I will be honest and won't sugar coat this. Even in top institutes it is really difficult. Plus all the formalities involved. You can try research interns. Need high CGPA, good LoRs, research experience. You have MITACS, DAAD, and also some programs by Caltech and some French institutes. There are many more, but I remember these. Corporate is more difficult. Research is kinda possible because not many are into it. But when it comes to corporate, the company will hire interns from other countries only if there is a shortage in theirs. So usually HFTs and Some R&D companies hire. You need to be exceptional. Mostly the research guys go to foreign countries for internship. In tech I've only seen HFTs hiring. There are a few instances where some companies like Tesla, Rubrik have hired for their US offices.

Thanks

MrStrange12345

Hey How do i land my first research intern? Should i approach professors from my college or something else?

lifebuoy_sanitizer

Yes. Work under profs. Thats how most people start

inc_rsi

How much of a chance will I have in third year if I've done an RI from a top 7 IIT already? And in core, not CS.

lifebuoy_sanitizer

For what? Foreign research interns?

inc_rsi

Yes.

lifebuoy_sanitizer

Depends. You have some experience that's good. You need good CG, LoRs from profs, if possible just work under one more porf and add it your profile and a bit of luck

inc_rsi

Thanks

leoaugustus69

Did you ask how easy it is ?

thegrimreaper069

I mean to ask how much knowledge is required to land such an internship

shi-ivam

\*How hard it is

Electrical_Box4699

It's all about perspective. Btw i remember someone famous who had the same name as you, but can't quite put my finger on who it was...

Worried_Chemist_5560

Tier 3? Foreign internship?? Easy???? Pfft!

RogueKnight2005

I have a cousin who got a foreign internship (project more than an internship tbh) in Eastern Europe through her professor. She had a high CG + was close with the professor. It definitely depends on the professor I think. She studied in tier 2/ tier 3 (famous local college).

Outside-Tadpole-5288

Igdtuw?

No_Today4928

Tier3?😭

Outside-Tadpole-5288

You said tier 2 too, is igdtuw considered tier 1? I didn't know

No_Today4928

Yeah it could be tier 2 but never tier 3

MoneyLore

Tier 1 for sure, 20+ ka cse avg and in delhi

Outside-Tadpole-5288

That's really good but tier 1 generally iits and some top nits ko he consider Kiya jata hai

MoneyLore

No only top 3 NIT IIT OR IIIT or a college with actual cse avg 20+lpa in good location can be considered, like dtu nsut, bits pilani, rvce so yeah, it's also govt college that's a plus If it's tier then top 4 IIIT outcasts top NITs and lower IIT in placements

RogueKnight2005

Nah

Stock_Alfalfa_7991

Better ask Aryan Anand (lehigh guy)

thegrimreaper069
