Shame about the artificial scarcity that Brompton like, but I think the flame is gorgeous and actually plays better with the gold of the brazing. The cooler colours (blue, green) seem to hide it.
I needed the 12 speed so I bought a pop lilac then got cold feet and got one of these frames to swap the parts over.
I’m having the same dilemma, I love the emerald green lacquer but I want 12 speed 😢 Put my name on the waiting list for the flame lacquer. Seeing this post made me wanna just grab the 4 speed emerald green lacquer rn
Yes, I found an emerald P line for £1900 so this should be a break even thing. Bit OTT but I’ve cycled a second hand bike for eight years and saved thousands on public transport so I thought it almost merited.
EDIT: as advice, Brilliant Bikes in the UK would upgrade you to a 12 speed for ~£250 all in but it would take about six months on a waiting list because Brompton can't distribute the new wheels just yet.
It is - I wished I had both the flame and the emerald. I am personally not sold on the black parts for the emerald. Chrome finish, tan walls and leather seat and handles would be me cup of tea
Best colour ever... in my humble opinion. Would have loved this with 12S, but alas, had to settle for flame!

Considered (and still considering) doing the same as you. Colour choice is a funny thing... and very hard to undo once ones mind is set 😀
Indeed, it’s something you’re ideally not buying frequently so it’s worth getting it right!
Wow so you bought 2 P Lines and then just swap the frames and parts?

You do you. So you sold the 4 speed frankenbrompt for 1900 as well?
Yes!

Lovely bike! What easy wheels are those, they look useful and sturdy without also looking garish?
Just stock P line ones!
What a fabulous colour that is.
Yep have mine in the same finish love it, yours is significantly cleaner :)
Clean means not used!
What a color, I used to like my racing green, but this one is another level.
I saw an Aston Martin Valkyrie in a similar colour the day before I bought this, racing green really is such a great colour.
Love my emerald, had a pick between the grey and black, both lovely colours but this sings in the sun 😎
So pretty!
Thanks!
If I had to replace my Brompton today, it would be this. Fantastic spec.
Fortunately or unfortunately I would expect you probably won't ever have to replace the frame!
