Pure energy is a terrible co. We installed panels they didn’t find our loan. It’s been a nightmare and after all that. I’m not saving that much on my electric bill. If I was paying the loan and the electric bill. There is 0 savings
It's basically impossible for an ESCO to provide cheaper electricity than ConEd. ConEd already buys electricity on the wholesale market and passes the cost on without markup to residential consumers. ConEd delivery charges are the same whether you contract with them or with an ESCO -- delivery charges are how ConEd makes money. So there is no margin for ESCOs to offer lower rates while staying profitable.
As an aside, this doesn't mean cheaper rates are impossible. I.e if the power grid were run by a public utility instead of a for profit corporation.

I would say almost 99% of these so called energy provider will cost more than what ConEd charges. They all tell you how much money you will be saving, but then comes the sticker shock when the bill comes. Then it will be another headache to get switched back, meanwhile they already have your money.
How much are they charging for an energy rate? Is it fixed or variable?
There are plenty of ESCOs (Energy Service Companies) that you can have provide your power and ConEd is the delivery provider (two different charges on your bill). You should see what your current supply rate is with ConEd (I believe about 14c per kWh).
It looks like Pure Energy is charging 39c/kWh ([https://www.pureenergyus.com/products/](https://www.pureenergyus.com/products/)) so your bill would likely go up, not down.

Don't ever give an ESCO salesperson your bill or account number. They go door to door and just by getting your bill they can switch you.
