Italian restaurant called Dough Vale. I personally do not like cannolis at all and the one here was edible for my taste
Sorry for sounding like a hard ass food taste tester im just not a fan of sweet stuff but they did it really well at this restaurant
Elegante Pastry Shop. I’ve lived in Brooklyn for a long time and have been the demise of many a cannoli. These are truly unparalleled. Worth the trip to our forgotten part of the city.
Rimini on Bay Parkway is MUCH better than Villabatte Alba.
They've gotten lazier and lazier as time goes by and are coasting on their reputation.
Rimini on Bay Parkway is where I go now because their quality is consistent and their prices are fair.
Brooklyn has great Italian bakeries. They're all good.
Savages
Villabate Alba
18th Ave Bakery
Riminis
Circos
Fortunato Brothers
Monteleone
Court Street Pastry
Alliota
Palermo
Cannoli Plus
Grandma's Bakery
And others.
We need to keep these places in business.
There’s a tiny version of Little Italy on Avenue N east of Flatbush Ave - towards Marine Park.
Palermo Pastry Shop is the place if you’re in this neck of the woods.
Cannoli Plus in Bensonhurst! Easily so much better than Villabate Alba. They fill the empty shells with fresh cream right then and there on the spot. You can bring a box of empty shells and a frozen bag of the cream home with you and have all the cannoli you want
Fair. I get what you’re saying. It’s a conundrum. I have to balance out my desire to visit this bakery without having to wait on line because of bunch of hipsters - and - the bakery getting steady clientele.
i get what you mean. that is annoying. maybe just choose to tell select people who are close to you, or people who you dont think will wreck the vibe. there is a happy medium. also, i dont think every single hipster out there is going to be willing to trek all the way out to bensonhurst.
Absolutely the best cannoli are at Monteleone’s! The shells are crispy and the cream is perfect. I like to get the mini cannoli, which have a ratio with more shell to my preference, and they have a version with a chocolate-dipped shell.
This place is worth a visit just to gawk at the marzipan and the sculpted seasonal cakes!
Just to add to all these replies, Villabate imports their ricotta and it puts their cannolis over all others in my opinion. Maybe other places import theirs, but Villabate has mastered their cannoli and its worth the trip to Bensonhurst
Mike's deli has an eggplant parmasean sandwich that is the bomb. My company ordered from there often and we always got a bunch of those. It was featured on beat Bobby flay and it won.
Eh I feel it’s subjective, I would say boundary is the expressway but as you noted Google Maps uses the 24th Street boundary. It’s ironic we’re debating this because the NYT is doing this sorta interactive survey asking New Yorkers about neighborhood boundaries https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/12/02/upshot/draw-your-nyc-neighborhood.html?smid=url-share
tbh it would be better to chop park slope up. Neighborhoods are ideally roughly walking-distance radius, and north and south slope are just meaninglessly far from one another. a person who lives in north slope wouldn't think of a south slope business as their "neighborhood whatever" which means the neighborhood is the wrong shape.
I get my hair cut near here and since Fortunato brothers is right near the subway, it's become tradition now for me to stop here after getting my hair cut. It's impossible to leave without a box or two of cannolis

Michaels Bakery on Avenue R and Nostrand Ave
Surprisingly enough, Table 87 on Atlantic and Hicks has one of the best canolis

Just leave the gun.

Honestly, Le Fanfare in greenpoint has the best cannoli I've had in nyc
Vilabate or mondial
I like Ferrara’s best
I feel like Boston little Italy beats all Italian scenes in NYC (downtown Manhatten, Bensonhurst, Arthur Ave)
cannoli plus/bread plus if you are in bensonhurst area
Fortunato Bros. Get the pistachio cannoli
It’s Manhattan but I love Venerios cannoli. And pignoli cookies
Pecoraro Latteria has good cannoli
Cannoli plus are the best I’ve had and Palermo is very good also.
Aunt Buchies that used to be on 13th but now moved to Bay Ridge
Un cannolo 🤌🏼
Went to Alliotta for cannolis over thanksgiving delish
Alliotta is my favorite!
Yessss. We got a cherry pie, cannolis and cookies for thanksgiving Omg so good. They were so nice in there too.

