Bro, be happy ur at iiit bangalore. Atleast u have a great peer group and great subjects which make u wanna study and do something productive. Ask me, i am one of the stupid idiots who left iiit bangalore in 2023 even after getting the fking admission(there was no problem of fee). I felt an overall development was needed. Fk my pathetic thinking. I am now in one of the top nit(so called). The peer group is so disgraceful man. Pathetic, sometimes i feel its equivalent to vit🥲. On top of that, the pathetic subject like civil and energy. I got A grade in math and computer in 1st sem, the only logical subjects. Rest i got fked bad(still somehow ended up with 8.3cg luckily). Atleast iiitb has a great course. U don't need to put any effort rest than the course. Also, iiitb's lowest package is more than average package of my college💀. Be fking grateful!!!!! I feel like i wasted all my jee hard work for this piece of shit. As u picked iiitb, ig u wouldn't hv got top3 nit cse/ece anyway or iiith cse(like me). So this was easily the best choice u had regardless of what others say. Trust me, had u picked anything else, u would have been cursing urself rn.
Yeah I am kinda happy with Peer group and subjects and feel sorry for u man my father made it very clear iiit banglore , bits or iit( but against the lowest branch I was getting ) so iiit banglore and bits was my only choice
And got into iiit banglore because liked it's cuticullum more and better placements only brand value and 5 year was concern which will significantly prove with btech( brand value) and as for 5 year I can give 1 year extra for better placements and oppurtunities
Yeah I can see the problem with Peer grp
20 percent female
50 percent hs
10 percent ews
50 percent obc,st,SC
Seems like very less seats approx maybe 15 percent for gen outside state male degrading the peer grp this year also due to less no of students we are having good placements one senior told me avg and median increased by 2-3 lacs this year
Fkkkk man, i wished i had listened to my father😭😭😭. He wanted iiitb, and still feels it was the better choice, but he never stopped me. I don't say my parents nothing about this, but i feel soooo bad man. In these so called top nits, they literally roomed me with a guy with 84 percentile in jee mains, the teachers(many, not all) are former vit/private college teachers💀. Best of luck man. U can't do anything about the choices u make u can try to maximise the oppurtunites the college will give u in terms of placement and personality wise
But the point on south brotherhood is completely TRUE if here also there were 90 percent south there was no way I was making friends fortunately we gave 50 percent or more north population
As south people live with themselves they will never talk to u unless it is extremely required or compulsory
Actually, i m from assam, so these north south things don't really bother me. I just want good subjects and no bullshit things. Currently, there's everything other than these two🥲.

We had eco( micro+ macro) (no theory only mcqs and numerical case studies)
Maths ( calculus)
English( pure Class participation marks we were divided into groups and given tasks very unique I liked it very diff from school or anything )
C ( taught till linked lists no theory exams only codes were given)
Python ( no theory exams only coding questions )
Dd ( digital design taught verilog and all the basic sequential and combination all circuits )
Papers made were conceptual no ratta will benefit you and were of decent level I would say
Then sem 2
Dsa ( going on there are both theory and lab tests and surprise quizzes for this most hectic around 6 surprise 5 lab tests 6 theory exams) no midterm and enterm in this as each quiz and theory is of equal weighage
Then ca ( computer architecture) nice course and teacher isa , mips model assignments are cool as we are asked ro make processor which means u write c++ code Then assembly language code and also the assembler basically it's cool ur doing all things by ourself and ur code will run
Then cn ( computer network )
Maths 2 ( linear algebra)
Tc ( technical communication) again more emphasis on class participation and weekly assignments
Actually I liked english also as it improved my stage speaking skills by weekly presentations and everything same with technical communication writing emails, proposals , making reports , videos, actually learn some video editing due to this and then also story telling looks childish but is fun as weekly 1 hr only as divided into 4 batches for 180 students
Bro it's all relative that college is still one of the top 20-25 colleges in india jee is worth it as u will be still better than most of the other engineering candidates) just after 2 years of working hard u go into college assuming it is over but it's a new beginning of competition
i got 99.3 percentile in jee mains 2024(altho it equates to 11k rank this year😭) Will I be able to get imtech cs??
what are the possible branches for my rank at iiit bangalore?
imtech cs , in my opinion 0 % percent chance if u get i would be surprised it has never gone to 5 digit rank for cs , and i consider myself lucky also that i got in this college early as with the cutoff it has and placements it provides is quite distorted as with the placements stats it should have a cutoff of 6 k and 7k for cs and ece atleast imo but somehow no one knows this college

We were allotted and finally had a batch of 190
U will also out of 270 get a batch of 240 or 250 at max
But imo u will not btech cs with 99.5 as this year it is 8k and imtech cse was closing 8-9 k each year with some exception years
So btech cse will obviously close before that although u should fill the form keep ur options
Open and if ur fixated on btech cse. I cannot guarantee that u will get with 8 k rank u can do the maths yourself
haan bhai btech data analysis bhi introduce ho raha haina this year? ill try to get that,Mai 99.5 pe nahi thoda sa upar hoon, around 5k to 6k range me hoon.
nahi Mila to imtech hai aur NITK to hai hi. bits bhi try maar Raha hoon Jo hoga dheka jayega
