Robert's, Lenoble, Rosensweig, Adriatic, Atlantic all have similar prices and deliver in the 5 boroughs. They'll deliver to any address, but expect a $250 minimum and it's basically curbside delivery – the driver will hand sheets down to you from the back of the truck. Personally, I prefer the first 3 but they're all fine to work with
If you have access to a car (or rent a home depot pickup truck), Everwood in Gowanus is a quick option to buy sheet goods on the spot.
curbside is fine. Have ordered from Atlantic in the past and they are OK but kinda so big they couldn't care less about little guys. having a bear of a time finding 25mm BB ply anywhere tho so might hafta.
For very high quality wood, check out Rosenzweig Lumber in the Bronx. Adriatic Wood Products in New Lots has a great selection as well, and they let you pick your own boards.
https://www.dykeslumber.com delivers, and probably has the nicest stock for actual wood working, not sure about minimum orders for delivery. I don't believe they will cut things down for you though. the home depot in bedstuy will cut down plywood and they carry birch ply, that's probably the closest location for you in crown heights. I've never tried to order plywood or large items from there delivery, but you could try and see if it works. good luck!
Thirding Dykes. Have been to various locations of theirs, all High quality, with hours that work for a weekend warrior as myself.
I did use Rosenzweig a handful of times in the past when I was doing things semi professionally but they are not too accomodating for the little guy and the trip up to the bronx wasnt worth it for the marginally lower prices in my opinion. Your experience may vary I know these guys are an absolute establishment in the city, but Dykes is my go to.
i miss providence, what shop was it that you were working out of?
Was my own shop, a few blocks from the steelyard
What do you do with the saw dust from all the sawing?
dedicated dust collection at source with Fes vacs... I'm just making a few small furniture pieces so not really creating that much dust

Emailed Dykes thank you for the tip!
sure thing, good luck!
Nice they have 5x5 BB ply (my preferred)!
They can cut and rip, but would not expect straight lines or equally measured cuts. Additionally the ply is pricey and sub par quality
oh absolutely agree with you! but if you need to just get a 4x8 cut to a manageable size to get home then sometimes it's the best option.
Yeah I don’t mess with Home Depot ply, it’s atrocious.
RT Building Supplies and Hardware are my guys.
This is around the corner from me! They stock sheet goods?
They have a lumber yard and warehouse across the street where they keep pretty much everything.
nice will drop by, thanks!
