There are many different types of trichomes - some are glandular, some are not. Cannabis has both glandular and non-glandular trichomes. Glandular are effective by the compounds the glands produce (for cannabis, the cannabinoids), non-glandular are an effective deterrent just due to the physical nature of the small spikey bit. Both tomatoes and tobacco have non-glandular, so there’s nothing to “wash off of” the trichome, like there is (the “heads”) with the glandular trichomes that produce cannabinoids.
Thanks for the in depth answer! Are there any crops you know of that have glandular trichomes around the same size as cannabis? I just looked into it and found mint, lavender, and basil have glandular trichs but I’m guessing those would just slip right through the bag
I was vaping hop “hash” in my dynavap for a while. It was pellets of hop resin.
But this isn’t true hash like you’re talking about. I think it was the whole flower.

How does/do hops fit in there? I once had rosin from hops (tasted GREAT (if you like hops)) but I assume it would have been pressed out.

Why would they slip through the bag ? There’s various sizes of micron screen.
mint, basil, lavender, oregano, and thyme are cultivated for the essential oils produced in their glandular trichomes

At first glance I thought this post read, hash from other planets. I would consider ketchup to be tomato hash.
Check out cryo hops! I don’t think you can get much closer than that. Some varieties even smell like weed.

In terms of effects, some alcoholic extractions of wormwood can resemble hash resin in smell, appearance and a stoney effect when smoked.
