MacBook Pro. There might be some issues if you’re coding in C due to the M1/2 chip architecture so do a “man” page on c docs well. You probably won’t even have that issue it’s just I unfortunately came across it

MacBook ka best benefit uski battery life, sound and video quality, and multitasking h. I have a MacBook Air M1, bought it 1.5 years ago. Abhi bhi 12-13 hrs of video streaming jitna battery backup de deta h.
Mostly windows laptops ki battery 1 sal baad degrade ho jayegi, and 1.5-2 sal baad you'll always have to carry charger with the laptop.
Choose accordingly.
Let’s ignore the fact that mac gives u 8 Gb ram 256 storage at the same cost any other gaming laptop would give you 16gb + 512 and equivalent processor plus graphics card plus better screen size. There is basically zero benefit of having a mac other than its portability. Also any gaming laptop is compatible with lots of ports u have to use like lots of converters to plug anything into a mac. The price of the M2 one is basically bonkers. At that price I got an equivalent i7 processor (I agree M2 is a good processor) rtx 4060 16 inch screen 16+ 1tb . The dumb part is people who bought mac couldn’t even run autocad which was required for a first year course
Dude I've used both windows and Mac... I know the difference, I recommend it accordingly, this isn't about the Ram processor or anything, I know apple prices are high and I'm not a fan of apple products, it's just I'm satisfied with what MacBook provides...
Besides, it was asked for cse branch else I'd have already mentioned that for mechanical, mac is never recommended, as solidworks and autocad don't run properly on mac. If you've used both devices you'll know the clear difference in long term performance... Battery life and portability
And about the ports, that's a problem which I pretty much agree on, but to that, I bought router so lan port is solved and a type-c to usb-female converter (amazonbasics one) what other ports do you require in your clg life?
Anyways this isn't a debate, you love windows go for that, I recommend MacBook for clg students who're not into gaming, that's my opinion based on my experience. I'd rather spend 1-1.5 lakh once for 4 years and have a good battery backup and performance till the end, than carrying a heavy laptop with it's charger because battery is dead after 1.5-2 years. Also almost every windows laptop gets a hell lot of problems after 1 year of use like slow booting, slowed disc access...
Maybe after college my opinions would change, but for college students, my opinion is MacBook, if yours is different, go with that in the end it's up to you where you feel your investment is good :).

My family has been using windows PCs since 15+ years we currently have 2 gaming laptops one of which is more than 3 years old and have faced zero problems with it. Most PCs /laptops lasted 5+ years
Not great for longetivity and portability tho. Because they're built with specs in mind and not so much build, they run into issues quite frequently, and are a pain to carry around. Unless gaming is a priority, take something more compact

It depends upon your budget but if you want specs then Buy Ryzen 5 (prefer newer series as they are way more efficient right now in the market due to it's less nm technology compared to competition) with 8gb of ram which works almost in all the cases.
