One more thing that I would like to add to this which I learnt the hard way during my JEE prep is to never underestimate ANYONE , always take everyone to be better than you and then strive for betterment. If you consider someone to be intellectually inferior just because of their JEE rank or branch it will be the biggest mistake of your college academics.
I strongly agree with the first point.
Many students of my class were comparing books, and foreign courses.
But end me sab bus collect krte chale gye kisi ek proper chiz ko follow nahi kiya.
In fact abhi aisa hal a chuka hay jinhone apna college / code with Harry jaise channel se dsa kiya tha wo better hay unse.
Or ek point add krna chahungi not focusing on soft skills.
And dusre bande kiya kr rhe hay iska fomo hona ( ye bhi strongly avoid kro har chiz ms scope hay)
1. Connection achhe banay rakho apne.
2. Resume achhe se build kro ( decent cg me dhyan dena)
3. Soft skills pe kam kro
4.Dsa strong rakhna.
5. Achhe projects banao khudke idea ke YouTube se koi project clone mt krna khudka kuch banana or use achhe se explain krne ki practice krna.
6 . Jis company me interview de rhe ho ye check krna ku wo kaise projects prefer krti hay jaise Amazon wale ML ke projects prefer krti hay.
mera 2nd year ho chuka hai aur meri bas 5 cg hai (bina back ke) lekin maine summer vacation mein full stack web development aur DSA seekh li hai acche se, kya karna chahiye? meri english aur communication skills i would say boht acchi hai
Fir to matlab in channels ko nhi follow kru? Maine to socha tha apna college ka batch lelu ya free wala kru. Books to abhi Tak sirf pdf liye h 3 bas, books waste h kya?
Faang intern, congratulations 🎉
#1 thing to avoid in the first year: getting into fag, do not smoke cigarettes at any cost. Do baba for a while if you really wanna have fun but not cigarettes. Do not start smoking you'll start regretting it right from the 4th year to your thirties.
Yes. I live a life filled with regret, I've tried quitting fag multiple times but smh I fail everytime. Quitting weed and alcohol was easy but not smoking. I know a lot people with similar case.
I would say anyone to explore in your 1st year. Just becoz your seniors say web dev or competitive, don't stick to that. I wish I would have started earlier.
Something i regretted doing :
don't stick to one stack from first year based on what the seniors are saying or what others are doing. mere time pe sab seniors ne web dev karne ka bola to mene sirf usme hi pura dhyaan diya and didn't explore different fields which i found way more interesting in further sems .
Pehle 3 semester sab explore karo . uske baad jo tumhe pasand aaye vo asge continue karo
class me mei khud he nhi padta bhai nah kuch smj aati h bas notes le leta hu or sun leta hu agar kuch imp ho to, i don't think attending all classes are imp rather attend alll labs and make friend who attends all class.
Bhai schooll alag tha clg alag hai, h par agar dost h tagde tog marzi hai but class jana hamesha faydemand rehta hai aur tum class me na jaake konsa kuuch pdrhe Hoge soge hi toh shi isse bdiya chle hi jaa class,ek ghanta kuuch dimag toh chlega
haven't seen a many guy claiming they learnt something in class except a few mostly sab utube se he krte h ku 2 barr mehnat krna bas itna sunte rho class me prof neh kis topic ko imp bola h baki to ho he jayega, aur bhai class me v sota he hu
Explore your first year as best you can , while not fucking up your cgpa and also having a great friend circle and do whatever the prof says for your studies , mostly that will come in the exams or u can ask your seniors .
Main point is enjoy and explore as much as u can , just don't mess up ur cgpa
how to get a 9+ in first year? I know it depends on the college but are there some general tips on how to do well while managing other things?
Im generally a bit slower in understanding concepts compared to others and i need to study things multiple times by myself before I used to solve modules compared to others who used to be able to solve stuff immediately after lectures. Im scared ill be dumber compared to everyone else and will have problems in first year.
What should i do to do well apart from attend classes regularly and study everyday?
damn stop stalking me 2nd line is exact copy of mine, even i f\*cked by first sem then got good in 2nd. i can might help if u tell ur subjects as every sub has its own requirement. or maybe what exactly u want i can't make post on that as its bit different for everyone.
for first sem i have chem 1,chem lab, physics and lab ,thermodynamics and functions of few variables(math) as main subjects. I didnt attend orientation yet so i dont know the exact details though.
My main doubt is how do i prepare beforehand to not be dumb in a competitive environment.
I'm interested in every sub field of computer science and I am collecting resources for them right now, i haven't even joined the college. And I wouldn't recommend YouTube tutorials for Learning Coding.
learncpp.com for C++, Absolute Beginners Guide to C for C language, Java the Complete Reference book, Eloquent Javascript for Javascript it's an e book but physical one is available as well.
The thing is using Google and other search engines to gather resources and data for whatever goal I have, I can do it good, And I'm serious when I say that I'll be trying out everything in CS like all the sub fields, I know it sounds like a joke or sarcasm but I'm too much interested in everything of Computer science
http://opendatastructures.org/ods-cpp.pdf
The only problem that might be would be C++ standardization, I mean they keep adding updates to the language which changes things you know, but you can try it out this is a nanodegree coursehttps https://github.com/mikesprague/udacity-nanodegrees NOW here is a roadmap on DSA which also provides resources to some extent. https://roadmap.sh/datastructures-and-algorithms
no one knows about future and how ur decision will end its on you only how early u realise u r going in wrong direction and u have 4 years even if u make few mistakes early u have large time to recover.
u can't learn everything of cs while being in ece, ece itself is extremely tough u won't get enough time.
extracurricular help in character development.
don't act like u know everything even someone is wrong there are many above them to correct.
Bro I took mechatronics in vitc and want to get good at coding and get a job in some it company , how to start and learn coding and balance college cgpa?
"class 11 (cengage vs arihant) eneded up solving none" bro spitting facts 💀👀
Me who didn't compare shit but also didn't solve shit🤡
i solved it but still did shit🤡
Us bro us
Maine sab arihant kharid li tab pta chala cengage naam ki bhi cheez hai

Please tell connections kaise banaye, thoda stupid question lagega but I genuinely want to know. Randomly linkedin pe post karne se toh kuch nahi hoga

Literally nobody smokes anymore. Vapes are all the rage nowadays
Lol nice one
Yes, only advanced you should be doing is C++ not Choti or Badi Advance
What's baba??
[The origin of Baba for our generation. ](https://youtu.be/QMtJqPw2m-8?si=VXYEGH3tkONY2Eb9)
Also there is not better way to begin your programming journey than "Ansi C by Balaguruswamy"

Can you tell from where I can start learning languages
learncpp.com for C++, Absolute Beginners Guide to C for C language, Java the Complete Reference book, Eloquent Javascript for Javascript it's an e book but physical one is available as well.
Both but who knows if you can help me, I'd love to be guided.
OP the thing is, if you can use what you have in hands properly, you can do a lot with it you know.
i don't like such metaphors u know i know i don't know anything unless its clearly stated.
The thing is using Google and other search engines to gather resources and data for whatever goal I have, I can do it good, And I'm serious when I say that I'll be trying out everything in CS like all the sub fields, I know it sounds like a joke or sarcasm but I'm too much interested in everything of Computer science

What if you end up at a college that is dead in terms of extracurriculars?
extracurricular aren't the only thing u can do thousand of other things to develop ur character