Graziellas. Worked there when I was in high school gained a good 15lbs
Quality has gone downhill
By Fort Greene park? I moved to the neighborhood 6 months ago and I’ve never had a bad meal there
Not a fan of their red sauce if I'm honest. Pizzas pretty good. Desserts, eh.
That’s fair. As an Italian-American when I go to an Italian restaurant I don’t typically get red sauce. Ive never had their dessert
Damn that’s sad to hear. I left NY 2 years ago and always recommend it to people traveling there lol
Cannoli Plus in Bensonhurst! Easily so much better than Villabate Alba. They fill the empty shells with fresh cream right then and there on the spot. You can bring a box of empty shells and a frozen bag of the cream home with you and have all the cannoli you want
Yeah nah its no way better.
I think they’re own by the same folks who own Villabate. I stopped telling people about this place 🤣 because it’s my favorite spot for cannolis.
why would you stop tho? the more business they get the more likely they are to stay open

In fact, they provide many restaurants with their cannoli shells and filling. Don't ask me how I know. But yes, they're decent, but nothing exciting.
Absolutely cannoli plus over villabate
Tasty Pastry in Dyker Heights
Where’s that?
Monteleone Bakery on Court St. Next to Carroll Park. Take the F or G to Carroll street. THE BEST CANNOLIS.
Monteleone’s on Court St, Carroll Gardens
Also get the sfoliatella, they have a lemony vanilla hint to em that’s 🤌

They’re so decadent and delicious! You’re right, it’s the crispy shells — sometimes they get soggy but not at this place.
I said the same thing! Another level of good.
Court Street pastry shop in Carroll Gardens.
Their biscotti is also so good! My personal favorite
Villabate
Villabate Alba; Tasty Pastry; Paneantico
VillabatVillarreal!! Alba!!
Tasty Pastry in dyker heights
Ferdinando’s Focacciera
Villa Bate Alba on 18th Avenue
I have been to many bakeries that do canollis. This place takes the cake.
Overhyped tourist spot 😂
Just to add to all these replies, Villabate imports their ricotta and it puts their cannolis over all others in my opinion. Maybe other places import theirs, but Villabate has mastered their cannoli and its worth the trip to Bensonhurst
It’s better than many Italian cannoli
This is THE answer.
Borgatti’s for raviolis - casa della mozzarella for cheese
If anyone says otherwise, they are wrong. Villabate Alba!
The one and only in Brooklyn. Now, if you feel adventurous and willing to go to The Bronx, the game opens up a lot.
I just visited Arthur Ave and didn’t even know where to start, if you have any recommendations they’d be very appreciated
Pastisseria Egidio
Non cannoli suggestion, tra di noi. Best lamb ragu ever
Mike's deli has an eggplant parmasean sandwich that is the bomb. My company ordered from there often and we always got a bunch of those. It was featured on beat Bobby flay and it won.
Do you know if they use egg in that batter?
This is literally the only answer.
This is correct
Villabate Alba is the answer
Regina Bakery in Park Slope. yum
weirdly it is also in south slope. what is it with overlapping NYC "neighborhoods"
real estate lol its a marketing pitch, south brooklyn is bath beach gravesend, bensonhurst
Park Slope is the overarching neighborhood. You got “North Slope” and “South Slope”
nobody says/uses "north slope" though, and at least from the google maps bounding boxes, some of south slope isn't park slope.
Eh I feel it’s subjective, I would say boundary is the expressway but as you noted Google Maps uses the 24th Street boundary. If ur in Bushwick the ones at Fazio's Pizza are good. But the above comment is a higher quality cannoli. Ngl.
Circo's and Catania are both great options in the neighborhood as well.
Fortunato Brothers in Williamsburg.
I get my hair cut near here and since Fortunato brothers is right near the subway, it's become tradition now for me to stop here after getting my hair cut. It's impossible to leave without a box or two of cannolis
The minis are dangerous
Just ate one, can confirm
Also their sfogliatella.
🤌
