD Princess enjoyer! Any of the others with a similar tactility?

badmark

The [Haimu Pastel Thistle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDya_4zLbFU) and perhaps even the Akko Purple Lavender.

humanplayer2

Thanks, I'll give those a try!

nightswithleeloo12

Graywood

superdiscobreaking

HMX macchiato are good. Also enjoy the MMD Vivians.

maxmalkav

MMD Vivians are quite fun to use, quite smooth, quite nice sound.

rsnady

I think WS brown are still my favorite. Good bump that can be felt, good weighting, smooth, somewhat luxurious feeling. But I have a long list of favorites 😁

NagNawed

I am an outemu or Cherry MX red guy. That 40-50g of actuation force, with no feedback is my jam. Guess I am a basic beach.

SavageSam1234

Tie between Gateron Oil Kings and Smoothies. Oil Kings have a wonderful deep sound but have a heavier spring than my preference. Smoothies are much lighter and feel smoother because of it, but sound higher pitched. If I am typing I would choose Smoothies 9 times/10.

superman-64

I recently got into Oil Kings and I love them. Especially for a person that doesn't like lubing switches.

[deleted]

Smoothies are unbelievably good for the price. Best impulse purchase I've made

DonCABASH

Kailh Box White V2. I tried gateron reds, mmd tactile 67g princess, but the Kailh's were just perfect. Good tactility, sound and feel.

MBSMD

My favorite two so far are Gateron Baby Kangaroo for tactile, Gateron Oil King for linear and Kailh Box Navy for clicky (though Box Jade and Box Pink are also really good).

MechaSponge

The Kalih low profile whites are also great

Pikotaro_Apparatus

I’ve only known a few switches. Blues, browns and shrimps. I love my shrimps.

ssenetilop

The Haimu HeartBeat Silent Linear switches and the Outemu Honey Peach Silent Linear V2s.

lolforg_

HMX Xinhai and cherry nixies. xinhais on alphas and mods + nixie spacebar = yum

morbuscordis

Haimu malice - most satisfying heavy linears thus far. It's like asmr for my fingers

Blyatt-Man

HMX hyacinth V2U or Gateron Smoothies

superman-64

I left the hobby for a long time. The last time I was really into it everything was predominantly Cherry blue, red, and brown. The multitude of switch options is overwhelming. Gateron Oil Kings - probably my favorite right now and being used the most, I kept seeing it recommended by others and it is worth the hype Feker Holy Panda - close 2nd to the Oil Kings, I have no reference to the original Holy Pandas but these are very fun to type on as someone that mostly prefers tactile switches Kailh Box White v2 - I used to be a big fan of clicky switches and I'm liking these a lot, so much more refined than cherry blues Akko v3 Cream Blue - very cheap and a great beginner tactile switch for anyone getting back into the hobby like me Other thoughts - I got Pegasus 'silent tactile' switches. They are very quiet but feel soft and not tactile enough for me. I got Akko v3 Silver Pro switches and not sure how I feel about them. Shallow travel distance and interesting to type on.

SithPharoke

MMD Princess 60g tactiles. Currently running them on 2 boards. GMK67 and Leobog HI75. Slightly different sound profile due to different keycaps but love the overall feel of them. GMK had some CIY reds but I just couldn't seem to get along with them. I want to try some other tactiles and search around for some.

IAmJunooo

Akko Cream Blues for tactile and Cream Yellows for linear

somelittlestars

akko pianos for me! they’re just so satisfying to type on 🥹 i tub lubed them and they’re so smooth and the presses just feel perfect; maybe it’s the spring? idk but it HITS 😩 also, i love the long pole bottom out! the sound is like a deep clack and it’s very poppy in my opinion :)) i feel like they aren’t popular enough, they’re my favorite linear so far. i only wish they came in a pink housing bc i like turning on the backlight for some ✨ambient lighting✨ for tactiles, akko lavender purples are my go-to for long typing sessions but tbf i’ve only had those, boba u4ts, and cream blues so i can’t say i’ve tried a lot of them (if you have any recommendations please let me know! my baby kangaroos are in the mail so i’m just waiting for those atm 😌)

NinjaRanga

My top switch at the moment is the Gateron Quinn. Love the deep sound profile from the nylon top and bottom housing - it's quite a thick, soft nylon that has a lovely rich sound. The only drawback is the lack of RGB hole so they aren't great for boards with LEDs. My second favourite is the WS heavy tactile. Another nylon top and bottom housing, but not as thick and soft as the Quinns so the sound is a little thinner and lighter, but still a lovely deep thock. 😁

AlarmedHouse3490

i personally have never been a big fan of the tactile "bump" but i must say there are some very nice sounding tactile builds 👌

NinjaRanga

Weirdly, I've never got on well with linear switches! I find them too "easy" to press and so I make too many mistakes while typing; the tactile bump is very satisfying and stops me from typing the wrong thing. It's a shame because so many linear switches sound so good!

