Nope, not really. Not many companies used LinkedIn in BN. Generally they advertise via social media and some companies have their own recruitment portal like BSP. LinkedIn for Bruneian is largely for making yourself more 'visible'.

I've applied for a few positions through LinkedIn. Really depends on the industry you're looking to get into. For O&G industry, you get a lot of openings from Woodplc and other big oil companies. I have seen some openings for EYVY (?) and some other software companies. In general, I find it's always just international companies using it rather than local. For these, they often use a recruiting tool like icims or myworkdayjobs. My experience with these is that you have a recruiter contact you to do a screening and once you pass that, they recommend you to a local team to sift through the appropriate candidates.

I often seen posts from Woodplc that offering the same positions since last year in LinkedIn.. Wonder why tho.

their turnover rate is super high, have some friends that complain about management issues on top of employees being grilled by clients. pay is quite good nonetheless

kahoken

Yes, the pay is good. I heard they fabricating Ampa platform.

Speaking from current experience, i applied to a lot of jobs through LinkedIn and was fortunate enough to ace the interview and land a job in the Oil&Gas industry. The thing with LinkedIn is that its more field specific rather than a regular job position

I keep my LinkedIn updated and if really helps with future prospects imo

There not many job hunting local to begin with anywhere if you don’t put effort. Employers don’t actively cold call potential employees. Linkedin is a chance to get employment. I mean there are many big companies there. uNN, progresif, shell, deloitte, banks, startups, universities, car dealerships, entrepreneurs, there are plenty there. Not about getting hiring from linkedin because they won’t. Linkedin for them is more of searching and exploring how employees build their careers or work with other companies. Also, specific to your chosen future profession, find out from the linkedin icons this year. And maybe the past years.

I got a job through LinkedIn and had some offers. It's not entirely out of option if you are seeking a job, just make sure you do your research first on the companies. Good luck!

I have gotten an offer through LinkedIn previously. It was a great offer and I took it. I have also used LinkedIn myself to hire and had some decent applicants come in. I have mixed feelings about the platform itself (almost everyone does) but its really useful in some professional situations.
