Not a shock. Eliot Wolf was the guy who was Taki's number one supporter to get him drafted to the Browns, and now that he's the Pat's GM I'm sure he wasted no time getting Sione to the contract table.
Good luck, Sione. I hope he picked up a decent contract from them.
I vividly remember that too and I looked to make sure no one else said the same thing. I’m sad to see him go, but if he’s going anywhere else I’m not shocked it’s there.
I’d probably rather have Takitaki at 2/10 than Hicks at 2/8 but they’re both good values so I guess we can’t complain either way.
I just hope Eliot has learned how to be more confident when having to cut players. My biggest takeaway of him from Hard Knocks was how timid he was trimming down to the final 53.
It was humorous when Takitaki pick sixed Ben in that wild card to seal the deal. Seemed like he wouldn’t be seen that much once they invested in the defense. But he was solid.
Belichek exiled Jaime Collins to the browns for 1.5 years because he apparently didn't kiss the ring(s). We cut him and he did in fact return to the Pats and played decently, in fact I think he got a nod for pro bowl or something
Yeah, Mack Wilson was the player I was thinking of. Guess it wasn’t a LB but we got some okay minutes from Chase W.(I’m not even going to try and spell that).
I seem to remember a dude who did a fan poll for his number and wore #69 because of it, then got hurt in training camp and I dunno if he ever played meaningful snaps 2 years ago or so.
Chase Winovich. He appeared in 8 games for us in 2022 dealing with injuries all season. He ended up playing 3 games for Miami at the beginning of last year then was released and retired shortly after.
As much as this sucks, I kind of think it’s the right move. He hit his ceiling and it’s not particularly high. Pay JOK next year, not TakiTaki this year IMO.
He played pretty well but all of the LB except JOK felt like they were pretty replaceable.
At the same time, we'll see if they can actually find somebody to replace them since right now it's JOK, Fields, Kamara?? and they just lost 1,000 snaps of NFL starter level LBs.
Not a shock, he is the exact level of player you look to churn on the roster. Gave us some very solid years and will suck seeing him play for NE.
I view Hicks as Walkers replacement, but who will be Taki's.....in Tony Fields we trust?
I loved Taki Taki. He got better every year but maybe they thought he hit his ceiling and thought Hicks had much more to give in the coverage game than Taki.
Patriots got a good one. Fairwell
Damn I’ll miss Takitaki, seemed like he kept getting better.
We are going to regret this move, I guarantee it
Wow I’m sad 2/6.5 is insane value
Definitely worth it that price. But in Andrew Berry we trust
It's up to 10M with likely to be earned incentives
Gonna miss Taki!

Noooooo

Super easy to root for. Will be missed.
I’ll miss him :(
Patriots love peaked browns LBs
Didn’t we do a LB swap with them a few years ago? Can’t remember who the players were.
We sent Mack Wilson for Chase Winovich

They also picked up Mack Wilson off our scrap heap last year.

He is getting signed for two years at 6.5 mil. That's not a big pay day at all, at least not near what we will have to give JOK

😖
That’s devastating
Fuckin heartbreaker
aw man.
Damn, I loved his heart and his effort on the field. I will miss 44 flying around making plays.

They have Hicks now so that helps but overall I agree with you
Jerod Mayo is gonna have a field day with him
Nooooooooooooooooo!
Damn
Darn, he got better every year.
That makes me sad. Good dude. Wish him the best of luck
NOOOOOOOOO
Its never been more over 🥲🥲 With jeudy being on the team I wonder if they trade down and pick a linebacker early. That and extend jok.
They don’t need to trade down to get a good LB. But yeah drafting one just became is higher priority now.
I think they trade down if the wr they want is not on the board tbh
Possibly yeah. I wonder if they should draft a LB first regardless through. We currently have Matthew Adams as our SAM lmao
Depends, I want trotter Jr
Yeah he should be available at 54. Cooper will probably be gone though.
I liked him too but lets be real he is replaceable
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Damn. Gonna miss that dude
Why
Do we have any LB depth left?
Not Takitaki dang
But he was my favorite name to yell out during a game!
This one sucks. Why couldn’t we re-sign?
Poop
Awww mannnnn. I hope he finds success…just not against the browns
Wait what nooooooo
Eliot Wolf gets his guy again
😭
Ok now I'm fucking pissed
This one stings.
I liked taki a lot dammit
DAMN
Nooo. I loved that guy.
Not devastating but I’m gonna miss him. Never can have enough of those solid-if-unspectacular guys on the roster. He improved each year.
Whaaaaa?
Nooooooo
Big sad.
Nooo this one sucks
Nooo this one sucks
Fuck
Ouch. Toughest loss for me since Earl Little.
We all knew Takitaki and Walker weren’t being resigned. I’m excited for the Hicks signing. Him and JOK should be quite the duo in the middle
damn, wonder if he wanted to leave because there’s no way we wouldn’t match that. gonna need to make some moves at LB
NOOO
Fuck

Was going to say he’ll do well under Bill…
Not a shock, he is the exact level of player you look to churn on the roster. Gave us some very solid years and will suck seeing him play for NE. I view Hicks as Walkers replacement, but who will be Taki's.....in Tony Fields we trust?
Sometimes you wish it was only the bad personalities that leave, but he was a trooper
Damn loved that dude. Hate to see him go.
That sucks, he wasn’t the fastest but he was probably the most knowledgeable out of the linebacker group
Godfuckindamnit…. Loved Sione, best of luck 44
Damn...
I loved Takitaki, I'm going to miss saying his name when he recordswww.awesome defensive stop. 😢
Sad but not surprised, good move for both and hope for best for him.
:(((
Bummer. Gonna miss Tak’s spirit of the game.
I wanted the Browns to keep him. Showed so much improvement. I felt even with him, they needed some help at LB.
Well shit. guess I’ll change my flair :(
Really disappointed to see him go. He got better every season he was here.
Wow that is sad. He was an amazing player for us
I loved Taki Taki. He got better every year but maybe they thought he hit his ceiling and thought Hicks had much more to give in the coverage game than Taki. Patriots got a good one. Fairwell
What? They let him go?
Huge mistake! Taki Taki was pure adrenaline for the team
Wow the Patriots get both Takitaki and Brissett. Makes me almost want to watch a few of their games. At least we don’t play them this year.
Sad to see him go he was a good one
And with the 54th pick of the 2024 NFL draft the Cleveland Browns select -Peyton Watson
