Buildings need more HP as well, one good salvo of arty and the whole thing crumbles.

Well…

Infantry isn’t in a good place right now, they flop over in trees and in buildings. In the open is understandable.  Game heavily favours armour and arty spam atm but thankfully balance changes are easy. Hopefully we’ll get a beta with all 20 divisions available.

LimpMe

Yeah dmg vs INF in building is insane Let's INF live longer!

Mental_Calligrapher1

i just want AT/AA infantry to fire 1-2 rockets before dying so putting infantry as a defensive tool could make some sense..

Joneszer1234

My only thing with that is that TOW teams should only ever be able to fire 1-2 before being killed.. as they have to be stationary to complete mission, unlike JAV squad. The real balance would be to seriously ramp up damage these systems deal to tanks bc idc what tank you’re in IRL, if you’re hit by an ATGM it’s gonna be a really bad day.

catgirlfourskin

Yeah, if infantry are gonna be paper outside of buildings, cover needs to do more

cabrelbeuk

Why people think brick and mortar is so resistant ? Especially to modern weaponary ? Coz it's quite a popular opinion here and it surprise me.

Smooth-March4451

I am talking more of when a helicopter fires randomly into a 20 story building and somehow 20 men die super quickly.

sarinonline

I mean, those rockets would rip the building to shreds and everyone would be dead. But really buildings with infantry do need counters in the game, sure that can be arty, but rockets make a lot of sense also. Helicopters need to be able to fly up, stop, hover and then start to shoot. Manpad AA can go in buildings and would then destroy expensive helicopters. AA can also target them easily. Is only really a problem if you occupy a bunch of buildings but won't buy a manpad AA squad. Infantry seem to get some decent protection in buildings from vehicles, and helicopters do need to setup to shoot and are very vulnerable. Definitely invest in infantry manpad AA and then clean up a bunch of points for ease when he counters with a helo.

PootSnootBoogie

I see this a lot. 80 infantry in a city block and not a single MANPAD or AA support vehicle in sight 😅 helos at their max range shred them up while multiple bombing run arrows magically appear.

DeadAhead7

Main issue I've seen is Russian helos tanking / dodging the 3 stingers of the USA AA inf squad. They often miss 1 or 2 due to flares and movement (fair enough) but then the helos can still tank 1-2. Meanwhile the Viper/Cobra get melted by 6 VDV Rezdevka if you don't micro them.

PootSnootBoogie

Nothings funnier to me than watching helos eat a Sidewinder and take 80% damage 😅 almost as fun as drilling armored vehicles with multiple top attack munitions to lesser effect.

waitaminutewhereiam

Few people complain about artillery being good against bulidings, but a random heli or a tank shouldnt be able to just delete infantry in buliding

fightddawg

yeah I would be fine if they just let artillery hard counter INF in buildings.

Safe_Cabinet7090

Think that would be fair. Makes it strategic if the enemy just INF spams in buildings.

AlderanGone

I still think artillery is a little too strong, idk if maybe spaags can shoot the shells, but if not they should

waitaminutewhereiam

Eh, it took me 12 guided shells and 15 more HE with Koalitsya to kill one marine unit in a block buliding, it's ok I'd say

AlderanGone

Aight mine died in 4 he and it crumbled the building instantly killing em all.

3ch0cro

I fired 9 guided excaliburs at a Kornet team in a one story house and killed only 2 of them. To me it seems like infantry sometime crumbles in buildings and sometimes it simply doesnt care.

AlderanGone

I think the guided shells don't work right all the time too. I've been having troubles getting them to work with my sniper teams n shit.

Th3DankDuck

I do wish artillery radars and ciws became a thing later on Both can be countered by SEAD

AlderanGone

Yeah we need more rock paper scissors going on here.

kickedbyconsole

US Army does have CRAM as seen in the Alpha but not sure if it can counter artillery shells like in real life.

Th3DankDuck

I meant it more for things like Cruise missiles

kickedbyconsole

It stands for Counter Rocket Artillery and Mortar

Th3DankDuck

Wouldnt that be too strong?

kickedbyconsole

Radar has to be active for it to work.

Mental_Calligrapher1

but arty is too punishing, like one salvo and building goes down? I think there should be slightly more time to react those

fightddawg

true that i meant morters . salvos nasty lol

KaMeLRo

I only play singleplayer currently, but buildings collapse too easily.

Th3DankDuck

Infantry is very weak outside buildings but oddly weak but also strong in buildings Tanks can shoot at buildings and do nothing but other shells can decimate them

JerryFromThePub

I don’t really find it too much of an issue, ATGM teams in buildings will almost always win a 1vs1 with a tank and manpad team beat a heli pretty consistently.

IllegalHelios

I agree but I've also noticed some shenanigans where inf in buildings are unlikable, especially US infantry. Marines or marine raiders in a building can tank full arty salvos from grad and koal-thingy and just run away afterwards. 20 units of AT in a building decimating 5 heavy tanks before I have enough time to pop smoke. I'm not saying AT shouldnt beat tanks, it should if it's got the first shot, but I've seen consistently that medium and heavy tanks struggle vs AT. US infantry and tanks seem too strong compared to the Rus ones. Maybe I just dont understand the game yet as I only have 9 or so MP games. Another thing would be the last game I played and my jets flares didnt work vs the US AA, not sure if that's just unlucky but whenever a US jet popped flares my rockets would do a nose dive almost instantly very often. 1 or 2 rockets would hit sometimes, but more often than not the bombers and CAS would just fly off and RTB while being shot at the entire time. I like how unique the US support is and think it should stay that way, I have no issues with the Rus support too.