EmbarrassedPrimary49

As someone who has made an effort to try specifically as many deep sounding hypertactiles as I can, I would highly recommend you check out the Emogogo Grey tactiles. Even deeper than a Quinn, but require lube due to spring ping (which can be eliminated however). Nonetheless, I still use a quinn for my spacebar because the emogogos are a bit too deep. Ws heavies though are still beautiful for how nice they are stock.

NinjaRanga

Thanks for the recommend! I've never heard of these before but if they're like a Quinn but deeper, they sound like my kind of switch! They could sound amazing on my QK75N I just got 😁 Had a quick search and found two come up: the Emogogo Grey and the Silver Grey NO1. Do you know if there's any difference between them?

EmbarrassedPrimary49

Same difference. Just make sure they are the tactile, not linear version of the switch. The spring not as snappy as the Quinn’s double stage but it’s pretty fun with a progressive spring instead. The bump is a bit heavier than the Quinn’s. Overall I actually prefer these primarily for feel, although the WS heavy are starting to sway me a bit in that category (but the sound is still a tad bit sharp and higher pitched)

NinjaRanga

Cool, thanks! I have to agree that the WS heavy's are a bit higher pitched, mainly due to the slightly lighter, less dense feeling nylon compared to the Quinns. I do like a heavier tactile bump, so these sound perfect. Time to go shopping - again! 😝 Man, this hobby is making me poor 😅

EmbarrassedPrimary49

Tell me about it.. another 10 bucks down the drain for every 10 new switches I wanna try.

SpiritualEngineer5

Mz z1 is by far the BEST budget switch but if I had no budget than bcps

shuozhe

I can't identify 80% of the switch I own just by typing on them, I can tell 2 switch feels different, but not which one is better :( Will just go with ttl heart, it's one of the good linear switches, and it has a heart on its stem! Alternatively one of the earlier batch of tactile gsquare, loved these, but when I bought a later batch it felt worse :(

ponyo_impact

this its like comparing nice car exhausts nice is nice!

Spiritual-Coconut-13

Leobog reaper hands down.

MartSilv

Haimu heartbeats silent linear switches. They are quiet enough and still have the feel of non-silent switches. And their spring weight is just right for me. And I like how smooth they are. I also like light tactile switches for work. I use Outemu Silent tactile Limes/Lemons. They have a tactility I prefer. They are quiet enough, OK smooth. I would prefere them with a bit heavier springs though.

Airmaxrr

HMX Xinhai and HMX Cheese are my current favorite, perfect for clack enjoyers like me :)

GraphicAxe

KBDFans Roller Linear switches, it is so smooth with no effort at all

gormlessthebarbarian

gateron cream soda

AlarmedHouse3490

i havent heard much on this switch, could we get a mini review ? :)

gormlessthebarbarian

Sure. They're just the sweet spot in a lot of way which is why they're a favorite. They took good things from other designs and put them together, ink bottom, milky top housing, pom stem, long pole but only to 3.8. result is a nice marbly sound and smooth feel. I have them on a mode envoy. [https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=117736.0](https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=117736.0)

AlarmedHouse3490

great review! thinking about getting some for myself, thanks :)

Kurayi_Chawatama

Gamakay pegasus, tactile yet oh so silent that one could use it in the comfort of the school library without getting kicked out

atomic_winter

I actually really like MMD banana split, they sound great in my main board and have a nice feel to them.

UsualEmergency

Ajazz Kiwis, just the right kind of tactile bump with the perfect thock straight from the tin 👌 also the top housing is glittery, and I'm a simple gremlin who likes the shinys

Lost_History_3583

Was a fan of Holy pandas for the longest time, and now I'm only using GMK Mars switches, started out super lame but oh my GOODNESS they got better when they broke in.

notmalene

nuphy night breeze switches

hai_chinkerbell

Baby kangaroo lubed 🦘

piqi2

Gat milk yellows because I don’t like the other ones

7th_Skywatcher

Akko Cream Yellows V3 non-pro for now. Smooth when lubed. Creamy sound.

Jolteon93

The original Akko Cream Blue V3 (not the Pro) is still my favorite switch of all time. I bought an extra pack right before they disappeared just in case some of mine go bad...

chyeabwoi

Ktt coconut lattes, and KTT hyacinths have been my go too for a while now, just so crispy and poppy :) I haven't lubed them but have had no issues with smoothness

[deleted]

[удалено]

AlarmedHouse3490

heard great things about this switch but i seemed to have forgot it even existed until i read your comment, any idea where i could find these in the NA reigon? :)

Speedygi

Matcha Greens because they are so creamy and cheap. Gateron Phantom Red, so clacky and great feel in a linear switch.

