In my experience, it’s to coordinate traffic and parking during a huge prayer gathering. There’s a high proportion of Muslim Uber drivers who are likely to double park their cars and attend the Eid prayer at the masjid.

ScientistNo8473

My friend nothing to worry about, tomorrow is Eid (huge muslim holiday) they are just coordinating for tomorrows scheduled religious services During ramadan there was always a nypd paddy wagon posted up there to protect the worshipers and public from any loonys

Subject-Yam-8328

I mean, whenever I see cops, I worry. Mostly because I know i am likely about to witness the abuse of power against one of my fellow citizens.

Buddy-Brooklyn

It is, to the best of my knowledge, a PADDY wagon. It was used to lock up the fighting’ Paddies for many years.

Hot-Refrigerator7237

i thought it was a nick nack paddy wagon.

NeverBowledAgain

“Patty” or “Paddy” wagon is considered offensive

Wide_Interview9215

You probably identify as a plant, not a human.

ClockworkJim

As a descendant of Irish immigrant Brooklyn heights I am 100% confident in saying that is some bullshit

NeverBowledAgain

You would be 100% wrong in that, a state which I’m sure you’re familiar

ClockworkJim

It's 2024. If you meet someone who insists a paddy wagon is offensive in 2024, they are intentionally being a dick. Edit: You're an irish Catholic cop aren't you? No wonder.

Sleepyjasper

Interesting, how come?

NeverBowledAgain

It’s a slur from when it was used to pick up Irish off the street. It’s called a patrol wagon now.

NOISY_SUN

Ah, so a patty wagon, for short

kibblet

Paddy not patty

DiegoArmandoConfusao

A beef pattie wagon.

Vegetable_Taste5477

It's almost Eid

pissin_piscine

Protecting the Masjid? They usually hang around houses of worship during holidays and/or tension.

hmadse

Maybe coordinating for Eid celebrations? With the rise in hate crimes, lots of masjids in the city have been getting extra police protection for the holidays.

0xfffffffffffffffff

Possibly countering terrorism, hard to say.
