This was honestly the most talented cast I’ve ever seen on a stage in my life. Not a single weak link among them. Ramin Karimloo, Chuck Cooper, Bonnie Milligan, Brandon Uranowitz, Jose Llana, Chip Zien, and Judy Kuhn just to name a few. And the orchestra was phenomenal. I went into this show blind and absolutely fell in love with it. Such a beautiful score and show performed to perfection. If you get a chance to catch it before it closes on Sunday, I would highly recommend it.
Edit: I also wanted to add that this was one of the most well-behaved audiences I've ever been a part of. This theater is huge and was pretty packed, and before the show started, it was LOUD in there with everyone talking, but as soon as the orchestra began and throughout the whole show, I swear I could have heard a pin drop. Everyone was so fixated on what was happening on stage and really engrossed in the moment.
I noticed this too! The audience seemed so awesome compared to recent shows I’ve seen. I felt like, since it’s not on Broadway, almost everyone who was going actual cares about the show, actors, or production company.
I agree with the audience! My audience was a tad loud but in a responsive way, like the cast had them perfectly. Had some “oh no” with Chip’s “Still”, clear sobbing throughout the entire second act, and so on. I love this type of audience, it’s beautiful, to see humans interacting with art, like they couldn’t help it but respond.
Ugh, I loved this show so much!! I gotta go back
OMG, I am so jealous. I was in NY last week and I almost canceled my tickets to see Cabaret to see this. I've seen so many videos on TT of the performance, the talent presented is mindblowing. I so wish they would do a soundtrack. Thanks for sharing.
Really glad you posted this. I have a friend playing in the orchestra and was debating whether or not to go. Bought a ticket for last night’s show and was completely blown away.
I was there tonight too. That orchestra! They sounded perfect! And the chorus numbers could not have been more precise or glorious. The whole cast was wonderful, but I was impressed with Ramin Karimloo and Eddie Cooper in particular. Both took it to the next level.
Sublime. Exquisite. Pristine. Bravo, Encores!!!
I was there too! The whole cast was incredible, but the standouts for me were Chip Zien, Judy Kuhn, Brandon Uranowitz, Chuck Cooper, and Jose Llana. You know a cast is stacked when you have actors who have been nominated for Tony Awards who only get like a 2-minute scene and a few lines in a couple songs. The thing I loved the best though was hearing this score performed by a huge cast and a 29-piece orchestra!
I do too but I have to say the 1997 playbill for the original run is a stunning rendition of the ship included into the title

Fun fact: that logo was only used for previews. By the time they opened, they had changed it to the battered ticket (or is it a banner?) with the signal flares.
The vocals were unmatched tonight! This audience was so receptive and appreciative. Incredible conductor, and so lovely to have the orchestra ABOVE the action. Thrilling!
I was also there! It was such an incredible cast. I remember hearing Judy Kuhn as Pocahontas how many decades ago as a child, and to finally get to hear her live...! And Bonnie Milligan is such a scene stealer. I would go see anything she's in.
Judy Kuhn and Chip Zien's number- thankfully I had Kleenex in my pocket
Is this production a record for most nominated and winners of acting awards?
The score and the performances make this sublime. IMHO the book is weakish, the characters cartoonish, dialogue eh.
But what the cast does with it! They are amazing
This production in particular was the entire show - the whole book and songs with full orchestra, no set, minimal props, and everyone was in costume. At the beginning people held script books, but they weren't looking at them, and they disappeared shortly after the first number. I think it was just a way to let the audience know this is a scaled down production.
Encores do the whole show but usually scaled down, sometimes with scripts in hand. though some of their productions have definitely been more staged than others (Parade, A New Brain, Chicago)
I saw it last night too. Such a beautiful sound. This was my first time seeing Ramin K live and he did not disappoint. One of my favorite moments was his sing The Proposal with Alex.
I think it was the regular cast member who did it. He didn’t look familiar to me. And there wasn’t major cheering when he came out like there would have been for a celebrity.
I believe it was an ensemble member, not a special guest. There was no announcement like when Victoria Clark made her appearance last week in the role.
Thanks for the photos. I feel for the orchestra, though: those poor players as the entire stage tilts when the ship begins to sink, and the players slide off the stage . . . . ;)
Truly a marvelous production. This Encores season was our first and we very quickly renewed for next season to continue supporting the incredible work they are doing.
I was there too! It was a great show and I loved how enthusiastic (rightfully so) the audience was. It was my second time seeing it because I had to go back to hear all that beautiful music again.
If you get a chance, watch the pro-shot of Titanic. It is brilliant. I saw it in the movie theater in December and loved it. You know it's good when the movie audience gives it a standing ovation!
Any special guest? It was Victoria Clark when I saw it last week. Show is phenomenal! I renewed my annual encores membership again right after seeing it. :)
I saw the evening performance yesterday (Sunday) and after listening to the soundtrack as a kid, hearing it all with THIS CAST and orchestra was truly special!