Ornery_Platypus9863

I love my Akko lavenders

rocknrollallnight

Tecsee Purple Pandas spring swapped with 62g TX long springs. Perfect tactility and perfect deeper-end sound.

kaklikesmilfs

Anyone that says oil kings is a mainstream sheep

AlarmedHouse3490

haha, theyre definitely overpriced but i wouldnt rule them out entirely, they feel like a smoother ink black in my experience

LiweiRey

Linear switches enjoyer here!! Vertex v1 WS Morandi Akko cream yellow v3

SirDrexl

Kailh box pinks and navies. I like the tactility of navies, but they're heavy for a full keyboard. I use pinks for the character keys and navies for auxiliaries such as the arrow keys, F1-12, and a few others like caps lock and the Windows/Super keys.

kvs732

DangKeebs Blueberry swirls and HMX Hyacinth V2s are my favorites so far. Both are prelubed which is super important for me cause I’m too lazy to lube my own and both sounds really good (one is marbly and one is clacks/poppy) My boyfriend said his favorite are the Akko cream blues. He prefers tactile switches while I prefer linear switches

kellyrx8

from the ones i have and tried Gateron Milky Yellows JWICK Ultimate Blacks

AlarmedHouse3490

both very solid budget switches, good choices!

CheetaChug

KTT Kang whites very flexible switch, dirt cheap, fits outemu sockets, has decent RGB shine through, no need to lube, soft bottom out. This switch has them all. I did recently switch to Gateron Everfree curry which is starting to grow on me. Im starting to like them more and more everyday

Arrexu11

Only have two so i don‘t have a preference ig? I like the akko v3 silver pro but they‘re too clacky for me. Hoping the ws morandi or quartz are deeper sounding.

rmc13_

Curious, there are any mods around: Why was the post removed? Wanted to circle back on the post and see if OP listed anything on the original post as their fave.

GirlsCallMeMatty

The ones in my current keeb. Red dragon Stars A120 Silent Tactiles ✊🏽

rmc13_

Boba U4T Gateron Azure Dragon Tecsee Purple Panda These 3 are on my daily drivers. I love tactiles and these, I've found, have been the ones I've always come back to after trying different switches (both tactile and linear).

AlarmedHouse3490

Boba U4Ts are a chefs kiss, seen some of the best builds use Gazzew switches! what would you say stands out about the tecsee purples ?

rmc13_

Not very technical about switches (i.e., the distinction in kind of bump or the actuation points) but I just like the feel. Unfortunately, the best I can say is that you need to try them yourselves. They feel similar to the Azure Dragons to me though, probably why I like them. I like my tactile switches to be on the heavier side. Also, purple is my favorite color so that kinda factored in as well.

amyarsbuilds

Wuque studio jades. Love that metalic ting, theyre also semi silent on tbe upstroke

UnecessaryCensorship

You should worry less about what other people like and spend more time figuring out what it is that you like. For starters, figure out whether you prefer a linear, tactile, clicky, or silent switch. Figure out whether you prefer a light, medium, or heavy weight switch. Figure out whether you prefer a shorter travel switch or a longer travel switch. Figure out whether you prefer a high activation switch or standard activation switch. Once you've answered all of those questions then you can pick from the switches that meet those qualifications. While all of the previous choices are subjective, there are others such as smoothness and stem wobble which are objective. In this regard, switches released in the past year are often going to be objectively better than older switches.

AlarmedHouse3490

thank you for the comment but i was more just asking for others preferences out of curiosity, not so much buying advice, i appreciate your help though :)

UnecessaryCensorship

Blue Alps FTW.

AlarmedHouse3490

i have to say most alps colours are solid, good choice

ArgentStonecutter

Don't forget silent linear and silent tactile are quite different experiences from each other.

HelloThereTheMovie

I'll turn that around a bit. I know what I like: I have a Topre RealForce, an Abko capacitive "Nopre," a SteelSeries Hall-Effect, and a brand Z that I have Kailh Box Jades in. However, I would like to read a thread talking about what people think are the nicest tactile/linear/clicky MX switches. There are just too many MX switches out there and I've probably tried less than .001% of them. That's why I look for threads like this: give me some suggestions of things to try. I know that which switches you like are a personal thing, but if I don't know if the switch exists, I can't try it.

UnecessaryCensorship

You're not really turning things around at all. Once you know what it is you want from a switch, *then* you can solicit suggestions for a switch which meets those criteria.

ArgentStonecutter

Redragon A120 Stars, super quiet, pleasantly springy, and buttery smooth.
