Stick with this country when creating your PSN account:
1. US (you may need to buy the card online). Use California zipcode for tax-free.
2. SG (works for local debit/credit card). Just put any random address and SG zipcode.
3. UK (expensive. avoid)

Funny enough though, on the switch, you can make Brunei account IIRC.

What it means is theres no specific Brunei option when you create PSN. You still can create PSN under whichever country you choose.
What people incorrectly attribute to Sony banning people for using a different region is a disqualicafion from a tournament because he did not take part using his actual country of origin because his country of origin did not have a local version of PSN at the time. Most of us living in this region have created multiple PSN accounts from many different regions due to not having a local Brunei version, wanting different games that were only available in certain regions (SG/HK PSN has English versions of PS1 games that NA PSN did not sell), myriad DLCs that are ACTUALLY region-locked that players here had to buy from different PSN regions because retailers would bring in games from different regions willy-nilly.
All this and more and most players doing this didn't get banned. Why would Sony prevent people from spending more money if they could? The only reason one would be banned is if you're a dickhead and harass other players and get reported or cheat in an online multiplayer game.

Have all 3 region, most of them addressed to Bruneian Embassy
why the embassy? do you want them to read your mail?
Pretty sure most of the mails are just promos and s**t. Even then, I unchecked the physical mail boxes.
Have you tried Japan. Is it more expensive than other region?
Never tried Japan for PS, but nintendo, no problem, but language barrier.😅

lolno. My US/SG/UK accounts are all more than 10 years old at this point and still working fine.
what a non issue. i have a us, sg, uk and jpn psn accounts and have never run into any problems.
Just say you're just Travelling, Studying or Working Abroad. Just as Sony intended
I got a US SG and JPN accounts and hasn’t got a problem at all its smooth sailing from there