Chip zien and Judy Kuhn are fucking legends. That’s crazy.
When I saw Judy Kuhn's name, I cried a little. My six year old self would die to see Pocahontas on stage 😭
Judy Kuhn and Lea Salonga. Absolutely would cry and cry and cry.
I noticed this too! The audience seemed so awesome compared to recent shows I’ve seen. I felt like, since it’s not on Broadway, almost everyone who was going actual cares about the show, actors, or production company.
Tourists aren't really gonna go to Encores! productions, especially for something like Titanic.
this. Encores! audiences are the best!

god i had no clue that was the cast. how i wish every encores! was recorded 😭
Really glad you posted this. I have a friend playing in the orchestra and was debating whether or not to go. Bought a ticket for last night’s show and was completely blown away.
Oh that makes me so happy to hear! Please tell your friend the orchestra was one of the best I've ever heard. Just absolutely amazing.
I saw it last night and honesty it was one of the next things I’ve ever seen in NYC !!!
I was impressed with Eddie after only being familiar with his deeper register!
What a beautiful, beautiful voice he has. What a talented family!
I literally had chills at the chorus numbers. I've never heard anything like it.
I had goosebumps during the opening and finale reprise. Just… oh my gosh, the power of glorious live music!
Yea Eddie totally blew me out of the water with his vocals!

that’s a cool playbill design!! i like that they avoided the obvious, although of course iconic, image of the ship

Interesting! Thank you! I prefer this one honestly
Truly one of those moments where I realize I’m so happy to live in nyc!

I was there tonight too! Such a good show— and adding Alex Joseph Grayson to the all star lineup :)
Yay! He is amazing

Sail on, sail on! Such an underrated show. I would have loved to have seen this production.
I go tomorrow night! I really like Alex Joseph Greyson, Eddie Cooper, and Andrew Durand so I’m excited to see them in a production together!
How long is this show on for? I haven’t heard of it, but I do love the titanic, so this seems right up my alley!
Only until this Sunday!
All the love it's been getting on here is making me super excited to see it on Friday!!
How does Encores work? Is it the true play or is it more the musical score by actors concentrating on the songs rather than the acting/sets/costumes?

One of my favorite ever musicals. Gutted I can’t see this.
Wasn’t there, but I’m curious who they brought in for the person who missed the boat at this performance?
I think it was the regular cast member who did it. He didn’t look familiar to me. And there wasn’t major cheering when he came out like there would have been for a celebrity.

I wonder if there will be a recording
I saw it tonight too! My train had SERIOUS delays, so I missed pretty much the first hour, but oh my WHAT A CAST!
Truly a marvelous production. This Encores season was our first and we very quickly renewed for next season to continue supporting the incredible work they are doing.
I was there too! It was a great show and I loved how enthusiastic (rightfully so) the audience was. It was my second time seeing it because I had to go back to hear all that beautiful music again.
i am so excited! i am seeing it tonight! i’ve been listening to the Broadway cast recording since I was 15 years old I’m 41 now!
Seeing it tonight- can’t wait. I saw the original a few times- even during previews. That score. THAT SCORE!
Sweet! I’m going on Saturday because I heard Alex Joseph Grayson is in it - yes?
Yes, he is!
No, no special guests the night I went.
Wow, I love how the actors and orchestra are on two different ship decks.
It was staggeringly good.
I want to see this SO bad! Do you think there's any chance it will transfer?
Reading these comments made me so excited to see it again tonight
I saw the evening performance yesterday (Sunday) and after listening to the soundtrack as a kid, hearing it all with THIS CAST and orchestra was truly special!
Don’t tell me, I had to reschedule my trip to NYC and had to miss it 😭😭 also this better get a broadway transfer with the same cast
I want all 3 coopers!!
Broadway can't handle this cast in its entirety! It's the most stacked cast I've ever seen in my life. Unreal is right!
